Deb, no WW here in Italy anymore either... they fought over money several + years ago The first WW franchise I worked for was WW of Western Michigan and Northern Indiana. It was owned by a Macedonian woman named Sophia Branoff from Jackson, MI. After her husband died she moved to Athens and opened WW in Greece, then bought the Italian franchise. After Sophia died I don't know if there were estate issues or what exactly happened, but I know there's no longer WW in either country. She had 2 sons who worked in the business but I don't they had much to do with the foreign operations.

Been reading thanks so much. I took the assessment using a faux name. So far i am not impressed at all! I thought maybe they would buy a clue after looking at grocery store apps. Oh well. Imho there will be alot of complaints over the recipies and people losing points. I think the president ceo of i track bites and fitness tracker is going to be really happy. Noom is probably dancing. I am just not thrilled. Ok nice about the avocado and popcorn.

This month the weekly topics for studio meetings have been devoted to "What Happens in Your Body When You Eat and Drink" The weekly topic for this week is all about ways to get more fiber. (Recommended hack: instead of mayo, spread avocado on your sandwich.) Last week's weekly topic was all about using the app to track water. The series has one more week to go.
Any guesses about next week's weekly topic, as a lead in to the Big Reveal?

Thanks for all the info from Australia.
I think I have a perhaps more positive view on this. Although...depending on details it could be negative.
There are really 3 big things to this program that differ from the current program:
1. How points will be calculated
2. How many points we each get and which foods will be zero
3. What will add points.
So to take each in turn.
How Points are calculated -- To me this is more important than almost anything. So much of my discontent with SP was how the SPs in food were so disconnected from calories. What I want to know is what you get when you take a food that doesn't have anything that would be 0 points for some people and you then calculate the points for the food? Is a favored food of 100 calories 1 point while a disfavored food is 6 points? If so, I don't like that. But, if the favlored food is, say, 2 points and the disfavored food is 4 points and a "neutral" food is 3, then that is less of an issue.
This is the part that we don't know yet because apparently that info is not yet out. I am reserving judgment until this.
How many points and what is zero -- This part I honestly think is a HUGE change for people who didn't like blue or purple. When Freestyle came out my daily points went down 7 SPs. In return, some foods became zero such as chicken, fish, eggs, greek yogurt, legumes. This was disastrous for me since I didn't eat 7 SPs a day of those foods. I did eat chicken or fish most days. But they were already low point so usually a meal might be 1 SP for chicken or 1 SP for fish. I usually only eat chicken or fish for one meal a day. I rarely eat eggs (once a week maybe). I hate Greek Yogurt. I do like legumes. But, again, a serving was usually not more than 2 SP for me. On the other hand, I eat a 5 SP serving of pistachios almost every day (an extremely healthy food). When my SPs went down to 23 a day that snack was a huge hit. And, I didn't want to eat more chicken or fish each day, etc. On Blue I would hit 23 SPs a day when I was at something like 700 calories. I was starving.
So, the idea of being to somewhat control what foods are 0 points is really great to me. And to have the points it takes away from you perhaps relate to what you chose to have 0 points is great. Now, maybe the formula will still not work out but, honestly, I do like this idea.
Adding Points - I also like this idea. The idea of getting points by eating non-starchy vegetables will absolutely encourage me to make sure that I get them in. Or drinking water. I suspect this will be what will make the plan livable and if you don't do these things you will have a hard time on the plan. So if the plan says I get X points and then I can get another 5 points by eating veggies and drinking water then the plan may be something that will work well.
On the steps or time for activity -- that one does bother me. If you do only step based stuff then that probably works great. But what about the person who walks a lot but also exercises on a stationary bike or an elliptical. An elliptical burns a lot of calories but it is not like I do it for hours at a time. Where did you end up getting more points -- from walking or from using an elliptical or doing some other non-step based exercise. I am afraid that doing it this way will discourage people from doing what is not chosen. So I choose steps I may feel that I don't get anything from using my elliptical or from weight lifting. On the other hand if I choose time then I pay no attention to trying to get in steps.
Anyway -- I just feel that until we know how points are actually calculated and find out how the numbers all shake out on what is zero and what add points, everything is premature.
I do feel that the personalization of what is 0 points may make a big difference for me. And if I mostly want to have non-zero point foods then I would answer the questionnaire in a way to achieve that (such as picking one protein source only).

I just found the letter that Weight watchers Europe Inc sent me regarding the closing of the activity in Italy which actually closed on December 11th of 2006 and I just found my lifetime I'm I'm gold membership which I think I got in 2004 or 2005 . Unfortunately being an Italian LT member means borscht to WW USA.... And is why I will be rejoining for 3-months. I will take really really really good notes markdown all my points of the things that I eat , transfer them over to ITB and be on the new plan . ..if I like it

There are several brief videos on this website. Not a soul over the age of 25. Makes you wonder if they tested the program on anyone who is post-menopausal.

here's the link before I forget to paste it reneinitaly , I think it is something like a free month and no registration fee for a 3 month commitment. Anyone is free to use this if you want to check out the new program. They might have a better promotion going on so make sure I check the website out too! www.weightwatchers.com/us/checkout/iaf/?iaftoken=e3f75edb-9

Kitty! You nailed it. The most important thing to me at this juncture is the actual points formula and itβs relation to calories.

Confused. I really really have no intention of giving up my oats, whole wheat rice, pasta, etc which i dont have in excess but do want them to stay 0. I am on purple happy there. Wondering how to calculate recipies. If people are going to have to input every ing. To figure out the points for everything thst is do not going to work. Pity they did not look at grocery healthy apps at how they are figuring the food. Would have been so much simplier and easy.

Wondering how to calculate recipies. The Australian website gives each recipe a range of points. I am guessing that when you search a recipe, it will filter the point value through your personal zero-point list. If you and I look at the same recipe, you might be charged 3 points for that recipe but I might be charged 8 points for the same recipe because we have different ingredients on our personal zero-point list.
