This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc. 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

MINDFUL MONDAY... Back on track - back to tracking, drinking liquids, moving more, and focused. I made 3 jar salads yesterday (I am off Wed. & Thurs.) and I have cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes, peaches and string cheese for snacks! Just need to load the lunch bag and off I go!! I am NOT looking forward to being back in the office, but doing what I have to do! I do have 2 things on my "to do" list that can only be done IN the office ON my PC. I am also fairly caught up on settlements - only 1 week "behind" now. Holly is out this week, so I have a couple of her tasks that can only be done in the office - so the timing is good. It's all good... just need to get back in the swing of the packing lunch - the commute - the drama of it all.
Yesterday I had a very lazy day! OH I did get the produce prepped and salads made. I got dishes done and potatoes cooked to go with the leftover chicken and vegetables. Other than that - I sat and watched DVR'd shows pretty much All.Day.Long.! I sat out on the porch for a little while - after the rains stopped and the sun came out. I admit to feeling a little angry with myself for NOT getting anything done in the dining room. This project has gone on long enough! I NEED to make myself get it done!! Hoping August is a dryer month, so maybe paint will dry?

Gabrielle: Oh yes, I also cleaned out the fridge yesterday! Not much in there to throw out, but it seems "empty" now! LOL Ugh your long run sounds tough - in that heat, glad you spent some time with DH and yes - DRINK PLENTY OF LIQUIDS! I hope your Sunday was satisfying for you {{{hugs}}}
Yes, more rain... no July is not typically this rainy. Oh yes, we get rain every July, but not this non-stop rain we have had this year. My friend Marie, who rents tubes on the water, has had the worst July since she opened 25 years ago!
Tracy is doing well, thanks for asking. She is definitely getting tired, and today she will nap in the morning, then hike with Bob, then she picked up a shift for tonight - her night off! Yes she & Bob are still going strong.
Sue: LOL I had a very lazy morning - I ended up upstairs watching TV until around noon! Any word from DB Jim? How DM is doing?
Jenny: YAY for Audrey finding friends before moving in! I wish they had that when Tracy went away. UUGH Her 1st roommate was a doozy! WOO HOO for knowing you can do this!! Yes you have the tools and the knowledge, and your health is so very important. How was your walk? Sorry you are dealing with the heat and no rain out there.
Yes... back - to - the - office - for me today.
Sue: My goodness you got a lot baked yesterday. Yes, thanks - I think Eden will remember the day. LOL "poor" Tracy... she picked up a shift tonight! Silly girl! I think she had picked it up, before she knew about all the forces last week - and this coming week. Today she will nap at Patti's house. With no one living there it will be quiet for her. Not even a dog or cat to deal with! LOL
Oh dear - sorry Jim and Annie seem oblivious to the fact your DM needs more help. I would think when she returns to assisted living - now would be the time to put her in the more care type unit. I assume it's all in the same place? DMIL was in her own room, and then got moved upstairs to the more intense nursing home side. Same with Uncle Dick & Aunt Susie - he was in the apartment side and she was in the more care unit. Anyway - I hope Jim & Annie figure this out before your DM does break something in a fall!
Ugh - I would NOT want to have to individually wrap all those muffins and breads! LOL

I think today is supposed to be a nice day - time will tell. Right now I hear birds chirping, no rain falling - very foggy and only 63 degrees!
OK Time to get myself motivated to get ready for work. With construction in three different sections of town it is sometimes a long commute just to get out of town!
Remain MINDFUL today - tracking is a huge part of MY MINDFULNESS, so I will get back to that today as well!
♥hugs♥

Good Morning! Yesterday morning I spent some time just reading and getting caught up on all your posts! I ran out of time to post afterwards - Had a good weekend. Saturday was a good day - met Cindy down at the peninsula and we walked/talked for over an hour - saw that we did 3.5 miles along the beach road and I felt good afterwards - no foot pain, no knee pain (wore my brace) - and we got caught up on her school district changes. Her position changed to Director of Student Support and another administrator will take Special Ed - so I no longer have Cindy as my contact, go-to person I need to really get more reports done! I feel behind... Saturday afternoon Linds and I went to a fundraiser at another Brewery - it was okay. Great music, all outdoors but rains came about an hour into the event so we went inside and sampled some local craft beers. It was nice. I just like our Brewery we frequent better - much better outdoor seating/patio - but it was nice to try somewhere new. Sunday I prepped meals in the morning, then around 1:00 headed to the Beach! It was SO GREAT - very nice - found a good spot with not too many families with little ones (they kick up a lot of sand lol) and enjoyed the hot sun. Came home and grilled chicken to have with a salad, watermelon and steamed broccoli. Facetimed with Carly and Ben last evening. Today is Ben's First Day on his new job, so they were excited. She showed me around their apartment to see what they did getting settled in - her couch arrived Saturday which was a HUGE plus! She has throw pillows which drives Ben nuts as he has no where to sit! LOL They'll figure it out. Carly is coming here Tuesday afternoon. After work I'll meet her for some shopping for pictures/wall hangings for their apartment. Then dinner. It will be nice!

Carole - good to hear Tracy and Bob are going strong. And ugh to all the hours she is putting in at work. It sounds exhausting. You sound ready for the work week and going in to the Office. I wish I could work remotely a few days a week during the summer - but the Prince got all weird when I asked if I could - "WHY??" he demanded. Eww, not worth fighting that attitude. Sorry the RAIN keeps hitting your area. I think we are finally drying out here - I swear it rained non-stop for weeks since July 4th weekend. My flowers are still struggling to make a come back - the ones that were in a container did fare better. Yes, we had a few hazy days here from the CA Fires too - go figure. Our Air Quality Alert was going off warning folks to not venture outside those days. Sue - love that you got all that baking done. Whew, I bet it was hot in your kitchen! Saw your Painting on FB - looks like it was a lot of fun. Oh, I told Gary to watch for that swimmer in the Olympics who is near your hometown. That is so cool. We honestly have not been watching much of the Games until last night, Women's Gymnastics - Good luck this week finding a routine again after your Staycation. Will Hannah and the Boys be swinging through one more time this week? I got a little confused with their agenda lol Gabrielle - yep, still finishing up some Summer projects at work too. Had a few side-bar projects that popped up too which took time away from original projects. I did get nearly all our incoming K students screened and created data spreadsheets for class placements. I think Barbie and Queen B are about finished with that project - yes, it takes 2 of them, attached at the hip still, to do the work of one. I just shake my head. Oh, and Dragon Lady is STILL hovering. Her official last day is August 6. Two more weeks until Independence Day for me lol I overheard that she is moving to North Carolina. PLEASE just leave - go - but we all know she'll continue to hover for a while. Jenny - love that you know that YES you CAN do this Weight Loss journey, we just gotta get our brains on board! Happy to hear Audrey connected with new friends before getting on campus. Lindsey did the same - and it helped - she is still friendly with her Freshman Year roommate - they are not BFFs but they had a good year together. Sounds like things are falling in place for her move to college YAY! I am enjoying my emptied DR. Tremendously. I spent some time Saturday cleaning and just glancing over at the space left from Carly's apartment furniture and stuff. It's all good. I read and read about Keto Diet. I feel ready to start the journey - just waiting (a bit nervous) from my doctor for her interpretation of my recent bloodwork. I read the results - not good - crazy how much my blood levels changed in one year - everything bad went up, and the good things went south - so yes, it is time for a major life style change - and I am ready! I plan to start today with slowly decreasing carbs - I am enjoying the Carb Manager app - very eye opening - who knew Blueberries are NOT Keto Friendly!

Good Morning
Yesterday I went on my walk and even brought DH with me, it was only a 20 min walk but it did us good, going to do it again tonight after work. It's going to be 93 today but the walk is really pretty shaded with tree's so I'll try it. We got the hammock hung and yes, Audrey was in it all morning. I sat in it last night when it was a bit cooler and I could of fell asleep in it. I also got the watering done and then got some bushes trimmed up before it got to hot, so all in all I got a lot done.
Today I will call the clinic and get that nuclear stress test scheduled, I think I can schedule it in mychart that we have set up that tells you everything about your visit's. I know yesterday when I wrote about it being strange about meeting people on line, then I thought what Sue said, we all met on line so it's really not that strange is it?
This week I work everyday, I think they forgot that I like 4 10's but that's ok cause I like the money as well. My boss was on vacation so Holly did the schedule. Yes, WWOW is still here working 3 day's a week, I really wish she would retire and move on then I could work close to home, but I have a feeling she's not going to retire. I mean all her kids are grown up and out of the house and she has no boyfriend or husband so why retire. Who knows we will see.
Gotta run for now I hope everyone has a great day

Good afternoon!
I simply ran out of time this morning and set aside some time to pop in this afternoon. I worked at the fruit stand yesterday afternoon and it was HOT....I was beat when I got home so didn't finish the "work-work" I had hoped to do so I did it this morning. Just grateful to have the time to check in here as you all keep me grounded...thank you!
Carole: It sounds like you are ready for the week in the office. I hope that the construction wasn't too bad after all--maybe you timed it just right? I had temporarily forgotten about how new your fridge is...it probably still looks great! Mine looks MUCH better--I still need to clean out the lower freezer though. That is for next weekend! So glad that Tracy is feeling better and enjoying Bob's companionship. How is Ken's cough? I hope that it is better! I remember something that Sue said about it seeming that your weeks in the office seemed to be more planned--it will be interesting to see, won't it? I thought about it after she said it--I think that it is true for me. I am not as self-disciplined as I should be with some things. Wow, so much rain for you -- and sorry to hear how it is affecting businesses. I hope that you see some consistent sunshine soon!
Jenny: So...did you make that appointment? You know us, we are your accountability partners! Seriously, we want you happy and healthy! So, did you get to enjoy that hammock? Flip Audrey out and climb in there! So you will work five 10's this week? Or 5 regular days? I am so amazed by the size of the fires in your state! They are big here, but it is truly astounding in OR. Hope that there is some kind of break soon. Hope that you have a good day--sounds like you and DH will be walking--great plan (and you can hold one another accountable).

Christine: How fun to be seeing Carly and shopping for her new place. It is a whole new world when our kids are REALLY moved out. How did Ben's first day go? So exciting for them! Hooray for a pain-free walk on Saturday (plus good company). Oh, so sorry about your lab results...it must feel good to have a plan on the horizon though. And we know you---you will research it thoroughly! Sounds like a fun time with Linds too--glad that you had time for just the two of you. August 6th...we are counting the days! I can't speak for the Prince, but we have had a tight reign here on people working remotely as, if one person gets to do it, then 10 others want to do it and it is hard to determine who is a hard "no". It has been a REAL challenge. Some have resigned because of it. I hope that the Prince is at least being equitable. So, who will be in charge when DL is gone? We want CHRISTINE!
Sue: Wow, so much baking! I am with Christine, your kitchen must have been one warm room! It all looks so yummy though. I saved some older bananas and need to make some bread from them when I get home...DH LOVES banana bread. I think that it's great that you are exposing the boys to live theater----I took the boys to about 5 different things and they LOVED it. They both went to the music/art camp every summer from grades 5-12 and loved that too---such fun times. DH is not a big fan of live performances so I might have to find some things and take one of the boys with me! I hope that your computer was all taken care of when you got to work and that you had a good day!
Hello to Lisa and all who follow. I need to sign off and prepare for my 3:00 pm Zoom. Hope that you all have a good evening.

Ok my appt is set for August 12th at 8:15am it's a 3 hour test so I guess I'll bring a book and read and I need to fast from all caffeine for 12 hours and fast from food 4 hours before the appt. It's the same place Kerry's cardiologist is at so I feel comfortable about that. Just thought you all would like to know my appt's made, Oh and I finally got the loan application for Audrey's college year done as well. It was really simple.
Ok need to run
