It’s Clean Out Your Refrigerator Day. I don’t have to worry about this; Iggy is obsessive about clearing out the fridge.

Have a good Monday, All
Got a big whiff of some man’s cologne last night, immediately clogged up and woke up with a migraine.
Anyhow, I may or may not be back later.

Good Afternoon Chicks and thanks for the start Chele.
Chele - sorry that you woke up with that migraine from the cologne. I was up in the middle of the night with Zoe who was getting sick and vomiting in various areas of the house. I decided to stay and work from home as she doesn't seem to be feeling well and Gary isn't always a good care giver. How did the birds do with the snow? We have gotten cold again but I think for only a few days and then back to almost 60 on Thursday this week. I was out running errands on Sat. at Wally world and Marshall's. Bought a few Christmas gifts for work at Marshall's but on the way home the sky turned very dark and it began to lightening, thunder and rain heavily.
Kathy - congrats on DN finishing his thesis and having it accepted. I hope the job with the company he interned with will be a good choice for him. Still waiting on my DN to see if he can get past his test next month and then be able to start a residency. How are DM and the rest of the family doing?
Linda - wow on all those tasks you've been up to. I would think that upstate NY has had some accumulation of snow this weekend. We're only in the mid 40s today and probably tomorrow as well. I love the Christmas lights as well. Don't see too many of them any more in the neighborhood but will sometimes drive around town to enjoy them after Thanksgiving. Yikes on Bob's penchant for picking up all the goodies for the holidays! Sometimes men will just be men!
Karen - Home stretch on the MG presidency coming up. How is Arya feeling? Is Dale all done his pickleball now? I don't mind being out with the pups in the cold as long as I am dressed right. Managed to get Wally to the park on Sunday which he always loves but once again there were people there with their dogs off leash and that just always creates a problem. Heard from DSIL last night and unfortunately the news is not good. She and her husband have decided to stop chemo. After being on chemo for the better part of a full year, his body is pretty shot and there has been a growth that's come back on the pancreas. They will speak to the oncologist this week. DSIL had him in FLA for 2 weeks and that was a warm and "happy time" for them. She has been an amazing wife and warrior with him every step of the way. They will figure out palliative care at home for him and Gary and I will stop by to see them on Thanksgiving. How are you feeling? How's the GI been? Have you set another appointment date for Arya yet?
Waving to Becky and Denise! Hope you all have a safe and good remainder of the day dear ladies. Ciao for now~

Chele, hope the migraine isn't too bad and that you feel better soon. There are certain colognes that clog me up too. I had a rude awakening thanks to my neighbor's lawn service early this morning. Even in retirement I still hate Mondays, lol! At least I didn't have to trudge off to work.
Liz, I think DN's first job will be good on his resume since he's getting experience at the Space Center. He'll probably move on after a year or two, but you never know. I remember that stress of finding my first job after graduating, so I'm glad he doesn't have to go through that. DM just got her booster shot and just had a sore arm, so she is done with that for now. I'm hoping the rest of us can get it soon since it's been over 6 months since our original vaccinations. Good luck to your DN. Glad you could stay home with Zoe, but hope she improves. Very sorry to hear about your DSIL's husband.
Karen, I know you'll be glad to be done with your MG presidency. Did you see last night's Doctor Who? Another good episode and I loved the callback to one of the lines from Blink.
Linda, lol on the Lady teams sitting on the bench embroidering! I think a lot of teams are dropping it. My neighborhood isn't as competitive with the lights, but there are a few that go all out. We like to go around and see them too.

Thanks for the start, Chele. Sorry about the migraine. Why do people feel the need to use that much fragrance? Whatever happened to "a little dab'll do ya"? Some of my thicker masks help some, but sometimes nothing helps. I have managed to keep the fridge pretty well cleaned out lately. But it hasn't always been that way.
Liz, good to hear from you but sorry to hear about Zoe's continuing problems. Is the vomiting continuing today? Probably did both of you good for you to work from home today. Shame on people for not properly leashing their dogs at the park. We used to have those problems at a trail near the other house where leashes were mandatory but some people thought the rules didn't apply to them. Many of them would have a leash in their hand, so they knew better. Christmas shopping in a t-storm with pouring rain isn't something to get you into the Christmas spirit. I don't blame DSIL's DH for stopping chemo. That is so rough on the body. Have they tried any alternative treatments? I recently saw a presentation by Chris Wark about his success with his own cancer and the people he has helped since he got diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer when he was 24 (almost 20 years ago). The diet is healthy but really extreme and there are other things he recommends as well. The time in FL would have been a big help. Arya seems to be doing fine. We haven't decided when to take her in for a redo on the needle aspiration of the basset bump. I think the swelling is decreasing. FM, the adoption coordinator, and I were emailing over the weekend about the bump under her eye and we think, given the circumstances of her ending up in rescue, physical abuse is not out of the question. But Arya won't tell, so we'll never know for certain. GI system seems to be responding to the ayurvedic herbs and new type of probiotic I've been taking. Tonight will be my last formal meetings of my presidential term. I'll have a role in the awards dinner next month, but it won't be an official meeting. I'm just thrilled we have a full slate of officers. I haven't been able to miss a meeting in 3 years. I will need to go to the January meeting because that has a joint meeting of the old board and the new board. But after that, I'm pretty much free to miss a meeting if I don't feel like going.
I think your awakening would have been rude regardless of day of the week, Kathy. I had originally intended to watch Doctor Who this afternoon, but I got busy doing too many other things so it will have to be tomorrow instead.
Linda, sometimes I'm glad we don't live in an actual neighborhood so there is no holiday decoration competition. In fact, our lights can barely be seen from the road. I don't know what I'll put up outdoors this year. Part of it depends upon the weather. I might just do indoor stuff this year. Dale could care less and it's just extra work for me. LOL on embroidering on the bench. With both men's and women's basketball teams being good here, the "lady" helps fans to know which game to tune in for on which day. The men played yesterday and the women play tonight.
Typical Monday here. Figured I would post before Arya's dinnertime followed by an early dinner for us with my first meeting starting at 5:30.

Liz, So sorry about his cancer after all that effort and misery. So many nice people who do not deserve this.
Hope Zoe stops vomiting
Chele, I hear you on cologne.does it to me too. A lot of older people do not smell as well anymore and get used to one fragrance and think it is not there.
got my lights hooked up…looks pretty. 4 houses already. Two of us have more to do. Tomorrow I will put the little porch tree out by the door next to an outlet, maybe do a little that remains. We are not competing, just little kids…we all love lights and are proud of the cheer on our street amidst so much darkness.
was going to do a bit of groceries…then decided I needed to go to the Hallmark store since none of the grocery or pharmacy places have Thanksgiving cards! they have a mini postoffice and I wanted the otters in snow stamps for cards. but I put in my black sneakers I bought for winter with the summer ones last July and they are too short! I have had to quit wearing the others..big toes started hurting. I guess my arches have cone down further and The foot is longer again. Would you believe DSW took back the new shoes? So I found a pair that fit…egad 1.5 sizes bigger. I remember my dbil who was a track coach saying sneakers are a size bigger than regular shoes. But wow. Regular shoes for me are now 9. Most of my life they were 8AA. Dr said I had some of the highest arches he had seen. Well even with foot flatting down and getting longer, they are still high. Interesting changes life brings.
Got back to my original chores. Looked for cards,…wrapping stuff, puzzles while waiting for post office to open from lunch them there was a line. So that took longer. Only one checkout at grocery store..more waiting and remembered to drop off the Toys For Tots at vet.
That day got longer!
