WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

I’ve been collecting eggs and letting the chickens out of their protected outdoor area between 2:00-3:00 most afternoons. DH did a head count last night and we’re missing 2 😢 so I guess I’ll be keeping them fenced in. Thinking about it, we have 2 really pretty gray ones and I haven’t seen them recently. I’ll have to look this afternoon. I went to the chiropractor yesterday for the first time in almost 6 months. My calves are so tight and my feet are getting sore again. I’m going to find a massage therapist and get a deep tissue massage for my calves. Pedicure late this afternoon. Normally I do a basic pedicure, but this time I’ll get the hot towels and leg massage. Considering my increased mileage both in biking and running, I think I’m doing pretty well in regards to injuries.
Lori, sorry about the scale. Depending on the vendor, you could probably get one from Amazon delivered next day. Has your school decided what to do about masks this fall? I forget, do you have younger kids that can’t be vaccinated there? One school here is requiring masks just for kids and staff who aren’t vaccinated, and Cleveland Public Schools has a universal mask requirement.
Meg, yeah for being spot on with your estimated calories! Did you get stuff accomplished yesterday? Were you also able to relax? I love a day off when I can do both.
Nancy, i grilled 2 large salmon filets on Sunday so that gives my protein number a nice boost. Is your lunch out tomorrow?

Nancy, I like the idea of meeting at 11:00, eating then walking till 1:30!! Good for travel time also, miss all the traffic.
Jan, Glad your taking care of your tightness before it leads to other problems. Enjoy your pedicure and hope you get the massage scheduled soon. I miss my monthly massages..,,I will be shopping Amazon today. I don’t mind missing a few weigh ins but I’ve gotten use to weighing everyday and it works for me. I don’t want any surprises... Grilled salmon sounds yummy! The school is strongly urging all students to be vaccinated (ALL employees on campus must be vaccinated) if not they have specific protocols for the students who are not and parents need to sign a waiver
Meg, I’m not familiar with the calorie program your using but I’m sure once you get your normal eating entered it gets much easier...now, I basically copy, paste, make a few tweaks and Day is tracked. I’m sure it will help with counting your carbs to help keep your sugar where you like it

Scratch above stats - After 143 successful k-closed nights, I caved last night. I wanted a slice of 647 with a slice of non fat cheese. Not only did I have it, but I followed it up with 4 Kedem tea biscuits, 2 mini milky ways, a snack size kit kat, 5 mini toasts and a laughing cow wedge. So here are my revised stats and I'm considering it a binge. Dumb! I guess it's an NSV that I tracked it but still.....
C118D1, 30 purple points, 1703 calories. It's a new day yada yada yada.'
Jan - So sorry about the chickens and the feet. Hoping you find the chicks and that the massage does the trick. My lunch date was moved up to the next Friday. Just as well given the binge. I might try to do something tame for that lunch since Lori is the day before and then Steve will be here the whole next week. Yikes! It will all be a good lesson in exercising control (from my mouth to God's ears <g>).
Lori - It's a date! How much mac and cheese do you have? I was thinking of trading one for a linguini which you didn't mention having. Or maybe elbows if you have them. No worries though. I'm fine with the linguini.

Day 155. Doing well. Tracking calories is tedious but I'll stick with it for a while at least.
Nancy: Look at the positive side: 143 K-closed is an amazing accomplishment! Tell yourself what you would tell US!
Jan: Interesting about the tight calf muscles. I have them, too (hereditary, I'm told by the podiatrist). I hadn't thought of a massage - sounds painful! Let me know any other tips you have/things you do.
Lori: So far I don't like Cronometer as well as MFP, but maybe cause I'm not used to it yet. I may switch back to MFP and use a new log-in; the thought of deleting hundreds of foods and recipes that I don't use any more is daunting!
Peace to all!

Meg - The more you track calories, the less tedious it becomes - that's because the program starts to know your regular items and brings them up automatically - at least that the the way it works with MFP. Every time I finish up a day on MFP, I delete half a dozen items - takes a few seconds instead of spending endless time deleting them all at once. Thanks for showing me the positive side of things - better to celebrate the many successes rather than obsess over the one failure. I feel better already <g>.
