Hi!
Our Wednesday was very eventful! One DGS had a baby, and the next one came by to show us his new (to him) car! But Levi's arrival was the big news in our family yesterday. Of course, he's gorgeous, even with him poor little face bruised. The doctor had to use forceps for the delivery, so you know what that is like. But he is safely landed, so that is good.
It is already 90º, so we won't be getting outside again today. We walked for about 20 minutes at 7:15, and then came in. We had breakfast and enjoyed the apple muffins. I don't know if you'd like them, since I use very little sugar. I want to eat them, too, so they have to be about 20 carbs each. I am used to such cooking, since my DM ( now sharing in Heaven's feasting), DD, DS, DGS, and DGD and I are all diabetic. And that doctor told me it doesn't run in families! Hogwash!
I am among those who are very proud of Simone for paying attention to her own welfare. It is high time all girls and women thought themselves of value. I remember being told as a child to remember that girls were here to take care of everybody. Were you raised that way?
Okay, off the soapbox and on to the day's plans -- such as they are. Hugs! Diane

I think we are the generation between our Mother's who were always making things easier for their husbands. remember my Mom changing her clothes and putting on make up before my Dad got home. Always waiting on him. The boys didn't learn to do any house hold things, their job was mowing grass and taking out the garbage. then WE started changing a bit. said we were not going to wait on our husbands and they learned to pick up after themselves, ( well a little) I loved working outside and didn't think of it as men's work. Helped right along. DH didn't learn to cook but he could warm up a can of soup and make a sandwich if I was not home when he came home for lunch. Now days things are very different and I applaud my DDs, My DGDs , I love that the guys chip in and there is no women's work or men's work. They have learned their bodies and minds and do not stress about not doing it all!! Hooray.
We had a quick storm this morning and more to come but I was smart this time, Put the flowers out where they got watered, brought in all the porch cushions etc. I was prepared!! Just cause it was so nice out last night that I wanted to be outside,.
I like less sugar as well. Do not use fake sugar either. I am sure I would like your apple muffins. I found a recipe for peach muffins. Going to try them soon as I get more peaches. . I tend to be more of a sour person. Never put any more that a couple Tablespoons of sugar in my apple pies. I also prefer my fruit just to eat!! the peaches have been awesome. I eat them a bit on the unripe side. Same with apples prefer tart apples.
Going to lunch with a friend today.

good afternoon Patriotics,
finally got the crown put in this am, now there is another tooth needs a root canal. will wait awhile. I have 10 crown in my mouth.
dad did not do much outside except mow, sometimes in the barns there would be something to do..not farm barns, just barns with stuff in them.
mom would be sick he knew how to cook.
DIANE HOW ABOUT SHARING THE APPLE RECIPE ,PLEASE.
THEY say type2 diabetes not inherited ,when going to work shops years ago, a local diabetic specialist gently pound on the table and said if you are typ2 diabetic it is strongly inherited.
MOLLY,my machine is brother innov-'sv03000 dreammaker.,took me awhile to learn to like it. why I got such a big machine ,I do not know.thought I would be running back and forth to learn all the bells and whistles.nope. one time I was there asking FLO about something in the book, her answer was you have to
understand their lingo. ok just like computers.yah right.
I should have bought the smaller model down. this will be the last big expensive machine I buy, maybe the last one. I ever do need a new machine it will be BERNIA smaller one, from a local dealer.phyl

Phyl, I don't mind trying to share the recipe, but I use my starter that Molly shared last summer. It just keeps growing and working. If you use it, great. Let me know.

See you all later for tuck in!

Hi!
Those muffins would be delicious. If they aren't sweet enough, I could add strawberry jam! Many congratulations on the great-grandson, Diane! Poor precious little face! It will all heal though. So glad Levi has "landed."
I really wanted to get things straightened enough to have a meal or two here while my cousin is here for Auntie's celebration of life. But it isn't going to happen. Still such a mess!
Started on the office this morning. There were one or two bills that needed to be paid (after the Internet shut down on me at 10 p.m.), so I got that done. I added the new copies to their binders, and started on the tubs we have stacked up. Why is any box, any file folder, any manila envelope never the size I'm (or anyone is) looking for? Murphy's Law should be Mollyann's Law -- anything that can be the wrong size will be the wrong size. And the store that sells the right size will be 50 miles away or out of it when I arrive. My poor mama just didn't know what to do with all the paperwork even though she had taken care of it for more than 80 years, and I'm feelin' her pain!
I took everything out of the minivan this morning, and Guy went to have it washed and vacuumed, then took it to Jiffy Lube for the oil change. It was some huge sum of money. Between the Ody$$ey and Ca$ey, we need to eat beans for a week or so! LOL!
Kathie, have fun on your trip! So glad you are taking a break from caregiving!
Sandy, glad you're having a rest as well.
Connie, good for you! I always forget to put my potted plants where they can get rain. You have done a wonderful job keeping us going this month. Thank you so very much!
Phyl, yes, diabetes ESPECIALLY type 2, is an inherited tendency -- just like Parkinson's Disease, heart disease, and Essential Tremor. We are genetic humans -- no matter what any scientist claims.
JENNY! JENNY! Where are you? Are you okay?
A regular attender sent a prayer request to our church today. Her friend's house exploded last night, and the friend was inside! She was life flighted to MU Medical Center. I know nothing else.
Must get busy. I hope each of you is having a nice cool day in air conditioning! ~~Molly

DIANE, CONGRATULATIONS ON THE DGS. HE will heal.
no I do not use the starter.
WE do not know any one who had diabetes in our imiadite family. so I guess I got The luck of the draw.
ct scan is done, that was a experience.years ago I had a scan all I remember is getting on the bed and drinking some colored stuff.
this time I had to drink 3 12oz cups of contrast and now drink more water to flush it out. I WILL BE PEEING IN MY SLEEP.LOL PHYL

Hooray, little Levi is here. How much did he weigh. and a new car for the other DGS. Exciting stuff.
I'm getting excited for Kathie. so glad you are taking a break and have a great time. Jim will be in good hands.
Molly, I paid couple of the early bills, used to be you could change the due date if they came too early for the next paycheck. don't know If I can do that or not but as long as I remember I am okay. Seems like the forgetter part of me is getting to be a pain. And the remembering part has to get put down on a list!! Tonight I am doing 2 birthday cards. I did Remember to go get them today so they would not be late. but Forgot to add them to the Hallmark order this last month, Forgot to turn the calendar over to check the next month. See what I mean??
Have quite a bit of diabetes on both sides of my family and yes my DR says it is hereditary too. all of my Drs have said that.
It has turned chilly here and only to be 75° tomorrow but with sunshine that is pretty nice.
My Dad could cook once in an awhile. but he worked so late from my teenage years on at the service station that we even delivered his dinner to him. I remember his left over dinner. He put everything in the frying pan with bacon grease , all the little bits of leftovers and threw some eggs on top and scrambled it all together. It was pretty good and if not would put ketchup on it. At our house if you didn't want what was put in front of you to eat, you didn't eat.

Yes, Jim will be in good hands with Bobbie. He gets mad at her sometimes because she follows MY rules and not HIS. But, he doesn't have a prayer since I pay her from my rental income and she has to follow MY rules....
Tucking you all in with a DARK BLUE BLANKET WITH A FLAG WAVING IN THE CENTER AND FIREWORKS BURSTING AROUND IT ....sweet dreams!
