This thread is for all of us who have been on the weight loss merry-go-round quite a few times. We have banded together to make this our FINAL time. We offer support & motivation, WEIGHT LOSS TIPS, food ideas – whatever you need to make it your FINAL time. If you start the day’s thread, please copy and paste this paragraph, with the following 2021 Goals:
Carole: 1.) Journal Daily, thoughts, feelings, ideas 2.) Track daily, Good, Bad, Ugly, HONESTLY 3.) Move every day, 10-30 minutes, as able 4.) Limit/Reduce Alcohol, All of it! 5.) Be thankful for something - every day
Gabrielle 1. Wellness--take steps each day to address better wellness (moving, attention to my eating, getting sleep, etc.) 2. Debt-- continue to take steps to eliminate debt (including the kids college debt that we are covering) so that I have no debt when I retire 3. Connectedness-- each month have a plan to stay connected to those who I care about (maybe dinner once/month after COVID, Zoom, phone calls, etc. 4. Creativity -- seek out projects that keep me using the creative side of my brain (knitting, paint parties?, etc.) 5. Journaling/Self-Awareness--find a way to journal my thoughts and to think through challenges and opportunities
Sue: 1. Get moving - plan to utilize my Cubii 3-5 times per week at least 2. Moderation - limiting junk, snacks, wine and all things I know that sabotage my success 3. Daily Gratitude - continue our November daily gratitude. 4. Start a journal - my "Life & Apples" journal will arrive later in the week. 5. Be more "present" - in life, in my journey, with family & friends, in all aspects of my world
Jenny: 1) I'm moving to a clean eating plan like more veggie dishes and less red meat 2) I pulled out my Bob Harper from the Biggest Loser's " Yoga for weight loss DVD" and do that in the evening since it's pouring down rain here. 3) Cut way back on the wine at nights, they sell those tiny little bottles that have 5oz in them and limit myself to only 1-2 per day, that can work right? 4) Track everything even if I'm in the negatives and hold myself accountable
Christine: 1. Cardio exercise daily (walk, stationary bike) 2. FOLLOW the WW Plan using Honesty. 3. Daily gratitude - Say something NICE each morning
Karen: 1. Take one step at a time and be kind to myself. 2. Move by getting my kayak on the water at least one day per week... it will be more as the weather warms. 3. Stick to my intermittent fasting schedule. 4. Try to sleep reasonably
Shelly: 1. Be more organized at work. Never leave with stuff on my desk 2. Be there for people when they need someone to lean on 3. Stick with WW plan!!! No matter what!!!! 4. Be a better influence on those around me.

TAKE TIME TUESDAY - TAKE TIME my friends to do something for yourself ♥ What will it be for you today?? For me - I will take time to TRACK and move. Back to the office and back on track with my water! LOL That's a goal for next week - to continue my water - seltzer - tea even while working from home! I think part of my funk last week - was winding down from all the things we've had going on the past 5-6 weeks! Feeling ambivalent about NOT having everyone here this past Sunday. IT was weird - as much as I was looking forward to a weekend of no plans... I also felt "lost" by NOT planning anything! I don't know how to explain it. Anyway - THIS week, I need to remain focused and plan for the work week ahead!
I am off tomorrow and Thursday - so I am not sure what my eating/drinking/moving will be like. I think it's a 4 hour drive out to Rome, NY! It's pretty much all highway - if I remember correctly - so rest rooms may/may not be readily available!

Christine: Nice to see you Sounds like a nice chance to chat and MOVE with Cindy on Saturday. Good for you - wearing your brace and being pain free!! Sorry she is no longer your contact - good luck with getting those reports done! Glad you & Linds tried a different brewery... We have so many around here (well 30+ minute drive) but we have never been to any! Sunday sounded nice too - so lucky to get a few hours in at the beach - in the hot sun!! Oh nice - sounds like you and Carly will have some fun girl time - shopping. ♥
Sue: LOL I kept saying that yesterday too! Retirement sure looks good to me right now! Oh I hope your computer upgrade went smoothly!
Christine: LOL Yes, I was OK with going in yesterday, and today... a few things cannot be done remotely - so I am focused on them for these few days. Yes this relationship is good for Tracy. Although I think she needs more sleep right now - the fact that they go out and hike/walk a LOT... they are both interested in Geocaching - so it gets them out of the house and into the fresh air and sunshine (when it's not raining). They even hike in the rain - if it's not "storms"! Although they do both like to sit and enjoy a rainy day of movies too.
Yes... a friend posted a warning that she received - about the haze and smell "may be toxic"? I was only out for my short lunch break - hot and sunny - at the picnic table. AS much as I prefer to be home when it is hot and sunny - I am hoping for DRY weather to travel to NY and back!
UGH That DL is still hanging around... but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
With the menu from Sunday, I thought you had already started your KETO... except for the watermelon! LOL Yeah, not many fruits are KETO friendly! A friend of ours is doing it - and she is always posting about the foods she makes for her family, but she can't eat. {{{hugs}}} and good luck to you as you start on this newer path! Hopefully the Dr will still be on board for the change?
Jenny: YAY for you and Dh going for a walk. Hey 20 minutes is 20 minutes. Years ago - when I lost my 60+#, that's what I did... about 20 minutes walking on my way to work each day. Back when I walked to work - at the pizza house. I would go East for 10 minutes then turn around and get back to the pizza house in time to start work! I think 20 minutes a day is a great start to your journey.
UGH Sorry WWOW is still there. At least it's not full time! LOL I never have to worry about people thinking that about me... WWOW and DL just don't know when to give it up! I surely will... no one will be wondering WHY I am still hanging around!
Gabrielle: IT does sound HOT - working at the fruit stand these days. So glad you and DH can enjoy that time together though.
LOL No - our new fridge is still FULL most of the time... things get "lost", and I end up with some pretty creepy things coming out of there! LOL It looks great now though!
Yes, working IN the office, I have to be more prepped, since I do not like to order out or go out for lunch. There is also no place for snacks - unless I walk up to CVS, and the snacks I would buy would NOT be in my best interest! LOL SO when I am home, the choices are much more "available" each day - and I lose my focus. The thing is - I don't eat lunch most days either. I just sort of snack my way through the day! SO next week I hope to have a plan in mind and keep myself to a water/tea "schedule" as if I were in the office. "Self-discipline" is NOT a trait I am familiar with, I'm afraid!
Jenny: WOO HOO for making that appointment.

I came home yesterday to broad band working! I am still having an issue with my new tablet - but it's not Wi-Fi related. Time will tell how this goes - kind of waiting for Tracy and all of her stuff to be "on" when I am to truly test this system! The phone is scheduled to be switched today - so by the end of the week, I may be able to CANCEL VERIZON!! This will save us some $$, but more importantly if it works better -I'll be happy!
Today I have 2 things in my DEFINITELY TO DO Pile, then hoping to get those darned ATMs caught up once and for all! I am only 3 behind now! LOL
OK Time to go. Construction wasn't too bad yesterday - I leave early enough so they are just setting up - not much actual work going on yet.
Remember to TAKE TIME TUESDAY - Take time for something YOU want to do for YOU!
♥hugs♥

Good morning!
Thanks for starting us off today Carole...today is our super early start for "track"...still not at the track but it is all good--liking where we meet. I did track yesterday and plan to track today. Last night, for dinner, I made a homemade romesco sauce and it was so good on the gnocchi that we had. It is pretty strong flavored (with roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, and smoked paprika), but you only needed a bit to add flavor to the gnocchi. Will definitely make it again. Tonight is maybe airfried eggrolls...we will see!
Carole: Thanks for starting us off. It is understandable that, after so many weekends of go-go-go, you would feel a little "off" on a calm weekend. Oh yes, tomorrow you have your NY trip! What a nice way to break up the week...plus we all know that you and Ken love a good road trip. I do hope that the weather is nice and you can enjoy your drive. Sounds like you got right back in the swing of heading to the office--good job! Love how you describe your weight loss in the past to Jenny and how you were consistent with your 20 min walk/day and saw the results. Two days later, our fridge still looks good too, LOL. Need to keep it up! I need to think more about how I use things that are leftover so that I use up things in the fridge. What a great thing that Tracy and Bob both love the outdoors---so great to have those common interests---I am very happy for her! Hope that you have a good day---I have Friday off so I will be sleeping in on the day your are headed back--it will feel good to have only one day left in the week though, won't it? Have a great day--oh, and YAHOO for the broadband working...they will get a decent review if it really does make a difference when the whole family is online. Nice!

Jenny: Yay for making your appointment and for the peace of mind of knowing the place. And the loan got done too? Sounds like a productive day! Were you and Kerry able to get out for a walk after work? I hope so!
Sue: Yes, I would think it would be tough to head back after your great week off....glad that the computer is better. I am finding little things that are different every day with Office 10...nothing too hard, but just different. Hope that you have a good day.
Christine: I forgot to mention yesterday...back when my endocrinologist wanted me to focus on super low carb to see how it affected my blood sugar, I only ate blackberries and raspberries on my yogurt. I was surprised at the carbe in berries too! I guess that finding the balance is key....looking forward to hearing more about your learning.
Okay, time to go. Hope that you all have a great day. Hoping that the fire fighters here continue to make progress....

Good Morning everyone
Well I didn't do my walk last night but I forgot that DH picked up a recumbent bike and set it up and I did that for 15 min, it was just to hot to go on a walk. That bike had my heart beat up and I was sweating after doing it. I also stayed on plan for the most part, I did add some avocado to my salad so I need to go in my tracker and add those points. Today I'm going to go to You tube and find a beginners yoga class and do that after work, I need to get some activity in at least 15-20 min a day, I love to go walk but after work it's just to hot to be outside, if your going to walk it needs to be in the morning when it's cooler. I don't want to give myself a heat stroke. I also only drank a little wine last night, I slept crappy, but that's OK hopefully I'll sleep better tonight. I watched some of the Olympics while on the bike, I watched men's gymnastics and synchronized swimming, man all those athletes are in such great shape, it takes a lot of skill to do all they do. I'm enjoying watching it this year than in years past.
Carole so glad your back to the office and routine, I know it's nice to work from home but sometimes you need routine, I'm the same way. I have to remind myself to drink my water or tea everyday. Oh what part of NY is Rome in. Did you know 3 years ago I was in NY and got to meet you in person, I still would like to go back and see all the site's we just didn't have time to go see. I also want to do the Salem Mass witch tours and I want to go in October close to Halloween, I think that would be fun. I'm glad Tracy and Bob are enjoying their time together, it's sounds like a lot of exercise with all that hiking but it's good to do things that both of them like to do.
Sue back to the grind, I hate when vacation's end, I'm so ready for retirement also. I still have 8 years until I'm 62, but when I hit 62 I'm going park time, we have a program for employees, it called "Life at Knife" and it allows you to at retirement age to cut back to 30 hours a week and the company will still pay for your insurance so that's what I'm going to defiantly do. I think that's what WWOW is doing and you really can't blame her because insurance is so expensive. I see the garden's is a blooming, mine is finally starting to get a few tomato's and squash.
Gabrielle yes Kerry and I got our walk in on Sunday, we went out around 10:30-11:00 and it was just starting to heat up, I see in Central Oregon around Klamath Falls and north that there's rain on it's way which is where the Bootleg fire is, it the biggest fire in Oregon and only 40% contained so that's great that there's some rain coming in, I just hope it doesn't bring lightening that would not be good.
Christine yea for spending time with Cindy and at the beach. Glad Karly and Ben are getting situated in their new apt. Oh a new brewery sounds like fun, glad you and Lindsey got the chance to taste and try some different beers, I love a good beer but it fills me up so I can only drink 1.
OK gotta run for now I hope we all have a great day.
Jenny
