Linda, I don’t envy you sewing the chair cover. That’s not easy. Newspaper articles do give a sense of history even how skewed the reporting is. I have done the eggplant that way for eggplant parmigiana and for eggplant “fries.”
Kathy, I forgot about grilled cheese. Yum! Didn’t there used to be a TV Western called Smith and Jones? Okay, I googled it. It was called Alias Smith and Jones.
Karen, I had never heard of the sacha inchi seed. I had to look it up. How does it taste? I have watched the first 4 episodes of 9-1-1 and half of the 5th. Now Chimney is gallivanting? Wonder who will come back? I hope Osteo went well this week. How is Arya coming along?
We had a visit from a white breasted nuthatch today. I even got to see it go down a tree head first. It is so pretty. Iggy and I went to Aldi’s. It was my first visit since they renovated and it no longer looks like a Dollar Store. It was Iggy’s first time at an Aldi’s. I think we’ll be going more often. We bought the wine advent calendar. It has 24-6 oz bottles of a different wine. I doubt we will get through it all, but it will be fun whenever we do try a bottle. They had a limit of two per customer so it must be popular. Cheers 🥂

Chele, thanks for the start. I used to watch Alias Smith and Jones, but had forgotten about it. The Doctor often uses John Smith as an alias and the episode introduced Martha Jones, so that's where the Smith and Jones title came from. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a nod to the old series. I would love to see a nuthatch! It's been quiet around the pond lately, although I did see the red-shouldered hawk flying around. The advent calendar sounds like a great way to try out their wines. Cheers!
It was really dark when I got up this morning and it's cloudy today. It looks wintry, but it's in the 70s. Rain is supposed to move in tomorrow along with a cold front. Hope everyone has a good day.

Have never seen a nuthatch! Lot of chatty mockingbirds right now.
That calendar should give you something to look forward to every day!
Museum work this morning I finished cataloging the rest of the stuff from the now gone Irish Pub Rula Bula here. Last item was the ten foot clock sign !
Home a few minutes then out to lunch outside at a local brewery with friends we have not seen in well over a year. Home and out again to library and get gas at $3.59. People keep blaming the president for that..presidents have nothing to do with gas prices, shipping or retail prices. Gas is driving up shipping costs. Thx OPEC and all the gulf refinery problems with weather. sure did a number in the Tx and Louisiana coast.
So no cooking supper unless I nuke a bit of leftover eggplant parm for DH,
not used to being on the go the whole day end to end!

Thanks for the start, Chele. What do you put in your favorite tuna salad for sandwiches? I used to have boiled eggs, onions, and relish in mine, as well as a little sugar. I remember Alias Smith and Jones. Talk about going way back! I don't know if I've had actual sacha inchi seed, but the seed butter is kind of sweet even in the unsweetened version. Kind of tastes like a cross between an almond and edamame. Cool on the nuthatch. We've seen a few at the feeder but none on a tree. Lucky you! Glad you enjoyed Aldi. I used to avoid it like the plague when they opened the first store near the other house about 20 years ago. They have really upgraded in the past few years. Did you buy anything else interesting besides the advent calendar? Osteo was ok but not great. Some days you have it and some days you don't.
Linda, how did the casserole turn out yesterday? Bet the leftovers will be good. I know what you mean about Italian food. Did you go to the museum today? Chair sounds nice--and historical.
Did you watch the Doctor Who global premiere or the 8pm "extended" premiere, Kathy? I wondered what the difference was. I also wondered if the Smith and Jones had something to do with the old series. It seems like such a simple fix to change the acceptable time zone from standard to daylight in the legislation. But then Congress doesn't seem to be taking advantage of simple fixes these days. Yes, Christmas is complicated. I texted DN#3 (the one without kids) to see if they wanted separate gift cards or one they can use to buy something for their new house that is currently under major renovation. I used to love grilled cheese. What kind of cheese do you use on yours? I used to love to mix it up--pepper jack gouda, buffalo jack, and sometimes all of the above. Your weather sounds like ours only about 20 degrees colder and we already have the rain.
Has anyone bought greeting cards lately? I decided to get a card to send to DN#1 and his new wife. I saw one card with an $11.99 price tag and several for $8.99 each. I found a simple one that was $4.99 and bought it. I never thought that would be the price of a cheap card. Granted, I haven't bought cards for a while, but this is outrageous! PO isn't cheap either. The gift I bought for the new baby fit in a priority mail envelope the size of a manilla folder and still cost $9.30 to send. Gym was a little crazy but got everything done. Dale get his second shingles vaccine tomorrow and he's planning to be symptomatic. We do have to take Arya to the vet on Saturday, so I hope he's recovered by then.
Waving to the other chicks!

Individual birthday cards are getting ridiculous! Especially since younger people just do FB or animated online stuff. Hallmark stores currently have buy one get one half off on boxes of Xmas cards and wrapping paper.
Bob had more casserole tonight..still very good. I had a bigger lunch so I just had a couple Ritz crackers, bit if cheddar and glass of milk.
