Good morning friends. Slept very well last night and woke up feeling refreshed. I am ever so grateful for that pleasure. Also grateful that we didn't lose power during our horrible wind/rain/thunder/lightening storm!!!!
Today is pasta meatball meat sauce garlic bread and eggplant day. Yup, I shall be hitting reset BIG time tomorrow. Nothing like good ol' comfort food LOL.
Nice and sunny out there today so I'll get in a few good hood walks.
Waving and shall CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ It's snowing!! At first it was just drifting down, but now the flakes are getting larger, and I see it is starting to accumulate on the grass and especially on the tree branches. I don't think they are predicting any on the pavement for which I am glad because we have to drive a distance today to meet DBIL for lunch. The party last evening was very fun! It was a small group of about 15 (by invitation only) so it included some of my very favorite people! I got to chat with most of them throughout the party. The hostess was one of our Head Start teachers (the only one I haven't worked with over the years) but I have talked to her a lot and they are all friends, so very accepting. I was the only one who was not a teacher, so I felt quite special. The birthday girl was very surprised, and told me that (believe it or not!) this was her first EVER birthday party! Made it even more special. Her last day with us will be the Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and she will be sorely missed! She has been our Head Start OLSHA liaison the 5 years I've been there. I came home last night about 8 o'clock and watched a little TV with DH. He was more tired than me (I was still a bit wound up from the gathering) so went off to bed and I had about an hour of quiet time. I slept very well despite a very active dream about shopping for My Pillow(s) for Christmas. Funny because I've never wanted one I am looking forward to a quieter day today. I have done a couple of loads of laundry already and may dust and vacuum the living room and call it "done" for this weekend. Then when we get home from (late) lunch I will take some time to read. I am currently wearing my new Clark's that I got Friday around the house to "break them in". Actually I need to find out for sure that they are really comfortable and I do that by wearing them indoors on the carpeted floors before wearing them out anywhere. It was funny because we stopped in a Famous Footwear store to look around, and I was headed for the Clearance rack when I came across a young gal putting our some new Clark's and they had exactly the shoe I needed in my wardrobe. I only had one pair of black flats and I have had them for years and never liked them. I remember when I ordered them online years ago that they were the only pair I could find. I now have a pair that I LOVE!! I have already put the previous pair in the Thrift Store pile to go next time. I think I will be doing some more "Christmas shopping" this week. DH mentioned this morning that he wished his truck was warming up (it's only 34 outside). I had mentioned that perhaps Santa would bring him a remote starter for Christmas?? I bought the one for his last truck years ago and made the appointment to have it installed the day after Christmas, and that worked out very well. Looks like I better do it again. It will simplify my shopping and make him very happy! BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Sue. Areas around us got snow yesterday. It didn't happen in our neck of the woods. Actually I'm happy as supper is already planned and I wouldn't feel right not having grilled cheese and tomato soup Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the bday party. How special that she shared it was the first one she ever had. I imagine she will be missed by all that knew her. Wearing shoes around the house to break them in is exactly what I do and have always done even as a child. That way if they need to be returned there isn't any 'wear' on the outside Nice that you found a pair that you love and will share some with the Thrift Shop. ' Oh I'm sure DH is going to LOVE his Christmas present. We did take a walk and although it started out sunny, the sun went in and the wind picked up. We were happy that Benjamin performed quickly, walked a little longer and now I'm very happy to be at home. It's not supposed to rain, but it sure feels damp out there. Mother Nature will decide! I'm now going to traipse over to the sectional feet up and kindle opened. Tootles....waving and wishing Judy and Pam a happy day!

Hi All ~ We are back from a delightful lunch with DBIL. We meet at the same place every weekend and have tried many of the offerings on the menu. Today I had a Chicken Fajita Salad with a touch of avocado and avocado vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious (and I was hungry).
Ann ~ Thanks for mentioning the grilled cheese with tomato soup supper! I checked and I have all the ingredients, so that is what we are having. Sometimes we have it for just a dusting, but today we have enough that the tree limbs out front are drooping greatly! So that is supper!
Wishing a good day to Pam and Judy!!

Ann ~ It made me happy that Carl smiled about our mentioning the tomato soup. My DH kissed me after supper and thanked me for remembering "our tradition". Of course, we have so many but we enjoy each and every one of them.
Sweet dreams .....

Good evening friends!
I had every intention of posting yesterday. But then Abby called and asked for a sleepover and I got quickly swamped, lol. Her visits always cheer us up. DD1 and Anna were headed to north LA where Anna will run in the state cross country track meet tomorrow. Jude and DSIL were off working, so it worked out fine for all of us. I dropped her off this evening with her other grandmother who was going to watch her until the guys got back from work. We played lots of card games and Monopoly Jr. and made caramel corn and my OO for this week. She loves measuring and stirring.
Debbie and I have managed to walk daily, so I am meeting my step goal pretty much each day. I also got in some gardening time yesterday, digging sweet potatoes and hoeing weeds. The scale was up a little today, but I attribute it to the shrimp quesadillas we had last night for dinner and the salty popcorn snack that Abby insists on during her sleepovers. DH made the quesadillas with Carb Smart tortillas and they were quite good garnished with chopped tomatoes and lf sour cream.
Sue - We got pics today of our MI DGDs catching snowflakes on their tongues, so I knew you had the white stuff today. Great that you could think of something your DH needs and likes for Christmas. Alas, I am married to a man who loves gardening (but can't do it now), tshirts with funny sayings and reading. He has tons of both tshirts and books, so I am at a loss.
Ann - Your Sunday meal sounds scrumptious! DH and I love Italian food. Grilled cheese and tomato soup is one of DH's favorite lunches. I never thought about it, but it could be related to him growing up in the Colorado Rockies at 9000 ft. altitude. They had LOTS of snow and very cold winters.
Judy - I am sure you had a busy weekend, but are glad to be HOME!
