This thread is for anyone that has been away from healthy eating, had a gain and is recommitting. We accept all forms of healthy eating here, whatever that means to you. We touch base daily for accountability and to encourage one another. This is a judgment free zone.
We all struggle to get the weight off and keep it off. Sometimes this is a challenge, but we never give up and that is the key. Regardless of our situation or where we are in reaching our goal, we count on talking to each other every day and are blessed to have one another as friends.
All are welcome here.

Good morning friends and happy Wednesday!
Today is DHs first day of "unemployment". Lol. We're heading down to his Aunt and Uncles place in a little bit to spend the day with them. His uncle is a master with the grill/smoker and is smoking some ribs for later. Yummmm! This is the aunt and uncle that had Covid back in the spring that we made the homemade soup for and delivered.
Mark and his uncle have always been close. DH has so much in common with this uncle, they're very much alike (personality wise) and they can talk on any subject endlessly. So it should be a good day. It's about a 90 minute drive, so not terrible and lots of beautiful scenery. Yay! Like us, they prefer to live in a quite rural, mountain area. Unlike us they have A LOT of acreage...Lol.
Janet - I hope today goes smoothly and you get a lot of your list accomplished.
I need to get some coffee in the travel mugs, and get CC settled for the day. We'll be heading out before too much longer. Have a great day everyone! If I don't get back here today, I'll see you tomorrow!

good morning.
Sorry I have been MIA - I didn't even realize I had not posted in so long - sorry.
So the fridge is NOT fixed. The repair man came and replaced something and told us it would take approximately 5 to 6 hours to cool down. It never happened. We got up Saturday morning and went and purchased a new fridge but it will not be delivered until 10/25. We did go buy groceries and it is all packed into the tiny beer fridge. The home warranty company called on Monday to check the status and I told her same thing - dude came out - did something but the fridge still is not cooling. She told me at this point we could hire our own tech and they would reimburse us........... I don't know what we are going to do. At this point I think we are going to tough it out until the 25th.
We had a very good weekend with my Sister and her husband. Both of my kids came over on Saturday and we all had a late lunch. My son went with my Pop to Tractor supply and they bought some deer corn to put at the edge of our tree line to entice the deer to come. My Pop loves watching the deer.
I did get potting soil and filled my 2 planters up with flowers. I still haven't gotten the bush out of the flower bed or done any of the other weeding.
Today is the 2 year anniversary of my mom passing away - I am staying busy at work to try and keep my mind off of it.

Lora enjoy your trip today. I hope all goes well. Those ribs sound good - I didn't have breakfast and I am seriously considering heating my lunch up and eating it now.
RobinMD sorry that the job wasn't a dream job as Lora put it. At least you still have your job. I find myself as I age not wanting to make any big changes.
Jill sounds like you are doing well. I love the stories of your YDS and the football games.
Janet - Do you get any sort of training dealing with children with autism? My daughter works daily with pre-school special ed kids getting them ready to go to kindergarten. I know the things she learned in college just amaze me. Have you asked the child's parent how they get him to lay down? Maybe if you could find some sort of quiet activity he could do on his cot while the others rest?? Good luck.
Susie I hope your appointment wasn't too bad. I go for mine next month. it will be my first time and I am not looking forward to it.
Waving to everyone. I will try to get back later.

Lora, I hope you are having a great day with the relatives. Sounds like a fun find at DG with the oil/vinegar bottle. Janet, hope all is going alright with preparing for the conferences. Glad you got a good night's sleep! So I talked to my DD last night about the ABA therapy, and she told me her test was not a state test, but a national test. So her guess is that the process would be similar for your area. Jana, oh dear. I thought for sure the fridge thing would be settled by now. It's truly a mess! Sorry you have that going on. Oh fun, deer! That'd be fun to see right outside your window. Sounds like you had a fun weekend. Susie, so glad you are feeling MUCH better, the results are good, and it's all in the past. Phew! RobinMD, glad you are not in a hurry to leave, then it's more like a rushy decision. And like you said, you have stuff to think about. Awww, that's nice of your to pick stuff up at the farmer's market for your friends. I bet they DO enjoy it. Thank you for the Birthday wishes. I had a really nice day with my students, then I went out to dinner with DH. Wednesdays are my hard day, and glad the school day is behind me. The students only have one special, I eat with the students, and it's just a rush rush day. Also, this week I have outside dismissal duty for about 35 minutes, and it's hot right now. Ugh. But I am home, so all is good. Waving hi to all!

Hi Everyone...went to my gym class this morning, then walked with DD, then played mah jongg this afternoon. It is beautiful and sunny and I have no plans for the rest of the day. I think I will sit outside and take in this gorgeous weather.
Lora - have a lovely drive and enjoy those ribs!
Jana - oh no...I cannot believe the fridge is not fixed. I am glad you had a nice weekend with a good visit and that you have two planters full of flowers you can enjoy. I know today is a tough day...remember all the special times with your DM. As far as the colonoscopy goes, it all depends on the type of prep you have...it can be pretty not so bad or terrible....I hope yours is not so bad. The procedure itself is nothing.
Jill - sounds like you had a nice birthday. Where did you and DH go to dinner? Glad you are finished bus duty and you are home now.
The weekend is right around the corner...😎

Hello everyone!
We just got home. We had a great visit with Uncle Kenny and Aunt Brenda. He smoked ribs and chicken and both were amazing. After lunch we all hopped on the mule and took a drive around the property. It's partly fields, partly wooded, partly flat and partly mountainous but fully beautiful. They have 75 acres and I swear, it really made me want more. Mark and I have been talking about buying a bigger piece of land and something more remote and possible off grid. We actually called about a place we saw last week, but it got snatched up pretty quickly. It was 80 acres on top of a mountain with an off grid cabin sitting right on the top. It required a 4wd or off road vehicle to actually access the house. Lol. My truck is 4wd, but Mark's SUV is not. But the price for it was outstanding. I knew we should have moved faster on it, but that's okay. It just shows us that there is stuff out there and available, we just need to keep our eyes open for it and make a move when we see it.
Sorry for no personals today. I'll try to do better tomorrow. I got up at 5 this morning, so this girl is getting sleepy. Lol
