Happy Saturday Morning. Carol: What kind of ice cream pie do you make? I want to make one for a friend of mine but have never done it. Any tips? Janet: Two hours to mow? You must have a huge lawn. And what a workout! Sally: Laughed at your "Yes, I Can stop eating cookies". Mic Drop. Yeah, that just about sums it up for me too. Drop your hands and step away from the chips! That sorbet sounds delicious. Nat: Hope you're in Hawaii or at least resting or having fun. Well, my biopsy results were not in yet yesterday, so I wait. Had a nice Mexican meal last night to compensate. LOL My sweetie installed an old garage sink in my potting area to clean pots so I'm a happy camper and plan to clean up the bench today and plant some more seed trays. Our growing season is long Carol. No frost on the coast. Doing a lot of jigsaw puzzles too lately to keep my mind in a meditative state. Yes, the Delta Covid numbers are up here too, I am wearing masks again in public. The hospitalized people are mostly all un-vaccinated, I just don't understand the mind-set. Hope everyone has a beautiful day and enjoy summer. Stay safe. Jan

Good Saturday Afternoon, positive peeps π₯π₯!
Janet - yay for new, high efficiency, Janet-powered mower. Yikes on the pool fouling. We used to have that happen occasionally at the Y, when small children were in for day camp. Not so much other times.
Jan - hang in there with calm energy, wrapped in light.
The ice cream cake we make is very simple and not at all WW friendly: cuisinart some oreo cookies to make crumbs, spread them in a rectangular pan. take one half gal. of ice cream (we use neapolitan), slice the block in half and place pieces side by side over the crumbs. Use about 1/3 c. each of 2 different flavors of fruit preserves to make stripes on top of the ice cream. Put another layer of crumbs on top. Freeze awhile, then carefully frost with a layer of cool whip. Then very carefully use gel to decorate the top of the cool whip. Sometimes it looks great, sometimes it's a mess! I'll bet you could make a much tastier cake using your homemade ice cream and even skip the fruit preserve stripes. I hadn't even thought about doing it as a pie...could use a ready-made cookie crumb crust and just soften the ice cream enough to spoon it into the shell and optionally layer more crumbs on top. Maybe I'll try that next time. Maybe could use a smaller container of ice cream, LOL.
Sally - I clearly need to unlearn mindless eating in social situations, LOL. But it was fun. Now back to "healthy normal" I guess. Just as soon as the ice cream cake is all gone.
Nat - hellooooooo!
Yes I DID: --have a nice neighborhood walk before dinner --make a healthy shrimp stir fry for dinner, lots of veggies. And then the ice cream cake. --2 WW Zooms this a.m. & walked in place during both. Did weigh myself after all: up but still "free". But I know I need to change course before I spiral down into that black hole. This is the 3rd week in a row my weight has been up a little. Warning, warning...
Yes I CAN: --make another list of small, doable daily decluttering chores for the coming week.
Be well! Carol

Good Morning!! Love, light, blessings, and good health.
Jan yes I have a HUGE yard. I am guessing (and I am not really qualified to make this guess) that slow news is good news. Sweetie is good at providing you with things you really want/like/need - critter cam and plant sink. Yeah sweetie! I do not understand why folks are scared of a shot.
Carol the cake sounds good. What kind of gel do you frost it with? (all I could think of was hair gel!!) I think it would also be good to put more crushed cookies as layers instead of the fruit preserves. I saw a book at the library about a bunch of "dump" cakes which involve variations on combining cake mixes, fruit pie filling, and such. The next time I need to bring a cake somewhere I am bringing one of those. Really easy and use fewer dishes to prepare.
Yes I did: walk, home abs, swim before Mass, Mass, and swim after Mass. Some chores but mostly play. I have already started another load of wash and am planning walk, weights, some chores. Home abs. Still unemployed but plenty of ideas of things to do to hustle work.
Love, light, blessings, and good health, janet

Good Sunday Noon, positive peeps π£π₯!
Janet - yay for swimming before & after Mass! I'm noticing our church services are getting more and more attendees every week, as folks are slowly coming back. We used to have a big fiesta as our fundraiser every June, but this year it was split up into pieces, kids games one weekend, parking lot garage sale & food truck a couple weeks later. I didn't attend, still not loving crowds. Attendance at Mass now is mostly mask-free, although sections are reserved for those wanting/needing masks and social distancing, and priest & servers do wear masks.
P.S. I use cake decorating gel on top of the Cool whip frosting for my ice cream cake. Not sure of the brand, maybe Wilton?
Yes I did: --get up & out early for Mass --make a yummy omelette --clean up most of the messes from the b'day fest.
Yes I can: --maybe get up the energy to go for a bike ride w/Sweetie today. I warned him I need to take it slow and easy again. Still struggling to get enough hours of sleep, need to wind down earlier!
Be well! Carol

Happy Sunday Evening.
Prepping for a possible rain and thunderstorm tonight. My feeling is we are not going to get it, especially now that I have all my potting bench stuff covered and rain-proof.
Yes, I did... --color my hair this morning. During 2020 I talked my friend into trying to do it herself, and now, her husband is her colorist! LOL. --plant more seeds and transplant. Parrots decimated my sunflowers so pulling them out to put in some coreopsis, white double cosmos and scarlett zinnias. --order 2 pizzas tonight. One for us and one for my grand dame neighbor whose family is no where to be found. Happy Weekend huh?
Thanks Carol for your ice cream cake recipe. I plan to do something similar with either mint chip or mocha almond fudge, my friend's husband's favorites. Do you put butter with the crushed oreos or does the frosting bind them together? And I am sending the leftovers home with him whether his wife likes it or not! Actually she is a dear friend of mine and I will respect her wishes. No Food Pushers!
Hoping for word tomorrow on this Cancer thing. My Doc has found a surgeon for me so that's a plus. I want it out!
My new Mantra for next week: " Health is not about the weight you lose, but about the life you gain."
Jan
P.S Just found out a friend I used to work with has Covid. No vaccination, she says because she has bad reactions to them, but she is at home and getting better. Please let her get through this ok.
