Happy Day All!
Emily - wrote this whole post, and glad I checked to see if anyone had started! Was just about to post it as a new one. Glad you got out and about yesterday, even if you didn't need anything at CVS. After the last couple of years we all need to (safely) start getting out! Hope all goes well at your appointment today.
Sue - Sorry DH is declining so fast, but hopefully hospice will help you cope. Also sorry for your helper. Sad for them. Glad you're taking good care of yourself, though. Keep it up, please. Bet the pups help.
Mar - oh my gosh, sorry about the break and bruise. But, glad it's nothing more serious requiring more treatment.
Lin - all I can say about Bob's meal is "BLECHCHK!" That sounds awful.
Connie - As far as insurance and contractor stuff, the house is done except for the damaged solar shade in the FL room. Contractor has found one at Lowe's that is pretty close to the other four and I'll check it out next week. Am not going to pay to replace them all - we'll put that one on a side window where it won't be against the other. Plus, we seldom close that blind. Then I just need the new furniture. That was our choice to replace. Our house is so far out, I'm sure the contractor will be glad to be done with us after 2.5 years!
He did get the sink installed, but didn't turn on the water to it because no one is there to make sure the old pipes don't leak. All that kitchen stuff is no part of the hurricane, just something we decided to do. Really wasn't his job at all. Bless him! I may even miss him, he's been such a big part of our lives for so long.
Dayle - I've decided I'm going to hire a cleaning lady. I'll just have to work it in the budget. I'm tired of being mad at myself for not cleaning!
Betty - you're sure getting in a lot of steps! Good for you! Am so glad you're getting out and about. My DSis "runs away from home" several afternoons a week. No set destination. She's known for knowing all the back roads (doesn't like driving on the interstate) and enjoys the freedom to choose where to go and when. She literally has explored most of central Florida!
Phyl - glad you had such a nice anniversary. Don is a sweetheart, isn't he? Also glad you like the doctor. That's so important. Prayers that a fix is found for all your problems. Sad you're so uncomfortable or hurting so much. Hugs.
Nothing much planned for today. Neighbor (Holly's mom) is fixing us breakfast as a late birthday present for me. Don't quite understand it, as they took us to lunch already. I think she just wants to do something. She's a great cook, so I'm looking forward to it.
Then I'll start getting stuff together to take to FL. We don't take clothes back and forth, but this time I have quite a few odds and ends of things I've bought up here. If I get enough done, may try to talk DH into going tomorrow. Oooo, nope, that won't happen. Forgot that Saturday is college football day!
Have a good day all! Cheers!

Hello Y'all
Sue - Sorry your DH needs hospice. Hospice was a tremendous help with my sister. My sympathy for your helper. How are You and the Magnificent Seven?
Emily - Hope you get good results from PCP and blood work.
Penny - Have a Safe trip on Sunday.
My arthritis has flared up on the right side so hobbling around. Not going to Publix today. Kathy will do my shopping with hers tomorrow.
Everyone have a Really Good Weekend.

Good morning everyone
Today the tree trimmer will be here to thin out the huge Carrotwood Tree in center of backyard. They are also pruning big tall trees that are planted on neighbors side but hanging over a lot on our side. We like the trees there because of extra privacy and they are pretty. He is just trimming and shaping our side. Glad this will be off the list.
I alway say things happen for a reason. Because of my fall and now having a small fracture on vertebrae I will not try and help my osteoporosis with diet and exercise alone. Definitely a wake up call. The doctor yesterday is begging me to take the drug. My GP wants me to take the drug but was willing to wait a year to see if diet and exercise help because I didn’t have any fractures. Well….that has now changed. I am sure my GP will be glad I am going to try it again. He kept saying it better than a broken hip.
I will go back on Boniva and hopefully won’t have the acid reflux feeling I had with the first one. Since my thyroid issues were at same time not sure if it was acid reflux or thyroid pain. I will start it when endocrinologist says it’s ok after the biopsy of nodule. So I think sometime in November or December will probably start it. The only pain I have is the bruised area. The hardest part is not being allowed to lift or push anything somewhat heavy to allow healing.
Still waiting for 2 more thyroid blood test results. The TSH and T-4 are back in normal range but closer to hypothyroidism (under active) thyroid. The doctor said it would go from high to low and then go back to the middle. The last 2 tests will confirm exactly what is going on. Hopefully biopsy can be scheduled now that it’s not hyperthyroidism any more. Dr appointment is next Friday October 22.
I feel really good other than the bruised area. My voice is almost normal now. The ear ringing seems almost gone. Interesting.
Penny- yay. House is done. Furniture shopping will be fun. When you go how long are you staying?
Peggy Sue - hope you feel better as the day continues. That hurts.
Lin- enjoyed coffee with you. Lol.

So much going on I hope I do not forget anyone today. Mar, is compression fracture the same as stress fracture? My DGD had that when she was 13 and it does heal itself. Dr said they are common, even in children. Sure it is painful at first. Do not lift or push anything!! Relax and be careful. I am confused-- why do you want a biopsy?? Know you said you had a family member that died but sounds like your Drs are really proactive with things.
Phyl, sorry you didn't get to do all that you would have liked to do but boy I had a list of 3 things to do yesterday and only got 2 of them just wanted to come home, did get my covid booster and the regular flu shot. All good, little sore in middle of night but fine today. took the bandages off, wanted to be sure I knew where the injections were, no swelling or redness at all. I tend to like to be home these days. Still need a trip to Rite Aid, need to get the Trick or treat candy and some personal items that I don't order on line. like shampoo. need advil as well. Your anniversary sound awesome -- time with your wonderful hubby, Glad your Drs are staying active with you and that you tell them all of what is going on. So many people don't. good for you.
Sue , nice to see your post and sorry that you are going through bad time. I know hospice has a wonderful reputation and so glad you will have their help. It is important for you as well as your husband.
Penny, I am excited for you and the house in Florida. It has been along haul and lot of frustration and glad you got through it and there is light at tunnel. Have fun furniture shopping. I am going to be looking for new washer. Mine is not spinning right and have been babying it. But feel that if one thing is going bad there are other things that will be too in short time., It is old for this day and age, nothing lasts like they used to but the modern conveniences make it easier for one to wear out, so off to look at new ones. Want one without a lot of gadgets and knobs. Just need it to wash and spin!!! don't need a super large basket and do not want a front loader, Know exactly what I want and have looked at flyers and on line just for information, will head to my local appliance store. they deliver , take away old one. set it up and also have service people on sight. Not 200 miles away.
Peggy Sue, ouch , that would not be fun. I have been using my Salonpas a bit lately. Lot of working outside and bending and stooping and that knee does not like it. Funny my knee also likes cold weather better than hot and humid. Feel better soon. Hate it when something hurts.

Back home from the doctors - good report from him. Weight going in the right direction, blood pressure good, all shots up to date. He just wants me to get a bone density before my next visit in 4 months. They drew blood and my last A1C was 6.3. Good to go........
Have a safe trip if you leave Saturday morning; I'll be at WW, Penny!

Connie- endocrinologist wants a biopsy of the largest thyroid nodule. She says low chance of cancer. It’s measurement is 2.2 and always recommended anything over 2.0 have a biopsy. Not sure if compression is same as stress fracture. Because I have osteopenia in my back she said it might not heal up easily and really really wants me to take the Boniva to guarantee healing. Thank goodness very tiny. The area to the left of spine took the brunt of the hit.
As scared as I am to have the needle biopsy, I am glad to have it and can put cancer out of my mind. So was pleased when she said she wanted it done.

Changed my mind about going to the cabin with DD and SIL. They are leaving later this afternoon and it's an almost 3 hour drive and them coming home early Sunday. I have been having cramps in my thighs when I sit too long and riding in the backseat of a car with a big dog plus Ozzie sitting on my lap would just not be very comfortable. My DS and family are camping about 20 minutes away for the weekend so might decide to drive down there tomorrow if the weather is decent.
I've been thinking about getting a cleaning lady too. Just way too hard for me to get down on my knees to clean the shower and dust the trim around the floor and even vacuuming is getting to be hard. Will have to check around to see who has someone and how much they charge.
Did go to the meat store this morning. I wanted to get some beef stew meat and some of their award winning hotdogs. Picked a couple pounds of ground beef too. They were so busy I was glad I had my mask on. Sometimes when I go there the place is almost empty but not today. They were trying to fill the meat cases as fast as they could. Also planned on going to an estate sale but when I drove by the place there was a line of people waiting outside. They must have only been allowing so many in at a time. Decided I wasn't going to stand outside and wait. Didn't really need anything except I'm looking for a picture for the small bathroom. Oh well, I'd like to go to Hobby Lobby and look but too lazy to drive there. Kirklands would also be a good place to look but again too lazy to drive there.
Way past time for lunch and I'm kind of hungry. Leftovers I guess.

MAR,
the needle biopsy is not bad, how they do it.they lay you on your back ,put those towels over the area.THINK I was numb before starting. as he puts the needle in places he will do some tapping on your neck, takes 30-45 minutes.
please don't be stressed out about it, that will do you more harm then the biopsy.
now I GO EVERY January for the altura sound and talk to my guy.phyl

Tree trimmers are finished. Wow. Looks wonderful. So glad we had it done. Now ready for landscaper to do his project. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Will be so nice when finished.
The hardest part about this healing is no heavy lifting or heavy pushing. This definitely is a hardship working the garden and housework. Will ask endocrinologist how long I need to be this careful.
