Welcome to the Clutter Patrol, formerly CLUTTERBUSTERS thread. We are a daily thread, Monday thru Friday, and we have a combined weekend edition Saturday and Sunday. We welcome new members and are a friendly, helpful and supportive group.
Our purpose is for support and sharing of tips and strategies in dealing with weight and clutter issues in our lives. Many feel that the two are often tied together. So, we will lend a caring ear, and hopefully give and learn tips to help all of us.
We want to remove at least 5 items or spend at least 15 minutes clutter busting today!
Remember, it didn't pile up in one day so it isn't going away in a day either. One organizer says: you don't have to stop everything to get organized, you just have to start somewhere.

Good morning,
Had a nice busy day yesterday. After church DB, DSIL and I went to a parish event. They used to call them lawn fetes, now they are called festivals. Enjoyed late lunch, had beer, listened to music, walked around a bit, spent some money on games too. Had a nice time.
When I got home I had energy so I trimmed the bush/tree that took root years ago. Will cost too much to have it removed, so I only trim it back a couple of times in the summer months. I’m going to try to kill the bush with salt and vinegar this fall. For now all is good. Bundled everything for trash pickup this week.
Was on TikTok last night and saw a fun weekly health challenge. It’s not specifically about losing weight. Every Monday you get another weekly task or two, build on the previous weeks. This is week 3, so I have some catching up. Week 1 was drinking 2 glasses of water before morning coffee, and walking around your house (for me that was about 200 steps) every hour during the day. I turned on my Fitbit setting for hourly walks. The point of that is to get out of the habit of sitting around for too long, I get that. Week 2, add thinking of 2-3 things you want to accomplish and accomplishing it. Doesn’t have to be anything huge, today I chose Windexing my mirrors in bathroom and both bedrooms (done). I’m going to put together a list of tasks today and check them off when done, 2 at a time. Week 3, all about sleep. Can choose from a list (turn off screens 10 minutes before going to bed, read a few pages from a book, listen to meditation - anything to get you ready for bed - make it a daily habit). Not sure how many weeks this challenge goes for, but it’s fun.
Today I’m bringing the stuff for Thursday Amvets pickup and putting it in the living room. I can continue to add, but at least most is set to go.
Saturday was a slow day at work. End of day said “see you in September “ to the sales guys that are on layoff (my sales guy was one of them). It’s going to be a lot quieter these next 6 weeks. But they will all be back.
Enjoy your day

Joyce, your day with your DB and DSIL sounded nice. We have been to those festivals in the past. Sorry to hear that the sales guy you like is one of them laid off. Hopefully September will be a good month for the dealership.
Waving to Ruth and Martha, hope you both had a good weekend.
I was down in the basement in our closet and can’t believe that I found another box of paperwork that has SSNs on it. I plan on going thru everything tonight while we watch TV and get some ready for shredding and the rest should be able to be recycled. I hope to finish a book this afternoon and then go to the basement and see what else is still down there.

(((HUGS))) Got stuff done yesterday. Currently, a small load of my laundry is in washing. Lunch is about to be eaten - planned overs. Dinner tonight is tuna fish casserole. Working on paper piles beside recliner (remnents of cookbooks toss) and then will mix up choc chip cookies. Attempting to use outside George grill for baking.
Have to take out compost before DH gets home. I told him I'd take it out yesterday. Oops!
Our weather is heating up again, to the 90's for about 5 days. Not looking forward to it.
Time to toss clothes in dryer and eat lunch.
Hugs to all~

Good afternoon all. It’s really warm here, a “possible” chance of rain tonight; then possibly 97 on Wednesday! Then high 80’s for end of week and weekend!
Dottie, so nice to get rid of all those books. And splitting up to each deliver a few boxes was a great idea. I still have some books and I need to get them out in the next Epilepsy pick up. They are the only local ones who will take books here. Isn’t it scary how many papers keep turning up with SS#’s on them and other info you don’t want “out there”?!!
Joy, do you have any cars on the showroom floor for people to look at? Or any for them to test drive? I’ll bet your previous car sold right away because you take such good care of them! Sorry your favorite salesman is gone. Your Sunday with your DB sounds like fun!
Martha, what kind of issues is your car having? Did you make progress on your bedroom clean out? Are you still getting the extreme temps? Are any of the forest fires near you?
Dottie, H/S know just which buttons to push on each other and their mother! Having Mara here was a good distraction for them! They are SOOOO ready to be back in school and in a routine! Sawyer especially needs it. She loved her visit at our older DD’s house. And she got to bake & decorate cupcakes with her cousin Kira! And someone asked about Mara and potty training!!! Still no real progress. She will sit on it, but she still hides in a corner when she “poos” and she can get up in the morning with a diaper hanging to her knees it’s so wet and she couldn’t care less!! One of these days we’re just going to have to sit her on it every 15 min or so and put her in little girl pants with a pull-up over them and do nothing else until we catch her and she gets the hang of it!!! Ugh!
We got mail today that sort of irritated me. We have our Visa CC thru AARP due to the rewards you get. AARP has sold that contract to a MasterCard company starting mid-September!!! So just like when your account gets hacked and you have to get a new card # and then try to figure out which all accounts are paid automatically from it; notify them of the change; then change it with your bank if you have it on auto-pay, etc. So I will have to make a list, check it twice, update it multiple times, and then remember the exact dates when all of this happens. And the really frustrating thing is; as of Sept. 20; you will no longer be allowed into the old Chase account if you need to look something up. They recommend you print out any old files you think you might need. Don’t understand the why of it, but it is what it is!
I contacted my DBIL to see how he had scanned a bunch of pictures they got from DM’s house. He put them on a thumb drive for me. I asked about kind of scanner, program, etc. and got some good info. Stan ordered a scanner that is a little less fancy so that I can scan pictures that Stan’s niece’s want and I want for our children also. I’m having a hard time deciding what (if any) pictures I actually want to keep here. But until I get more sorted, it’s not a big problem!!!
Just finished the new Debbie Macomber book: “It’s Better This Way”. A very good book. I just got it this weekend and finished it. Kept my interest from the 1st page. Her last couple before this are still sitting on the bookshelf because they didn’t do that.
Going downstairs to work on pulling out those sleepers and other things I think my hair stylist will buy for her 4 mo old little girl, Azlyn. The rest I want to get sorted and photograph and list or donate.
Really enjoying the Olympics. Especially the swimming, gymnastics, etc. And we are watching a lot of events we normally wouldn’t see.
Have a good day all.
