This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning everyone and Happy Saturday!
Just popping in to get us started. Nothing outside of the normal Football Saturday stuff here today. But we're hoping to work in a hike tomorrow morning.
Sending out vibes for a terrific weekend for all.

Happy Saturday everyone,
Lora, your hike yesterday looked gorgeous. And WOW for seeing that beautiful eagle. I wonder if there are any babies again this year. Your football menu sounds delicious. Roll Tide!
Janet, after your rough week I hope you are able to do something good today.
Jana, I am so amazed by your DF's turn around, and his determination to stay sober. I hope you are able to get your flowers planted and you can enjoy them. Maybe you can even get some hammock time in!
Jill, hopefully you will get in some exercise outside, instead of just the gym! Any plans for a date night tonight?
Susie, I imagine you will have a busy day doing something fun!
I am off again this weekend, and just enjoying some really good coffee this morning. My only plan is to go get my booster vaccine and pick up one or two things at the store. Rain will be moving in later today, so I'll just do laundry and indoor stuff this afternoon. This week I missed 2 days of work with my stomach acting up again. I think it is getting better, so that is good. While I was off, I was looking at some jobs. I applied for one at the hospital I used to work at, and they contacted me right away. I have an interview Monday morning, but I am not sure I want to leave my current job yet. My boss ran some plans by me for my future in the office at the end of this year and it does not include me working with the provider that I want to go back to. I guess I'll do the interview because I don't know the exact hours even though I know it is day shift, and I don't know the pay. It would be a giant leap for me to take the job and leave the office. Working in the hospital system is always good....I just don't like change, I suppose after being in a constant state of change all my life, I drag my feet when it comes to making the move.
Well, I hope everyone is having a good start to your weekend, and I will be back later. More coffee......

Good morning! Lora, wow, that eagle sighting sounds amazing! Like you said, that type of stuff is what is seen on TV. What gift to see it in person. Happy football day! Yummmm... pulled pork and coleslaw. RobinMD, oh goodness, I am sorry your stomach is giving you issues. I hope you're feeling better quickly. That's quite a testament to your dedication and skills to be called right back by the hospital. Good idea to look at options. I am sure it'll feel right when you know the right path. I am like you sometimes, change is tricky. Although sometimes I am all about change and other times I don't want anything to do with it. Susie, I hope all your activities worked out alright. And how was the coffee today? I bet your "fridge dance" included a tap number??? To answer your tempering question... I used the microwave, took it out and cooled it with colder chocolate added in with stirring to bring down the temperature. Janet, I hope the eye dr. appt. went well. Yea for having your lesson plans finished, then you can really enjoy Monday. Have you confirmed your Monday plans? Jana, I hope the fridge is filled and ready for the weekend. I also hope you are enjoying your DS and BIL time; I am sure they are happy to be with you. Did you get the potting soil? I am sure your landscaping sure is taking shape. Happy Saturday! Today I am making chocolate candy with a mold... which is another new adventure for me. I made shortbread and a nutella mixture to add inside. Hopefully it'll turn out. Yesterday, I did end up on a hike at one of my favorite trails with DH. We finished right before the rain showed up. Last night DH and I finished up the Ted Lasso season, which is a bit sad for me that it's over for now. I love that show. Today we are hanging around the house until church this evening. Waving hi to all!

OH Robin! I'm so sorry your stomach has been bothering you again. I totally get you on every angle on the hospital job opportunity. Changing jobs is so scary. I would just say to consider all of the options and +s and -s. Sometimes we're willing to stay where we are just because it feels safe and familiar, even if there are clearly negatives. I think that's just human nature. Around here, eggs are normally laid December to January, so we should know in a few of months.
Jill - Immediately after the whole eagle thing happened, my first thought was DANG! I wish I'd got that on video, but then thought that I'd probably have spent so much time trying to follow the flight and center the shot that I'd have missed the whole thing...both on video and in person. So then thought that seeing it with my own eyes was probably a lot better. Lol. Enjoy the candy making! Oh goodness! shortbread & nutella sounds amazing! Like a variety of cookie butter. Nice!

Lora, I think it's better to have the eagle watching experience than a "sort of" moment trying to capture it.

Hello Everyone...got up early and checked on the coffee pot at the clubhouse...the timer worked and the 40 cup pot was perking this morning - yippee! I got more of the set-up done, started the second pot, and came home to get myself ready. I went to my DGS's soccer game - glad I had my raincoat on because we got caught in it - not too bad though. I am in for the rest of the day watching what I eat since there are limitations EVEN BEFORE the liquids only tomorrow for the colonoscopy prep.
Lora -even without pics of the eagle, the other pics were beautiful.
Robin - yippee for another weekend free. I agree with everyone that it is a real tribute that as soon as you reached out to the hospital, you got a call. This could be just what you are looking for.
Jill - I am raising my hand and volunteering to taste test the chocolate you are making - lol!
Janet - glad you had a better day
Jana - I don't remember hearing if the fridge got fixed, just that they were coming. Tell me it is fixed and stocked !!
Waving to everyone...

Hi Everyone, Had my appointment with my regular opthamalogist this morning. Things look good she says. Then decided to ride up to the thrift shop to look for another pair of pants and possibly a shirt. Didnt find anything tho. Came home, had lunch, texted with friends about plans for lunch..it turns out that the restaurant that she wants to go to will be closed Monday. Probably due to what they now call Indigenous Natives Day as it is a Mexican restaurant. There is another one that will be open that my friend agreed to go to and has been there herself. Planned to go back out to food shop but didnt have anything urgent that I needed today. Almost finished reading a book ny sister lent me. Lora, the pictures are great! Jana, hope you got the refrigetator and some food. Jill, hope you enjoyed date night and making the dessert. Robin Md, hope that the job might be something you are intetestee interested in considering. Some days like Thursday I just want to leave. As part of my yearly goal I have to work on I decided to try to work on strategies to help the boy with Autism. I have been thinking of taking this online class with this well known therapist. She started out learning ABA therapy due to her son being diagnosed when he was 3. If in the near future I decide to take the course I could earn a certificate. Maybe insted of teaching a whole class of children I could work with children one to one. Its not a definite plan but a thought for sure as I am really tired of teaching a whole class.

Hello again, Janet, I have to say that your idea sounds like it would be perfect for you. You seem to find connections with individual children, but it has to be impossible to build on those when you have so many, who need so much. You would be great with the one on one teaching. Susie, I thought we were going to get rain today, but it didn't get here until a little while ago. I hope your coffee was good! Jill, I hope your candy turned out good! Getting your technique perfected now is a good idea. I would have a hard time not licking a spoon now and then! Lora, I didn't catch a score on your game, but it is hard to imagine Alabama NOT winning! I bet the food was delicious.. Jana, I hope you are busy filling that newly repaired fridge! I'm thinking positively Thanks for the good words about the job interview. It is a job I would like to do. I guess that's why I even applied, and it is day shift, which is usually given to current employees and the new hires get the off hours. I would even be happy with an 11a to 11p shift and work 3 and 4 days a week. I think I will go to the interview and see what kind of pay they are offering. The hospital's benefits are excellent, too. A lot to think about, but like you said Lora, changing jobs is always scary. Especially at my age. I will see what they have to say and weigh the pros and cons. I didn't do a whole lot today. I went to the store and I got my booster and I picked up a couple of groceries. It is supposed to be rainy overnight and cloudy in the morning, so a good morning to lay around if I need to. I did get some laundry done and cleaned up the kitchen. I sure hope my John Deere comes home soon, because I need to get some mowing done! It is staying kind of warm here so the plants and grass don't know what to do. My lilac has one cluster of blooms on it! I'm going to get ready to go up and stretch out. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. Waving to all, RobinMD
