Thanks for the start, Karen. How are you and Arya today?
Linda, I am sure it felt good to be back at the museum.
Kathy, has your aunt returned to Florida? If so, how was the trip back? Any cancellations?
Liz, how is St Crazy? Any problems with NYPD and FDNY? We also have a city vaccine mandate that went into effect yesterday. According to local news “Both police and fire unions said they did not have any staff members call off Monday, meaning everyone showed up for their shifts and if anyone left it was at the direction of city supervisors.”
Becky, how are the sales going? I hope you and Kenneth and the four leggeds are well.
I voted this morning. There were only 5 people ahead of me. They have machines now to scan your driver’s license and you have a choice of digital or manual ballot. They only had 3 digital stations, so when it gets busy after work there will be a line outside, because there is not much room inside. There wasn’t much on the ballot: mayor, city commissioners, school board, human services levy. It was only I and the volunteers wearing masks. Kroger was busy when I went after voting and only the septuagenarian cashier and no packer. I was happy I had no frozen goods. They would have begun the melting process.

Chele, my aunt returned to Florida last week and didn't have any problems. She managed to miss the cancellations and the bad weather. That is perfectly normal for her in the protective bubble that somehow always surrounds her, lol. I'm in the unincorporated part of the county and didn't have anything to vote for today. The cities had some local elections, but most of them will be in 2022. I can just picture the septuagenarian cashier. We used to have one that was a packer and not only was he slow, but he would lick his fingers to get the bags apart. That was gross even before Covid! I used to avoid his lane.
Karen, hope you and Arya are doing better today.
Waving to everyone. Have a good evening.

Chele, LOL on the 3-way. I couldn't figure out what the 3rd was, but cheese makes sense. How often does Iggy get a craving for Gold Star? I'm sure Mr. Lemon is happy to be in warmer confines. We're under a frost advisory, so I wondered if you were expecting a freeze. Arya and I seem to be much improved. I even managed a full workout at the gym and a little shopping after (more on that shortly). Nice improvements to the voting process, but you're right that it could get crazy after people get out of work. Not surprised about the lack of mask wearing. I saw the same on my shopping adventures today. Sometimes I would rather bag my own groceries. I take reusable bags and some baggers tend to just throw stuff in any old way. When that happens, I tend to repack at the car.
I finally had a chance to watch the Doctor Who premiere earlier this afternoon, Kathy. I think it's one of my favorite episodes from the Thirteenth Doctor. Is the Chewbacca-looking character new? I think Swarm from the prison colony is. Looks like a major bad actor. I recognize the Wheeping Angels and the Sontaran, and I think I may have seen an Ood in the preview of next week's episode. I wonder if Yaz is going to be replaced by Dan. Or if it will be Claire (Clara??). Nice that your aunt had event-free travels. Some people are lucky like that. Nasty on the bagger licking his fingers. As you indicated, even nastier now. Cute new avatar.
Linda, Arya seems to be just about fully recovered today. She was even jumping when we went out to water the lettuces on the screened porch. It's amazing how emails can pile up when you just ignore them. I got a text from Liz and she didn't mention the vaccine refusers. I know you aren't a major fan of kale. However, I have been using TJ's Cruciferous Crunch as a base for rice, tofu, and veggies for dinner, sticking it in the microwave to warm, and it's been fantastic. I also love the fiber boost.
This is the best day I've had in about a week and the best GI day I've had in several months. I think perhaps some of the dietary and supplement changes I've made may be kicking in. I've been dabbling with intermittent fasting and had dinner at the regular time last night and was headed out to the gym when I remembered I hadn't eaten breakfast yet. I had breakfast for lunch about Noon, after the gym and a shopping trip and I wasn't famished, which is quite unusual. Remember that TJMaxx trip I said I was going to take a couple of weeks after covid jab #2? It finally happened today. I didn't get much--some liquid hand soap that I was running out of, a package of cozy slipper socks, and a 10 lb kettle bell. Then I went to Big Lots where I got some chair and couch throws. One has Santas and the other is a red background with white paws, so I can use that year round. I wanted Christmas throws last year but never ventured anywhere except the grocery store. They are washed and ready to put on when I want to. Dale is at pickleball class and my girl and I are just chilling out for a while until the baseball game starts.

Chele, thanks! The gnomes are by Tanya Kart. I like your harvest avatar too.
Karen, I didn't recognize the Chewbacca-looking character or the Swarm either. I noticed the name of Claire too and wonder if it has any relation to Clara. Seems like a pretty big coincidence. I've always liked the stories with the Weeping Angels. I saw the episode Blink with the Weeping Angels and David Tennant on Sunday too. That's one of my favorites. Carey Mulligan was really good in it.
