Good Morning and Merry Christmas Eve! Our household is awake and raring to go...both DDs have early work shifts and are up and at 'em - one needs a ride as the other has the extra car due to unpredictable work schedule - I heard them getting ready, making coffee, (mmm smelled good) and thought I could either go back to sleep or join them before they leave - I got up

Freezing rains here - will melt the snow we had but no worries - there will be PLENTY next month to deal with lol Dashing DD18 to work, then will be one of those customers at the grocery store grabbing last minute items at 6 AM lol - the other night the store we were at ran out of frozen spinach. Need it for our dip recipe (place the dip in the pumpernickle bread) I have baking to do today: apple pie to take to DMIL's tomorrow, sweet bread, and blueberry muffins for brunch tomorrow. Tonight's fancy dinner means linens need found (oh where did I stash them after last year??), DR cleared of my work files, and quick vacuum. Chatted with Gary's sister, Carrie yesterday. She is so looking forward to spending Christmas Day here minus their mother and older mean brother. We are too! My DM will join us - should be a casual fun day. We'll do a White Elephant gift exchange - this year DD18 joins us (that's the family rule, no gifts from Aunts and Uncles once out of high school). She's excited to join the adults Last minute gift wrapping needs done too. Well on our way!!

Morning Christine and all to come...
Grabbing a cup of coffee and heading downstairs to wrap for a bit since Jason is still sound asleep...when he wakes up, we will decorate the tree...sounds like a great way to welcome in Christmas Eve.
Will fill you in on my crazy day yesterday later...

Good morning all and Merry Christmas eve! I am the first one up so I can actually get to the real computer...! Shopping is done still need to wrap a few gifts and deal with cards and gift cards. Today I am dusting, vacuuming, picking up, quick clean in kitchen and bathrooms. Tomorrow will be the first time Kennedy is at MY house. That said, for some reason I am occasionally tearing up and missing my mom, holidays seem to bring back memories too.
Christine-sounds like a lot going on at your house this morning!
Nadine-hope you feel better! I did my food shopping yesterday...the store was packed.
Sue-I need to get my coffee going now. I hope I can recruit some help with the cleaning but not going to hold my breath!
I made chili yesterday and put it back in the refrigerator overnight - my family seems to think that it tastes better the next day. Chili is our Christmas eve tradition. I don't know if we will go to church this evening at 9 or not. I am for it but will need to see if I have any takers on that.
So if I don't get on here tomorrow, I wish all of you the best and hope you enjoy the holiday with your family. I so much appreciate the support I get here!
Lisa

Merry Christmas eve:
I'm going to my meeting and do my WI it's not going to be pretty at all, but must do it. Then home to fix all the food to go to in-laws house and then go to in-laws. No gifts there tonight just family time. Then appetizers for tomorrow at my sisters house. Its really cold here but will warm up to 40 and no snow thank the lord.
Christine glad the girls are home and up and raring to go. Do they work all day or will they be home to enjoy dinner?
Nadine sorry your still not feeling well.
Lisa have fun with you GB. I'm going to start cleaning as well in a bit.
Sue have fun decorating your tree that does sound like a fun way to welcome Christmas Eve.
OK I will try to get back today but no promises I hope everyone has a great Christmas eve and Christmas day.
Merry Christmas
Jenny

Hello all. It's late and I'm tired. I'm getting ready to put a brisket on and let it cook over night. Going to church in the morning but need to get up early so I can get my dishes done. Did get presents put in gift bags. Didn't want to wrap presents.
Christine glad you was able to have coffee with the girls. That time is special. Weather here was in the mid 60's. can't believe it's Christmas and that warm. Unusual weather for here. I would say it's usually in the 30-40's. was there anyone at the grocery store at 6 am our shoppers didn't really start until probably 8 and later. Just a few early shoppers
Oldest DS and DDIL will be here with the 3 DGK's. looking forward to them meeting me for church. We had talked about only doing gifts for DGK and then DS went and bought a bunch of horseshoes and was welding presents with them. He welded his wife their last name. Made DH a fireplace grate. And he made me something will find out tomorrow. So will be grieving gifts to them too. All of us are pretty short money that's why I told them not to get us anything. Will be nice having a full day with them.
Sue glad DH helped you decorate the tree. Glad I wasn't the only late tree decorator. Hope you got all your wrapping done
Nadine sorry your still under the weather. Hope the store wasn't to crazy.

Lisa I feel for you. I went out to the cemetery today after I got off work and put some flowers out at DMIL grave. Third Christmas without her and sure do miss her. DH talked like he was going to help me but ended up grilling burgers and then neither of us really feel like doing anything
Jenny how was the meeting. Hope you had good times with the family.
Sue glad the iPhone was a success. I know that am so happy the kids have iPhones so we can FaceTime. DS Tyler just got internet when we was up there earlier this month and was nice to have them FaceTime the other night.
Ok going to go get my brisket going. Hope all has a very Merry Christmas 🎁🎄
