Susi yes drying out would be nice. However it 'ain't happenin' today that's for sure. On our way home from a hood walk it started to sprinkle once again. It actually felt pretty good seeing as the humidity is horrible. Now looks like the sun is trying to come out.
Tomorrow 'they say' sunshine. I am not holding my breath. I'll simply look out the window when I wake up and plan my day accordingly.
Nice that you have the winery too look forward to. Happy you had a nice time at the BBQ. Hope you see Jazz and Torin on the boardwalk before they leave.
Time for me to make lunch. Getting a little hungry.
Waving.

June, that is a good story about why you never smoked. I have a similar story about why I didn’t smoke marijuana. I tried it once in my early 20s when I was with a boyfriend at another teacher’s house. Three young men entered the home and we were held up in an armed robbery. No one was hurt but our hands were tied behind our backs and we were made to lie face down on the floor. I touched no illegal drugs after that. My dad smoked Pall Malls unfiltered and other cigarettes and my MIL was a smoker. I dislike the odor.
Cathy, the Middle East is such a man’s world. I realized I was reverting to bad vacation eating so I reset today. It was random snacking I don’t do at home.
Susi, Torin is a good helper. I made reservations at Kynsi Winery for tomorrow at 12:30. LaDonna, it’s so hard to stay OP when you’re at social events. We’ll both reset today. MJ, it’s an honor for the Kressling to participate in the funeral service. Ann, you, Carl and Benjamin need a nice rain free week without humidity.

I never tried marijuana as the smell turned me off. Wish it would have with regular cigarettes. I learned from my eye doctor that another huge downfall of cigarette smoking is macular degeneration. Wish I knew that back then!!!!! Live and learn.
Yes Audrey we surely could use a rain free week with no humidity. This weather (summer) just plain stinks!
Carl is off running errands. I decided to sit this one out as I know that one of them involves an auto parts store!

June It's hard to imagine but Kenneth used to do all this work outside after he got home from work. He and his dad raised cattle together as well. We are down to a very small herd now compared to what we used to have. I don't know yet what we will decide but I have told him to think about what he would do if he didn't have any cattle or something else to work with outside because he is mostly an outdoor person but I will leave the ultimate decision up to him. I know I already miss working in the garden but with the heat and humidity we have been having it's also nice not to be out there working in the heat. I hope going back to in person teaching will be good for you. I understand why you would never smoke after you were five. LOL. I smoked for awhile but never got in the habit. My mom smoked all the time but my dad drank and didn't smoke.
Audrey Glad everyone enjoyed last nights dinner.
Cathy Snacks happen and then we get back on track. You will get that blip off in no time. It will indeed be a change for him. We both decided if it does happen we want to find something else to do together outside since we both love being outdoors.
MJ I'm glad you enjoyed your laid back Sunday. You both deserved a day off.
Ann Glad you slept well. It's hard to believe you are getting so much rain. We have a better chance this evening and tonight but the sun is shining right now and it's 96 degrees and humid. I found everything I needed. There was one thing they didn't have that Kenneth wanted. I don't blame you for not wanting to go to the auto parts store. When Kenneth has to go I sit out in the car.
LaDonna I'm sure it is easier to stay OP when you are working. I was the same way when I worked. Now I just have to deal with it because I'm home all the time. Thanks for the good wishes. November is a few months off and we don't have to sell anything except the calves. The rest is really up to him as what he wants to do. I hope you find what you need today.
Thanks Susi. We did find most of what we wanted. The picture of Torin harvesting veggies was adorable. I'm glad you were able to spend time with family.
Audrey How horrible to be in an armed robbery.

I picked up a grilled chicken sandwich for lunch and had a healthy breakfast so far so good. June, whatever tactic your mom used to keep your from smoking was a good thing. Its a dangerous habit. Susi, hope you got to see Torin at the boardwalk. Ann, also raining here LOL Bet Carl is right in his element surrounded by auto part. Audrey, wow that's scary! I tried it many years ago but makes me too foggy and hungry. God knows I don't need anything to make me eat more LOL Becky, I'm sure K could find some other hobby to get into outside. So many options I need to learn to deal with the non work days too. They are wreaking havoc on my waist line.

I read all the posts. Just too tired to respond to all.
Early this morning played outside in the plants. Cut back all the Cosmos, as they were beginning to look like Ladies of the evening --- bedraggled.
Got offered a day-trip and took it. Sandra took me to Hammond to have lunch with my youngest sister. Met her youngest grandchild who is five for the first time. Asked her to write me a letter before I got there and tell me about who she is. She did. It was too cute and funny. We also picked up about 12 jigsaw puzzles.
Since I have been out of the circle of social media, it is no longer my thing! I am so easily changed. LOL
Hope ALL have a great day.

LaDonna Ann made agreat point. Being aware of a slip is a good thing! So did Audrey, Becky, Susi. Wanting to wear the newbie hat is another. I am driving along side you! I shared fair fries w/ R yesterday. And had a small taste of his sandwich. Today was lunch at for a focus group. I ate 3/4 ofthe bottom half of a turkey/cheese croissant, fresh fruit, & a small cookie. Not the best lunch, not the worst. I passed on summer pasta sald(do not like it), Cape Cod kettle potato chips, and a 2nd or 3 Dr cookie. No challenges the rest of the week as far as I can see. 😀

If I can avoid a 'shopping trip' I do. There really wasn't a NEED for Carl to go except the Auto Parts Store is next to Tractor Supply and he wanted to get Benjamin his kibble. It could have waited but I kept my mouth shut. Sometimes that's the BEST thing to do LOL. So I stayed put and just puttered around here. About out weather....Worcester, the City I grew up in and lived up until 14 years ago broke its 'rain record'. In 1938 they had a hurricane that dropped 11" of rain. Since July 1 they have had 16" of rain! Amazing. Seeing as we are located in Worcester county I'm sure our number is right up there! Becky you are wise to leave the ultimate decision up to Kenneth. I know whatever decision he makes you will support it. LOL LaDonna yup he most certainly IS in his element Another place that he LOVES to go to is Harbor Freight. I swear he has more flashlights then he will ever use. Thing is, he often gets coupons for a free one with a purchase. So of COURSE he has to make it a point to NEED SOMETHING....That's another place that I stay away from. One of them does have a neat gift shop so I will go in there and amuse myself! Win win June I would pat myself on the back. Your choices could have been a heck of a lot worse. The fact that you foresee no 'challenges' is a good thing. Bee before I married I would go and do jigsaw puzzles with my aunt. She had a room dedicated to putting them together LOL. HOw nice that you had lunch out with your younger sister and youngest grandchild. I bet you had a wonderful time. It's sunny now! We are supposed to get more rain later. I just hope it doesn't get inside the screen room. We love sitting out there at night. Waving........and if I don't get back will start fresh tomorrow.

Audrey OMGoodness.... your story is crazy! LOL. . . I never had any $$ for expensive vices like street drugs or alcohol as a younger woman. I put myself through undergraduate and two graduate programs through scholarship & part-time jobs. At Carnegie Mellon, I was part of 5% in the College of Humanities & Social Sciences to graduate without any debt. (Majority of the other debt- free graduates were trust fund babies from wealthy families). Yourmeal sounds amazing. Vacation eating is another ofthose out-of-kilter situations.
Susi What a great visit! Torrin is so adorable. Hope that Jasmin & the crew stopped at lunch.
Ann Ugh! I hope you got a slight break from the rain.
Bee What agreat idea! I will have to remember that w/ other little ones. So nice to spend time w/ your family.

We went out to get the cattle in and while we were in the truck it poured down. We knew it was a possibility but it was raining so hard K couldn't get out of the truck to lock the road gate after getting the mail. Then the cattle decided to go a different way besides toward home while we were getting them to one part of the pasture. K finally let me off close to the house. Scooter stayed in the house. She has a good sense of rain or windy weather. He decided to go back out to get them in for the night before dinner since it's still raining lightly. I know we got at least an inch but when he emptied the rain gauge from the last rain he forgot to close the bottom of the gauge completely so we don't know how much. There are big puddles though. This round of rain should be over by 8 or 9 and it's almost 6:00. Just isolated showers tomorrow afternoon I think which is good because Scooter has a vet appointment for her annual exam and vaccinations at 10:30 in the morning. At least we can go in with her now. She loves to ride in the car but she still whines a lot and when we get there because she only rides in the car when she has to go to the vet. She loves the attention but she whines when another dog comes near her in the waiting room. She is not used to other dogs.
At least it cooled off with the rain. It went from 96 to 75 at 6:00. Problem is it will heat back up tomorrow. Oh well. It is summer.

June, you did well with lunch considering the choices available. I went to college with a National Defense Loan. Half was forgiven if I taught three years in an inner city school. My dad sold shoes and my mom didn’t work so the budget was very tight. Bob had scholarships for all of his education.
Ann, I think the worst thing is going to a tire store. The smell is horrible. There is nothing to interest me at an auto parts store. A dollar store is a different story.
Becky, Bob’s hobby is the yard and garden. He is always finding things to repair or do. Getting the calves in during the rain is a tough job.
Bee, sounds like you had a delightful day. I watched Hayes pretend to boogie board near the shore and looked for shells. I also finished my book and started a new one.

Becky That sounds like a lot heavier rainfall than you usually report. Glad that you did not get soaked. Will be good to get Scooter into the vet for her check up and shots. Enjoy the cooler night. i wish it could last longer for you.
Audrey Good for you & Bob! My parents were also not in the position to help any of us pay for college. Joan & I thought about joining the Army to receive the GI Bill to pay for school. It had its attraction since we paid for everything ourselves except room & board. Andwe were covered by dad'shealth insirance. But we weren't committed. We were being recruited for milt, lawyers; but neither of uswanted that.
I was pleased w/ my choices given the lunch menu was unknown.
What are you reading?

Unfortunately June I have nobody to ask if they had that eye disease.
Audrey yes the smell of rubber is the pits.
Becky good luck with Scooter tomorrow.
Sorry this is short and sweet but I am exhausted.
