Good morning everyone! So glad to hear about everyone's news! Welcome back Giselle and I'm glad you had such a great visit. Thanks for the words of support too everyone! It's good for me to be up early, showered and dressed. I had to pick my sister & niece up yesterday morning from JFK airport for their 6:01 arrival. 1/2 cup of coffee, traffic and the dark made it a difficult start but it was a beautiful sunrise and after a terminal mix up it was a smooth collection! They got in early and even with checked bags to retrieve ended up having to wait for me. Our roads have construction everywhere and going west in the AM with all the commuters heading into NYC is a real grind. I was back home early and fed the doggies and then myself. Oatmeal. I walked the dogs and then did a supermarket trip so I got my steps, actually exceeded them, so that felt good. I shopped for dinner fixings for last night (a new recipe I saw in yesterday's paper) and tonight ( a tried and true). I had alone time which is rare since our retirement. I miss it and I need it. It was nice. I saw a post on FB about a local shelter needing blankets, towels, and newspapers for 70 cats that were taken out of a hoarding situation recently that was on the news. I gathered up blankets and newspapers but when I called they said they were good for now, but to call back next week. I had already given away towels that I no longer needed and looked to see if I could eliminate some others. Decided "no" yesterday, but could certainly revisit that decision. My internal dialogue had me asking myself "What about those lovely Egyptian towels Aunt Karen gave us?" They have served us well for many years and removing them isn't akin to removing the person. I can thank them and bid them farewell. And apply that same thinking to other items too. I've done well with decluttering since retirement and plan to continue to do more. The weather is perfect for spending time up in the attic now. Yesterday I found another tub with clothes I can donate while gathering the blankets. Time for a shower and another full day to fill with fun! Enjoy the day everyone!! And keep up the momentum!

Morning all!
tracking f/v chores/housework did a little reading
cathygeha, I've always struggled to get all five in which is why this challenge has been so good for me. My average before the challenge was three. Four was a good day and five was somewhat rare. I'm allergic to many fruits like melons and citrus. They make my mouth itch and burn. I do have blueberries and an apple daily. Getting three vegetables in daily can be a challenge sometimes but, I've been doing so much better. I suppose I could do some lettuce or a small salad on days where the menu is light on veggies.
klf722, Karen great job with your steps! It's so good you were able to get some alone time. Recognizing your need for space (and your right to it) should go a long way as you navigate retirement and prioritize more time for yourself. Good luck with the decluttering. I really need to devote more time to that endeavor myself. lol
Waves to luvvinlife GisΓ©lle I'm glad your visit went so well and that you're planning another. I'm sure it was as good for your dear sister as it was for you.

π€©. Read, attended WW in-person workshop. Doing well with my maintenance strategies. Iβm getting excited about crafting projects for the coming season. π Enjoyed a fun 60 minute cardio workout ππ½ π‘. Rescheduled Stove delivery AGAIN. The Gas company was unable to synchronize the installation. Weβll have to wait for 3 more weeks. Thatβs still better than being without the stovetop. Theyβll remove the old oven when the new one is delivered so we arenβt willing to be without for more than a few days. cathygeha, my sister lives with her elder daughter. The arrangement was commandeered by my niece who can be a bit controlling, albeit, with good intentions. She has a tendency to get in over her head. She works full time and has a social life that takes her away from home too often for my liking. Her children are all 50+ years old so Iβll have to entrust them with her care. klf722, itβs good to be back. Having to totally immerse myself in the moment made me realize both, how precious the time spent with my sister was as well as the me time spent sharing with one another here. Enjoy the rest of your day everyone! doordie50, Looking good!
