WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going

Happy Scale moving average 139.5 vs last week 138.2 (this was the week with the two nightime binges) - lots of challenges coming up but I'll do my darnedest.

We went to a wine bar last night for a friend’s birthday. Live music and lots of fun. I had a hard cider and part of a wine slushy that was much too sweet. Eating wasn’t great but probably what I would call “normal”. I did run and ride my bike, as per my usual weekend activity. I’m taking DH for a surprise birthday overnight on Wednesday. www.brewdog.com/usa/locations/hotels/doghouseAs far as I know he hasn’t heard of this place, so he’ll be surprised. I think it opened just before the pandemic began. Yes, we’re taking Roscoe. Lori, the cake Friday night was definitely worth it. I’m not sure the cake I had yesterday was. Isn’t it funny how picky we become about how we spend our calories? Oh no, Kathy. I hope it’s not Lyme disease, but I’m glad you’re getting tested. From what I’ve heard, if you don’t realize you’ve been bitten by a tick it can be very hard to diagnose. Meg, yay on the brunch! Nancy, how are your aide duties going this weekend? I think you have a lot to be proud of re: your eating and weight. You’re consistently under 140. A few years ago, could you imagine that?

Hi again. Picnic was successful - ate only my planned food, and there were no communal offerings.
TTY tomorrow!

C59. D2. What a RELIEF to have two controlled days under my belt. Since my dog has Lymes and we walk together (can't get it from the dog, but the shared environment) the doctor put me on treatment for Lymes. Better safe than sorry.
Nancy - sorry to hear about the two nighttime binges. But I see you are on D4! so you are definitely back on the beam.
Lori - Dang on the overeating and feeling stuffed. Tomorrow is a new day.
Meg- good job on managing the picnic food!
Jan- so nice that you have something planned for DH's birthday. But Roscoe along??
Hi to all who follow. I will be back tomorrow.

Jan - Can I come? As for me as aide this weekend, we did better on Saturday than Sunday. Next Saturday Steve and Leila will be here AND my grocery order comes AND it's our anniversary AND I'm the aide. A nightmare in the making.
Meg - Yeah for you! I'm going to try to follow your lead this upcoming challenging week.
Lori - Oh no! We don't expect that from you. Makes you sound almost human <g>.
Kathy - Smart Doctor. I guess he did some testing and is medicating you just in case it shows up positive. Is that the idea? Kudos on D2. Happy you've decided to be here tomorrow as well.
