Good morning friends. Slept well and grateful. Woke up to dense fog and can just about see our neighbor's home.
No plans for the day which I love. Will play it all by ear.
Judy happy you had a good time at the cape despite the weather. I do not blame you in the least taking a 'realtor break' That's exactly how we felt. Like you, dealing with 'family issues' we were dealing with losing LuLa at the same time. It's a lot to have on your plate all at once. Please be gentle with yourself.
Praying for the court date for DD.
It did clear up here so we were able to get in some good hood walks. That always helps.
Waving and will CBL

Hi Ann and friends,
It's a beautiful day and I've been busy with work stuff all morning. I hope to sit on the deck at noon and relax a bit before I have to "clear out" for another showing at 3:30. This is the one coming back for the second time. I'm praying to St. Joseph that this will bring about a positive outcome.
I thought about trotting over to Walmart for a couple things at noon, but decided I would rather relax. We needed some doggie treats but maybe later. I slept so-so again last night. I was up late paying bills and organizing some things.
Eating has been mediocre lately. We had the fresh chicken pot pies from the dairy case for dinner. Forget the name but it was good enough. Not nearly as good as the ones from Harrows in Boston but ok. They are the absolute to die for chicken pies!
Big news!!!!! Our DDIL is in labor now at the hospital so we are on pins and needles until we hear. Today is the DAY baby boy #2 will be here. They went in at 5:30 this morning so we are hoping and praying that all goes well with her labor and delivery. It's always a miracle. She has done very well throughout her pregnancy until some high blood pressure a few weeks ago. My phone is glued to my hip today.
Have a great day and I'll be in touch. Reading another Elin Hillenbrand Nantucket book. Summer of 69... Waving to everyone.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday! We are still stuck in the HHH weather for a couple more days! Honestly, I have had quite enough of this! I need some outdoor time and it just isn't attractive with our current weather.
Ann ~ Sorry about your fog. We had that yesterday as well. Everything is dripping wet outside just from the high humidity. Yay for your walks! I need to get back to it but not until it cools down.
Judy ~ Glad you got to enjoy the family time. I agree that you need to tell the realtors when the house is not available based on YOUR schedule! It shouldn't make a huge difference to them anyway. I agree that a second look is encouraging.
Pam ~ Hope things are going well at your house!
This weekend I found that someone/something has been sleeping in my flower bed in the front. All my daisies and black-eyed-Susans are bent over away from the house and I swear I can see the 'imprint' of a small body. Yesterday DH went out and sprinkled his rodent detractor powder there and we straightened the flowers a bit. Fortunately they are not broken, just bent. This morning the spot looks like we left it yesterday afternoon, so apparently the detractor worked overnight! Now I need to spend some more time straightening the long stems and making them pretty again. I will do that before it gets any hotter outside.
The next town over suffered a tornado night before last and the whole area was a mess yesterday morning. We had torrential rains and straight line winds, and many many trees went down. I stayed home yesterday, but my DH went out and about and said the roads were a mess between traffic lights not working (power outages) and trees across roads; then add in the clean-up and repair crews! Many people in our area are still without power, and my heart just aches for them. I can't imagine being without power in this heat not to mention the food going to waste. DH said every restaurant he passed was full to capacity, then we remembered that all those people without power were no doubt having to eat out (I know we would).
I don't have anything on my calendar today either. I made a pot of bean/veggie soup last night and just finished packaging it up to freeze some and put some in the refrigerator. I have been out a few days and so it really sounds GOOD! Today I simply MUST get back OP and stick to it for a while. No excuses!
BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy praying to St Joseph right along with you. Good sign they are coming back.
Also prayers that baby boy #2 arrives today in perfect health along with his mommy. Keep us posted.
Went for a short walk. It was too hot for Benjamin and we never push him.
Waving.

Hi Judy ~
We were posting at the same time. Yay for your new baby boy! Keep us posted. Best of luck with the second timers!
I meant to mention that I finished my book yesterday (the one I restarted). I enjoyed the story, but there was no ending per se. It is part of an ongoing series, and though the next one in the set focuses on a different main character, I think I've had enough of that time period for a while. So I picked up a light romance to read today.
I got a call from my Chevrolet salesman this morning. I had received a Preferred Customer letter from the dealership offering some good pricing, but of course they have no inventory to speak of. The chip shortage has hit our dealerships HARD. Nonetheless, we chatted about some options and he suggested I come in for a sit down and I will go tomorrow after my Fitness Class. I still have 10 more months on my lease should I opt to just keep it. The other option is purchasing my Trax since the purchase price is listed on my lease agreement, and not subject to the inflated used car prices in play currently.
Later .....

Yeah to finishing your book, Sue. Second time was the charm LOL. Good luck at the car dealership tomorrow. I hope they make you a great deal on something that you really love.
We went for another short jaunt to get the mail. It was the copay from my eye exam and I called to have it put on my credit card. Due to covid they no longer have anyone manning the desk to pay when you go. Times have changed.
I also called to schedule cleaning appointments for Carl and I at our dentist and they can't 'fit us in' until 12/14! Oh well. I did ask if they have any cancellations to please let us know and she assured us that they would.
Now I am going to have lunch and after that read a bit.
Pam hope all is well with you and DH.
Waving....

We have a new Grandson! 8 lbs 13 oz Blake arrived tonight!! All is well and he’s beautiful and chubby with a full head of hair. We are all thrilled! I’ll try to drive down to see him before we go to CA.
We’ve watched the swimming and now diving on the Olympics. I’m always amazed by the gymnastics too!
Sue, this microchip shortage is something! My monthly dinner friend has a son who is an executive for a big yacht and boating company in Florida. He has 26 yachts sold and waiting to be released waiting for chips!! Imagine that!
We had some optimistic news from the couple who viewed the house for the 2nd time. We reserve any excitement until we hear something but I thought of Ann. Their realtor told me that they want no part of bidding wars. We told them we don’t do that and will take the first best offer we get. They had other questions about the house that I answered. We will see. It’s a long process but at least we know we at least have some interest!
Have a great night all.

So very happy that the folks that had a repeat look are not into the 'bidding war' To me that is a smart move on their part. Nice that you answered questions they had. I remember when we were selling our first home on Benjamin Road. We had 2 full price offers and had to decide. One couple was very young and not too friendly...the other couple were a bit older...the guy escaped from a concentration camp and the woman was a wound care nurse service related. Needless to say we chose the second couple and you would think they won the lottery. They sent us flowers candy and a wonderful thank you card for choosing them. Carl and I will never forget that. I don't remember their name as it was a long Polish name. My guess is they are still living there..... Praying that this couple makes an offer that you feel is good and the bank approves. Congratulations on your new grandson. Love the name May God bless him. Would love to see a picture when you get them I took our final hood walk and let me tell you those mosquitoes are brutal. I got eaten alive. A friend gave me some Avon skin so soft as she swears by it. I've used that before with no luck but figured ok I'll it it a whirl. Nope they still just LOVE ME. I put on after bite as soon as I came home and when that dried (I used a LOT) I put Benadryl gel on top of it. FInally they stopped itching...but I have HUGE red welts. I will repeat that process before I go to bed. Sweet dreams all.

Good evening!
Congratulations on the new grandson, Judy!!! Blake sounds like my kind of baby--big and robust. I'm so glad things went well for mama and baby. I have a good feeling about the "second-timers". They sound ready to buy.
Ann- Insect repellent with DEET is the only thing I have found that truly repels them. I hate the smell and greasiness of insect repellent but I hate the bites worse. You have my sympathy!
Sue - I got a letter from the dealership enticing me to trade in my Highlander. But the strings attached ---must buy the new one from what they have on the lot and finance with them at a rate higher than what I know my credit union is offering, so it's a definite no-go for me. My car only has about 59,000 miles on it and a Toyota will usually make 180,000 with no major problems. DD3's inlaws lost some treetops in the storm and were without power for a day and a half. Luckily, there was no major damage to their home.
I could have sworn I posted on Sunday, but I guess not. I spent the morning resting and the afternoon cleaning in the guest rooms. I took everything out of the "toy closet" and got it all sorted and arranged so the kids can easily find things. I am sure it won't stay like that for long!
Today, HH nurse came at 8:00 and then I started laundry. We left at 10:00 to go to town for DH's appointment with his PCP. I dropped him off and went to the hospice office to do some work. I am covering for my supervisor this week while she's on vacation. I had a good visit with my therapist this afternoon and have another appointment in 3 weeks. She gave me some tips on something called Quick Coherence Technique, which teaches your body how to calm down in a crisis. I was worried that she might be deciding to retire, but she reassured me she has cut back to 2 days per week, but plans to keep working. I am glad, because she knows me well and also because she dealt with a diabetic husband and understands how frustrating that can be.
Tomorrow, I will attend a strategic planning session with the credit union upper management from 9:00-1:00. A friend will be taking DH to his treatment and DH really likes him, so that is good. I will be home in plenty of time to cook our dinner, which will be shrimp & pasta primavera. I have ordered a shrimp & avocado salad for lunch, so it will be a low point day, as the shrimp and whole wheat pasta are zero points on purple plan.
I finished another Poldark series audiobooks today. I am also reading the first Elly Griffiths book. Sue, was it you that like her as an author? It may have been ksbruns (Kathy) who used to post here. I found the list of books and requested the first from the library some time ago and it just showed up. It's a mystery and I am enjoying it so far.
Sweet dreams to all!
