Men like him are weak and wimpy men. They have no vision or ideas about how to improve the lives of the voters. It is easier to rile them up, point out how awful things are, blame others for all our problems, and encourage violence as the remedy.
No need for thought or reason. Just get mad, encourage fear and always, always blame others for the situation. The Jewish people, the Native Americans, Gays, Women, Immigrants, Democrats, etc.
That has always worked for men who want to be leaders but are not smart enough to actually be one. Simple minded and weak human beings. Sadly, the same kind of people support and cheer them on. No thoughts or solutions, just anger and rage.
Why bother talking to each other and looking for a solution and common ground? It is easier to blame others and waste time hating them.
I don't think mankind will ever learn. Why not give womankind a chance?

I saw on CNN online that extra-wacky right-wing white supremacist groups are cheering the Taliban takeover because
1. Reflects poorly on Biden 2. Gives them hope for a vastly inferior force defeating the U.S. government 3. They like the extreme religion, particularly the treatment of women
Oh boy.

Texas has managed to pretty much overturn Roe-v-Wade, but by golly we can now "Texans can now openly carry guns in public without a permit or training.". Honestly, it feels like Abbott is trying to push the state back to the 1800s. Or just set it up to destroy itself.

Honestly, it feels like Abbott is trying to push the state back to the 1800s. Or just set it up to destroy itself. This angers me to no end. Most women don't even know they're pregnant until 6 weeks, or later. I can see the steam of Texans coming in to New Mexico to get an abortion legally. Thank goodness the law that had been on our books for years was repealed in the last election. Women still have the right to choose here.

The extra creepy part of the Texas law is the part where citizens can sue anyone involved with providing or assisting an "illegal" abortion.
Public officials are not required to enforce the law. Individuals can bring civil suits against providers or anyone else found to "aid or abet" abortions after fetal cardiac activity detectable, usually around six weeks.
Anyone who successfully sues a provider could be awarded at least $10K.
Texas Right to Life has already set up a website where anonymous tips can be submitted about anyone they believe is violating the law.
My understanding is the woman seeking the "illegal" abortion is not subject to being sued. Just can't get one!
These right-to-lifers are also working hard to limit contraception, according to my reading elsewhere.

I can see the steam of Texans coming in to New Mexico to get an abortion legally. There is a question about whether or not the law can reach over state lines. Could someone in Texas sue the person that drove the woman getting the abortion to New Mexico, the person who gave them the money for the abortion in New Mexico? Will the abortions in New Mexico be considered illegal based on the Texas law even though they are legal in New Mexico? I don't remember where I saw it today but it was something about what it will look like in the post-Democracy world the Republicans are leading us to. Number one was that woman would not have abortion rights and there would be problems getting contraception. Number two was the anyone could carry a gun without any registration or training. Number three was that Blacks and Latinos would have their voting rights restricted.

I can't find a copy to post, but in our local paper today there was a "cartoon" reprinted from the Washington Post. It showed Afghan immigrants coming into the U.S. The Afghan woman says "So we'll have women's rights after all". And Uncle Sam says "Except in Texas".

The writing was, and still is, on the wall. History has taught us a nation divided will not survive.
We need to stick together and stop listening to fools and evil people, who will try to convince us to turn on each other. Stop listening to wicked politicians and religious leaders who want to convince us those people over there are to blame for everything that's wrong. Been there. Done that. It never works out. It makes things horrible!
THINK FOR YOURSELF.
Divide and conquer always works. It has never failed. Divided we fall, united we stand.
Pick one. Please think!

Yes indeed. SD's gov tweeted that after seeing the SCOTUS non-ruling, SD is going to have the strongest anti-abortion laws in the country. And a Florida Senator (not sure if it's state or fed, thinking it must be state) tweeted that "we are working on something" in regard to limiting abortion right now.

I checked Planned Parenthood in TX and it sounds like it is possible to go out of state, and the PP website will provide info for women who need to. But even so, WTAF is going on around here?
