Good Morning Chicks and thanks for the start Karen. Today is end of survey day; it's been a hellaciously long week. Taking 5:13am trains in the morning and getting home at 8:45pm. Knees are just about shot and nerves along with them. All in all it was a good survey for my departments. We will have an exit debriefing early this afternoon. Karen - how did things go with the gym and Osteo? I have seen the rising numbers in your neck of the world; not a good thing. We are now starting to see more Covid+ cases coming through the ED and being admitted to the hospital. We are one of the states needing to mask again indoors (no surprise there) and the unvaccinated continue to jeopardize the rest of the country. Gary is just about 6 weeks from retirement as it will be right after Labor Day when we get back from vacation. Zoe seems to be much better for now and avoiding accidents; she just finished her meds so we will see how it goes. She continues to show Cushings signs a bit more pronounced to me. Wally boy has a growth back on his tushy that I think we need to have the vet take a look at. It's never a dull moment with the pups. How has the lake been? Are the tourists invading? How are Arya and Dale doing. Nice haul on the frozen veggies from TJs. Kathy - thank heavens someone at Disney had some common sense! Have you also been doing any light stocking up? The general sense here is that the situation has the potential to become much worse by fall. The weather here is supposed to be a bit cooler and hopefully by later today somewhat less humid. I don't think there's been a day in 2-3 weeks when my hair hasn't been a frizzy mess . Linda - your sticky pineapple chicken sounds interesting and tasty. I'm not a fan of anything spicy but my hubby would probably love it. How is the weather doing today? Has there been any acknowledgement that wearing masks there are really for the protection of all or are they all still being anti-vaxxers and anti-masks? Chele - hows the warm, muggy and humid doing there? How are your poor sinuses? Any new projects for Iggy lately? Waving hello to Becky and moonriver Denise. Need to run to hear what's next for today! Have a safe and good Friday dear ladies! Ciao for now~

Linda, I find all the videos from the insurrection very disturbing. The brutality to police (in some cases by other police or ex-police) is shocking. It amazes me how some people are trying to paint it in such a different light. There is something seriously wrong mentally with a number of people elected to office in the Congress. On the fraudit, it will continue until the money stops pouring in. There needs to be a major prosecution there and some of your legislators need to be charged or at least sanctioned. I hope the voters there will be smart enough not to re-elect some of them, but I know it's expecting too much. Definitely start stocking up on what you can. Is it too early to plant seeds for your winter garden? Tofu or chicken nuggets would be easy to sub into that recipe. Looks good!
I forgot this was the spa party, Becky. You are just a party animal these daysš. Will you get your ears pierced in the same places where your holes closed up? Will you just do one per ear or more? I'm not a huge fan of Pelosi and if there were term limits in Congress like there should be, she wouldn't even be there. I did find her kind of hard to understand when she had a mask covering her mouth and nose, but the "chin diaper" looks stupid. I would love to see Katie Porter as Speaker of the House.
Chele, we apparently have at least 4 hummingbirds and they all pretty much claim the feeder as their own. Three of them have been hanging out within a few feet of the feeder for most of the day. Did you get any rain yesterday? The storm we got this morning came from KY, so you might have gotten some before it moved southward. It was pretty nasty in parts of KY and northern TN. Is the vaccine lottery still going on? Any announcements on new incentives since Biden's message yesterday?
Did you do a grocery order, Kathy? How many bags of Birdseye did you get? They are pretty compact, so a good thing to stock up on. I really like their new Power Blends. I have tried the Southwest, Italian, and California, and they are all good. Fairly low in fat and good in protein and fiber. I've used them many times for a quick dinner and can easily get 2 meals from a bag. How has the reaction been to Disney requiring masks again? Are you just expecting your everyday ordinary shower today? The Atlantic looks pretty clear right now.
Liz, YAY! on the survey ending. I hope you can recover a bit this weekend. Great news on Zoe. I hope Wally's growth is no biggie. You have enough going on. Our numbers are rising here and we have been 2000+ new cases per day all week, with rising hospitalizations and deaths. That's what happens when you're one of the worst states in terms of fully vaccinated people. Everyone needs to mask indoors here as well, but probably only the vaccinated people will do it. The lake was pretty crazy last weekend and may be the same way this weekend. They are starting to take the lake level down a bit and it's dropped about a foot this week. They will start ramping that up after Labor Day and then swim season will be over for me.
We had a rough night. The problem smoke alarm went off at 3:15, 4:05, 4:40, and 5:10, when we finally got up (and it hasn't gone off sinceš). Then we weren't up long before t-storms rolled in while it was still dark. Lots of bright flashes and noise but very little rain. It took Arya a couple of hours to settle down enough to eat breakfast and another couple of hours before she was relaxed enough to nap. She's been very clingy. Dale thinks the smoke detector reacted to the heat and humidity so I have reset the thermostat to keep it cooler downstairs. The thing I can't understand is why it only seems to go off during the night when the heat is worse in the daytime. I think it's possessed. Anyway, I think I'm having one of those "no ambition" days like Linda had yesterday.
Waving to Denise.

Linda, someone on Twitter called those members of Congress āDeath Eaters,ā from Harry Potter and I saw the resemblance. People in PA have had frauditors knocking on their doors asking them who they voted for in the last election. They would either get an earful from me or a door slammed in their face. Arrrgh! Politics!
Liz, I am glad you have vacation to look forward to. Is Gary getting in shape to skip down the street after he retires? When is your retirement date? I am glad Zoe is doing better in regards to accidents. You have had some long days. I donāt blame your joints for being achy. Iggy finally got the materials for the corniches and is busy measuring and cutting. We wrote down what we wanted in terms of hardware and window treatments when we went to Ikea. Iggy lost the paper. I HATE going to Ikea and now we have to go back. Itās dusty and claustrophobic. Would it be bad if I kicked him?
Karen, I like Pelosi and Katie Porter. If term limits included Senators, Iām in. There is no more vaccine lottery in Ohio and I havenāt heard of any monetary incentives. I bet all the Ohioans in Knoxville are the anti maskers and vaxxers. Sorry about that. Buckeyes do love a trip to the Smoky Mountains. Yikes on your smoke detector. It is a weird time to go off. Youāre not even cooking. You must be pooped today. I saw some fruit forming on the eggplant. We might get 2 or 3. We have non spicy peppers they just havenāt turned color yet.
Kathy, nice coupons from the store for your DM. Wonder why yours have not come? Maybe they are going by age? The cashier at Kroger last week gave me a $7 off coupon that a customer left. You had to spend xxx amount of money to rate the discount and the customer said they would not spend it before the coupon expired.
Becky, good luck with the re-piercing of the ears. I was just getting back to some of my dangly earrings and now the masks are back. Pfft. Enjoy your next party.
I did some major administrative work this morning. We are doing some āestate planningā and we finally got some info we needed. Now the nephews and niece have a reason to knock us off. š¤£ I made us a Caprese pizza for lunch and then we went to Starbucks for a cool treat. Iced tea for me, please.
Have a good afternoon.

Liz, so glad you've reached the end of survey week. I mistakenly thought you were done last week. Glad to hear it was good news for your department. Yes, I've been stocking up a little more on paper goods and a few things, but not going too crazy yet. I still have a stash of TP from brands I don't like as much, so that's my emergency reserve. I also have plenty of sanitizer and wipes, although I guess that's not as important now that we know our groceries won't kill us! Glad to hear that Zoe is doing a bit better and hope Wally is okay. Any retirement plans yourself? Is Gary excited? Karen, the Birdseye BOGO turned out to be only on some of their newer oven roasting blends. I tend not to buy the seasoned ones, so gave it a pass this time. I love the Southwest Power Blend and have also used them as a quick meal. It's good in a tortilla with some salsa and cheese too and I also get multiple servings out of the bag. I think we're just back to our normal showers for now. It's a hot one today and doesn't look like rain. I haven't seen any reaction to the Disney mask requirements. I imagine they're used to handling the tourists that don't want to comply. I just saw that Publix is requiring their employees to mask up again and Sea World is just suggesting people wear masks. A local murder trial just had a juror that tested positive. They aren't requiring masks, social distancing or vaccinations. The judge said she couldn't compel the other jurors to say if they've tested positive or were vaccinated, but they went on with the trial anyway. I sure hope that changes soon. That's one of my fears to have to go in that crowded place, especially without any restrictions. Hope the smoke detectors stay quiet tonight. Between that and the storm, no wonder Arya is so clingy!
Chele, you have my permission to kick Iggy! I'm sure you'll enjoy the return trip to IKEA even more the second time around. Interesting theory on the Publix coupons going by age. You never know! We're in the same zip code, so it can't be location. We alternate Instacart weeks, so we have the same usage and our orders are similar. Maybe mine never even got to the mail sorting stage for some reason. You have to spend $85 for this coupon which is no problem between the two of us. I just put my earrings in after reading everyone's comments here! I've made the mistake of wearing the same ones most of the time and my ears don't like the thicker posts. They never really did, but I tried some a couple of weeks ago and couldn't even get them in. Guess I'll have to try to gradually increase the thickness. I have some nice ones and should make use of them. It's a good day for iced tea here and I've finished off most of what I made this morning. It's dropped to 90, but was up to 92 earlier.
Becky, I would think the SEC would want to keep the TX/OK game since it's a popular one. I hadn't thought about them being able to play the Aggies again and I would think they'd want to add that one too. My favorite games are the rivalry ones. Pelosi isn't my favorite, but I don't think she's a moron. I would prefer Katie Porter.
Linda, hope the allergies let up and hope Micki's test is good. I've noticed the same as Karen on the smoke detectors going off more during the night. I think maybe it's because the AC runs less at night and so there is less air circulating and more humidity.

Linda, too cute about Micki and his friends! Good to hear that he was closer to the normal range on his test.

Quick wave everyone. Been another busy day. I don't think our Walmart or HEB will put masks back as a requirement. They don't turn anyone away from shopping in their stores in Elgin.
Austin may have either 13-16 ICU beds left. In 490 days Williamson County has had one Covid death each day.
