Good morning friends. Slept pretty well and woke up feeling a tad better. I'll take it.
Only plan today is my 1:45 manicure with Mindy. Looking forward to some pampering. Couldn't come at a better time
Sue happy that the oatmeal cured your DH
Thanks, Pam. It was a very difficult day and I am still feeling 'off'. I pray that the manicure with Mindy perks me up I'm sure it's a great feeling for DH to have gotten his booster. My arm was sore several days after that and the flu shot.
Waving to Judy and wishing all a pleasant peaceful and OP day

Good morning everyone from a wild and windy storm ridden Massachusetts. The Cape and south coast has really gotten hit hard by this whole storm so I am glad we are still up here in the Marlborough area. Lots of downed power lines and over 400,000 people still out of power. We did lose power here in the night. I never woke up but I could tell by the flashing alarm clock that somehow we’ve had either a brief outage or power dip.
Yesterday I went into work to interview a wonderful young woman for a job in the presidents office. I really hope she takes the job as my colleague working there could sure use the help. The doggies also had their day at the spa yesterday getting groomed and cleaned up. They always come out looking adorable with bows in their hair for Daisy and bowties around their neck for Doug! Plus, they always smell heavenly. I wish I knew what kind of shampoo they used because I’d like some for myself! Last night I had the leftover Chinese food for dinner and DH picked up a salad at Panera. I had Moo Shu pork and some fried rice. After dinner, I FaceTime to with DDIL for over an hour and we caught up on everything. She is still quarantining away from DS and our other DGS because of the CSV virus. Both two-year-old Aidan and DS have the virus and bad coughs and fevers. It’s always something!
I am debating whether I’ll drive into the office today. They are telling people to stay home and I might just listen to that. DH has gone into Boston. He’s a trooper. I am not.
Pam, I’m so glad your DH was finally able to get his shot. That was a long wait. I love your idea of making lasagna in small loaf pans. Brilliant! As always, I so admire your energy levels and all that you get done particularly around the yard and garden as well as all the care for your DH and your hospice community. You are organization personified!! I agree with you that all these people listening to the extreme us about the virus vaccination and its sad impact on people at risk. So maddening! Our vaccination rate is very high here at about 70% now. Wish it were higher but we are doing better than many places.
Sue, I hope your DH is feeling chipper today. I have no doubt it was your special oatmeal that was the cure! I hope you have more help at school today. It’s so hard to be that shorthanded and try to service the whole school. I notice here that many restaurants are only open a few hours a day due to lack of help. I feel badly because I think there is pent-up demand for people to get food from their favorite places.
Ann, sorry your visit brought up sadness. I’m so glad Benjamin is perking your lives up. You are such a kind thoughtful person to all, and I want that sadness to drift right on away. 🌈☀️
I have some very good news to report. The builder called yesterday. He was with the building inspector doing the final walk-through for the occupancy permit. Everything went without a hitch except for one detail concerning the kitchen stove exhaust fan. DH wanted a very powerful one and evidently it’s displacing too much air when it is on the highest setting. So we need to add another air duct for make up air. So I’m sure your DH knows all about these things! But the HVAC guy is coming out to do that and there are a few small things that need to get done. The builder is going to see if he can get a temporary occupancy permit for us so that we can move in right away. Oddly enough, the builder is more than pleasant now on the phone but I still keep it strictly business because we know he is unstable and prone to these crazy tirades.I told him to send us the final bill (probably the reason for his being happy), and we will start to process it once we get the OK from everything. I did not mention our independent inspection that will happen tomorrow. Hopefully that will all go well. Everything else has checked out with the plumbing electrical and building inspectors. The cleaning crew is coming in today to get the house move-in ready according to the builder. I still can’t believe that we really accomplished this overwhelming task of clearing out 100 years of stuff from the old Cape house, taking down the old house, designing our new house, working out every detail, cleaning out our current house and selling it and now we are on the brink of moving in! My big thoughts now have to do with my job once the reality of an hour and 15 minute commute hits me. The price of gas, the time in the car and the general wear and tear on me physically make me realize it’s not a good option unless I can work from home four out of five days. We will see what happens. I know my boss would like to keep me around and I am figuring if I can manage through December, that will be good.
Now we have to line up some movers to bring our stuff from storage containers into the house. A lot of what we are storing will not be going back so that’s another challenge to figure out what to do with everything. There is a lot of stuff. We kept all the good stuff from my parents, But, clearly, it will not fit into our new home scheme. Some of the pieces will. We both really want to embrace a more minimalist home with some empty spaces if you know what I mean. We have so many antiques stored away. And of course it’s always all the little stuff that drives you crazy. I’ve learned that I haven’t missed one thing while living in this hotel! None of it except maybe a nice TVs! Ha ha.
Have a great day all.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! It is another grey, dreary day in the mid-40's. Same-o, same-o. These days make me glad to be at school and inside a brightly lit building. I slept very well, even went to bed a half hour early and slept through the night until the coffee was brewing this morning (Geez, I love that sound!).
Ann ~ Sorry for the sorrowful trip down memory lane with your PCP. You were wise to take the rest of the day to just take it easy! Hope today is a better day for you!
Judy ~ What great news that your house may finally be all done! You have really worked hard for this and I can't wait until you can enjoy the fruits of your labors.
Pam ~ Yay for your DH getting his booster! I wish more folks around here would do that. One of my partners at work had her Moderna booster last weekend and then Monday evening lost her sense of taste and smell. She called out yesterday and went to her doctor where the rapid test was negative and they are awaiting the other one. He suspects it may be from the booster shot (not COVID).
I have to remember to stop at my PCP's office on the way home for my TB test and to drop off the form. Then I could stop at Meijer and grocery shop but I will see how I am feeling when the time comes. It isn't absolutely necessary as the fridge is full of food, and we have already planned Strawberry Waffles with Turkey Sausage patties for tonight.
I am just about ready to go and may head out a little bit early since I'm pretty sure we'll be short staffed again today. I'll check back in when I get home.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Judy keeping your DF in my thoughts and prayers that have contacted covid. I bet your DD was happy to have a nice long chat with her mom That warmed my heart. I hear you on wanting to stay home today. Yes I read where the cape and other parts of Worcester got it really bad. It poured buckets here, but no power outage that I am aware of. At least not at home! It's just miserable being out in this. I need to take special precautions with the implants in damp weather and dress accordingly or the right side where I had all the radiation throbs. Wonder news that the builder has finally calmed down. I'm sure that the 'check' is one of the reasons LOL. You are still wise to keep all conversations short and sweet. His anger issues are on him to deal with. Just sorry that you had to take the brunt of it. Yes Benjamin surely does put a smile on my face. I thank you for your kind words. Sue we are on the same page with loving the sound of brewing coffee...I'll add the smell as well I hear you on being in a bright building on such a dark dank day. Plus being around children is uplifting as well. Your supper sounds delicious. Pam hope all is still going well in your world Waving and will CBL when I'm home from getting my manicure! Going to choose the same sparkling brown. Just love that color

Hi again,
Ann, I afraid I wasn't clear in my note- just wanted you to know that no one has COVID. It's another virus called CSV and very common with kids. They can test for it and it's an upper respiratory virus and cough. The danger is that it can be much worse for infants and cause later issues with lungs and pneumonia so DDIL is isolating herself and the baby from the two sick ones - DS and DGS. It'll pass.
Sue, have a good day and hope you are fully staffed today.
I am headed into work. I managed to get D&D out for their brief walk. I had another call from the now cheery builder - sheesh - who said the cleaning crew is delayed a day due to the power issues. They will be there tomorrow but that is when we scheduled our independent inspection. I'm checking with the inspector to see if that is an issue. I sort of hope he wants to switch dates.

Thanks for clarifying that Judy. She is wise to quarantine.
Glad D&D did their business. Benjamin wasted no time came back for his cookie bone and is happily snoring away under his blanket.
Always a fly in the ointment. Praying it all comes together for you.

My manicure with Mindy was just what the doctor ordered...I came out of there with a smile on my face and 10 happy digits I chose the same sparkling brown color. My appointment for manicure and pedicure is in 3 weeks. It's still cold damp and raw out there. Not as bad as yesterday, but definitely not walking weather for me. I will sit the last Benjamin walk out. Going to get jammified and read before supper. Tootles
