Was going to make pumpkin pie today with 1% milk. Nope. DH forgot and drank a little coffee with a little bit of milk and they would not do the blood test because if the cholesterol part. He should not have told them because Tbsp of 1% would not make a difference. research questions whether fasting makes much of a difference. So next appointment available is Thursday. Argg. He is determined to diet strictly until the test then reasonably. It usually takes at least a week in this entire area into Phoenix before an appt is available! oh well he lost 2 pounds this week, has now lost 10 pounds. Me a whole .3.
a huge front from here to Grand Canyon blew through here at high winds last night starting right as I was letting the dog out for the last time! He was having none of it so I stayed up until in subsided 11:30. This is very odd Oct. weather. Usually we are dry and warm.

Thanks for the start, Chele. I was a bit surprised OSU didn't move up more than they did in the football polls this week. Are the headaches staying away? What do you and Iggy have planned for the week? I think my hummers have finally flown the coop. Wish the doves would. Still waiting to see one of them get picked off mid-air by a hawk. We have 10 on the deck at the moment, so they should be easy pickings. We have also have had nuthatches hanging around the last few days but they don't seem particularly interested in the feeder.
Linda, I'm not surprised about your wind. I saw some photos on one of my gardening FB groups from someone in Flagstaff who had snow on her flowers. Strange weather indeed! Sounds like you had a short night, between having to stay up until the winds subsided and having to get up early to give Micki his shot. Our gas prices are going up a bunch here, too, and it was supposedly from damage in the Gulf after the last storm. If you're seeing it, too, maybe it's not the cause. What are they blaming your increase on? Ours have gone up 14¢ since last Tuesday. Oops on the reason for the test being postponed. I agree that fasting doesn't make a great deal of difference. They forgot to tell me they wanted to do fasting bloodwork a couple of years ago and my blood glucose and A1C were normal and cholesterol and triglycerides were slightly elevated.
Did DBIL get your aunt on the early plane, Kathy? Bama fell to #5 in the Coaches Poll. I've already seen headlines positing that Bama is finished for the year. I'm not willing to go that far. We are expecting fall weather this weekend. Are you? The only salads at Applewood seem to be chicken salad platters and a $2.99 "lettuce wedge" available with dinner entrees. I ended up with the veggie plate, which was vegetarian but not vegan. Food was good, however, but the meal wasn't the main event anyway.
Liz, I hope things will start leveling off at St. Crazy. Are you losing healthcare staff like they are in a lot of places? How are the pups doing?
Had a good dinner last night with DB/DSIL and the grands who live with them. They had an eventful day when the battery in their truck konked out while they were deep in the Smokies without a cell signal. They were fortunate that their granddaughter's paternal grandparents from NOLA happened to be with them (coincidence they both ended up in Sevierville at the same time), so they were able to get a new battery and install it, but they were late getting to dinner. They hit the road about 7:15 this morning and should be a couple of hours from home by now. Dale signed up for a pickleball class and has his first session this evening. So for the next 6 weeks, Arya and I will have to figure out what to do with ourselves on Tuesday evenings. I decided I am going to eat dinner for lunch and lunch for dinner since we won't be having an evening meal together. I'm thinking about doing that the other 6 days of the week as well, but we'll see how Tuesdays go first. It's supposed to be healther There's an old saying that we should eat breakfast like kings, lunch like princes, and dinner like paupers. Gym was a little busy this morning but not too bad. Food City was very uncrowded, which is extremely unusual, but they had 2 registers open, which was even more unusual. No blackberries available and all the salad was best by Thursday. So I'll have to make another trip somewhere on Thursday to pick up those items.

Karen, I assume my aunt made it to the plane. It turns out she was on Southwest, but it sounded like they were getting back to normal today. I saw that Bama had fallen in the polls, but I agree it's too early to say they're finished for the year. Do highs in the 80s count as fall weather? It looks like we have a couple of days with highs around 83 or 84 and lows in the low 70s, so that's an improvement. Glad you had a nice visit with family. My cousin and his wife are really into pickleball. I hadn't heard of it until they started talking about it, but it seems pretty popular right now.
Chele, hope the headaches are gone today.
Linda, that's silly on the 1 tbsp of 1% milk. Any loss is good!
We had a little bit of rain earlier, but the sun has come out and it's warmed up to 87 with a feels like of 93. Hope everyone has a good day.

Liz, thanks for checking in. So far we only have sparrows regularly at the feeder. Wait, I just saw a chickadee. No finches yet. We had one downy woodpecker a few days ago but has not been back when we’ve been looking. It took Iggy over a year before he started doing his own laundry. He’d do mine but I won’t let him touch it. I’m picky. Have you had your GI tests yet? The subways are worse? I can’t even imagine. Manners are evaporating here as well.
Becky, I hope you are doing well.
Kathy, I hope your aunt made it okay on Southwest. That was an early airport trip.
Karen, I’m glad you enjoyed the family visit. The fam had a lucky escape with the dead battery. I had to look up what pickleball is. Sounds like fun. It’s an appointment week - doctor and chiropractor for Iggy; haircut Thursday for me. Winterizing the garden is still happening. We just pulled the cherry tomatoes and transplanted the potted herbs to the patio planter. They will be covered for the winter. We still have a few larger tomatoes ripening and a few green beans. Well, at least, OSU moved up and not down.
Linda, our PCP no longer requires fasting for sugar or cholesterol checks. Congrats on the loses.
I went to both Kroger and Walmart today while Iggy was at the doctor. Not as many masks as I would have liked to see. Iggy was wheezing and he had a stabbing pain near his shoulder blade. His lungs are clear. The wheezing is from sinus congestion and he has a pulled muscle, so no bad news. Whew!

Went to Costco for rotisserie chicken for dinner and shrimp for DH. Got it sliced and taken apart, so e slices in foil to heat and cut potatoes on stove to heat reheat later. Looked at their pants, nothing but leggings and knit skinny jeans. Not a fan. really nice day, so Micki got a decent walk in sun with really cool breeze. Our weather is like early Dec in mid 70s. Should be 91. Enjoying it.
good check at eye dr today on the lasered eye. Yea! Other one in two weeks.
waiting for neurologist back from vacation to call about last mri result that did not have the original problem! Wish I could say expect call. But often docs do not call until after last appt. the office is crap on messages.
