Good morning friends. Slept well just woke up with the birds is all. I guess that extended nap yesterday afternoon caught up with me. No big deal as the only thing on my agenda today is to plow through oodles of laundry.
We had a wonderful time last night with Linda and Mike. They are such fun people to be around. We listened to great music oldies of course nibbled sipped and then played a few games of scrabble. Even the fur kids had a good time LOL. They have two dogs...both rescues and mixed breed which is why they prefer us going over to their home as their dogs have 'issues' not being at home. I fully understand and don't feel slighted in the least.
Judy so happy to read that things are going well at the Cape. I wouldn't give that builder the time of day. His 'anger issues' are on him and not you. I would continue to be polite and all that and keep your distance. Nobody deserves to be mistreated! You sound very upbeat and that's all that matters. Nice that you have good neighbors...especially the one saving books for you Win win.
Waving and wishing y'all a peaceful and OP Sunday.

Hi Ann and other cafe pals,
Thanks for such nice words. It’s all so true and frankly everything with this guy will be in writing from now on with a cursory greeting if I have to see him. I’m done speaking with him. DH was done with him a month ago. Hence, that’s why I’m the one trying to communicate with him. He had a shouting match with Dh when DH asked him a simple question. Thankfully, the house looks beautiful and all the workmanship is wonderful and his prices are fine and in line. It’s just his horrific explosive anger that will not be tolerated. I do feel somewhat vindicated having chatted confidentially with one of the subcontractors who shared his own story of walking out on him on more than one occasion.
Today will be much like yours, Ann, with laundry which is currently tumbling in the dryer. After that, we will make a quick trip to Walmart for some supplies we need. I’ve also been busy changing addresses for different bills etc. and I hope to spend some time reading and outdoors today. It was a balmy 38 this morning!
And, I’m so glad you had fun with your friends last night. That sounded great. I love doggy people so I’d be right there with you. Have a good day all and I will check in later.
DH is back from Panera with our egg soufflé. They run out of nearly everything else by 9 AM. I think it’s the lack of help. This is good and it’s easy.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Sunday! This weekend has just flown by! I never did get out for a walk yesterday, but finished up all the housework and still had time to read for a while. I had started a new book a week or more ago, but only read one chapter, so I just started it over and that was a good choice.
Ann ~ So glad you had a fun time last night. We also spent our evening with friends and it certainly did brighten up our world! Relationships are so very important.
Judy ~ Glad you have been able to move past the inappropriate behavior of your builder. Too bad he can't understand what his anger can do to his business. At least you'll be done with him soon.
Pam ~ You are really busy picking pecans. I agree time with DD s is more important then doing floors.
We had a long drive last evening, and enjoyed supper at Logan's Steakhouse with our young Retrouvaille couple. Lots of good food and great conversation! Then we went to the monthly Retrouvaille meeting and saw many more old and new friends. On the way home we talked about how much all that meant to us. That was one thing we missed most about the pandemic and we're glad it is back in our lives. We've been involved in Retrouvaille for 26 years so it has been a very big part of our lives. We don't intend to resume the level of involvement that we experienced for years, but are able to pick and choose which parts/activities we attend. That is a good feeling.
DH is off to run his errands this morning, and I have some time to play games and get dressed. Then we'll be heading out to brunch with DBIL. I am currently working on establishing a new sleep schedule. I went to bed at 10:30 last night and when I woke up at 6:45 I got right up and had coffee. I also noticed that we change the clocks in two weeks and that will make a difference.
BBL. Make a great day!!

I do remember your DH quitting on the contractor. Can't say as I blame him and happy that your 'time spent' dealing with him is coming to an end. Good idea to keep the conversations short and sweet. The laundry is still happening LOL. Just wasn't in the mood to tackle it earlier so I let it pile up! The bedding is almost done then I'll tackle towels and our stuff. Benjamin's blankets are all nice and fluffy. In fact, he is under one as I type LOL. Enjoy your egg soufflé. Sue so happy that you and DH enjoyed your meal out with friends. I so agree....friendships are priceless and I am very grateful for the people that are a part of our life. I had forgotten all about the clock change. Thanks for that reminder. My 'goal' is to get to bed before midnight. So far so good I am such a night hawk or night owl...maybe a little of both LOL.....I've always been that way and I guess old habits DO die hard. Enjoy your meal out with DBIL. Pam I'd love to have some of your pecans. I bet they are MUCH better than the ones we buy here. Waving...almost time to saddle up Benjamin and go for that hood walk. Pizza and salad are on the menu for tonight. Puts a smile on my face just thinking about it!

Hi All ~
We are back home after a delightful time with DBIL and a good lunch. We had a very pleasant server and DH and I both tried something different. We have concluded that this restaurant just has good food! Everything we have tried has been pleasing to the eye and the taste buds. We brought home leftovers.
DH has decided to finish up my catfish dinner from last night for supper tonight; and I will eat his half of a pork chop with yeast rolls that are delicious. I also have one slider (ground beef) left from lunch. We really need to clean out the fridge some, so we'll start with eating the leftovers.
I am also going to spend some quality time with my Kindle this afternoon. I got into my book yesterday and will continue today.
Have a wonderful afternoon .... and sweet dreams!

I loved reading the updates. What a happy little group this is and I think we all have good outlooks on life despite its many challenges. 😍.
I’m in the car with D&D waiting for DH who dashed into Home Depot to make a few returns on undercounter lights we did not need. Then we are headed to the apple orchard!
I picked up a few things I needed at Walmart so errands are done. It’s weird not to be buying food other than drinks and snacks. I needed a card for the friend who lost her husband and Olay face wash stuff.
Have a good rest of the day. Enjoy those Kindles!!!
Sue, your Retrouvaille group and dinner sound very rewarding and a good way to spend the day and evening.

Wishing all a happy, blessed Sunday!
After Mass and a quick breakfast of OO, Debbie and I walked. We were so busy talking, we ended up walking 3 1/2 miles. That's probably a good thing, since Debbie has to work Monday and Tuesday. I haven't done much else, except put a pork roast in the crockpot for dinner and put up the clean dishes from the dishwasher.
DH and I decided on a couple of Christmas gifts after reviewing family wish lists on Amazon. DD2 mentioned yesterday that she wants to "inherit" some of the Merry Christmas & Seasons Greetings stained glass tumblers that have been in the family for years. I think our bank gave them away at one time. Anyway, I have an incomplete set and inherited my mom's set. On a whim, I checked eBay and was able to bid on some partial sets. My 2 bids were accepted within minutes, which tells me I could probably have gone lower. Oh well, DD2 will be happy, at any rate.
Nothing on the agenda for the rest of the day, except reading and watching videos. Laundry can wait until tomorrow, since we won't have to go to the wound care clinic until Thursday.
DD1 told us yesterday that Jude was in an accident and his "new" old pickup is damaged beyond repair. Thankfully, no one was injured, but there is an issue. He was passing a parish vehicle, which suddenly made a left turn and hit him. DD says it is pretty obvious from the location of the damage to Jude's pickup that the other driver did not look before making the turn. Jude was in a legal passing zone. Neither driver was ticketed, so they will have to fight with the parish council to make a payment. I suspect that if Jude had been in the wrong, they would have issued a ticket very quickly.
Ann - If you can find Bergeron's pecans anywhere near you, they are local to us, buy from growers in this area and also grow their own. One of their pecan orchards backs up to DD1's property, less than 10 miles from here.
Sue - I agree with you. In this season of our lives, we are ready to slow down some and yet still enjoy our favorite activities. The pandemic slowdown taught me I was doing way too much, even though the activities were worthwhile. The pace was too fast and DH and I weren't spending enough quality time together. It's great that you and DH can still participate at a lower level of involvement.
Judy - It sounds like your contractor needs to get some help with anger management before he finds himself without work/workers. I almost feel sorry for him. I wonder what has caused such pent up anger that he can't/won't control it? No matter the cause, it's unacceptable. I imagine you are getting past tired of eating out. I get this way on vacation and long for MY home-cooking.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
