Good morning friends. Another great sleeping night for which I'm grateful. Today shall be spent with no agenda. I will continue to lose myself in my book. Nice light reading.
Walking shall also be done. I've been meeting my garmin goal these past 2 days and it feels good.
Tonight we are having chicken tenders, pickled beets, French green beans with mushrooms and a Rhodes French roll.
Waving and shall CBL

Hi Ann, I love how you have your menu planned early in the day. It's key to how well you have done with WW over the years. We are plugging away with the unpacking. We have several items in the driveway near the garage that need to be hauled to the dump. DH keeps telling me that it's an easy job, etc. The young DH would do it in a flash, but it's not so easy now. Heavy things like the old stove (not sure why we stored that to begin with but oh well), and a couple chairs and an older tv, etc. I called a guy this morning already and he is coming at 8:30. It will ease my mind to at least haul away the eye sores. We will deal with items closed up in the garage and storage unit after the holidays. DH and I have enough to do to set up beds and move some other furniture around inside the house right now. All I really want to do is relax and enjoy our new place. Soon... DDIL emailed that she is shipping a bunch of stuff up here including a new baby swing. They are only here 4-5 days. It's a different world from my perspective. I am so excited to see the baby, though!!! And their 2 year old is a riot and very funny all the time. He talks up a storm. Very bright little guy. Enjoy the quiet today, Ann. What are all of you doing for Thanksgiving? Today my goal is to bring up the canned goods and non-perishables that are in big boxes in the basement from the move. I'll check dates and chuck a bit at a time. I remember that "how do you eat an elephant" phrase. One bite at a time! My boss has been writing a lot with requests - he might be testing our ability to stay on top of things remotely. I chuckled last night as I got about 5 emails after 9 PM. We'll see how it goes.

Judy I am so happy that you have someone coming to haul away the heavy stuff. Great idea to leave the rest of it tucked away out of view to be dealt with after the holidays. Very wise move. Why add more stress to the mix when it can be easily avoided. Concentrate on seeing your grands and focus on making more happy memories. The rest will all fall into place I'm sure. We are staying home for Thanksgiving. Later in the evening we'll get together with Linda and Mike for a glass of wine. As always Benjamin is invited LOL to the overload of emails. Sounds like he doesn't like making decisions or is it more that he can't 'let go' of things? In a bit we'll hit the pavement. Looks like it wanted to rain earlier...now the sun is trying to peek through. It's much colder today than it was yesterday. I'll walk...but not sure how far I'll get. Waving...... Yes I've always been a planner, Judy. Even when I go WAY over I still track LOL...that's when I'm following the Ann Plan

Took another Benjamin walk in the back of the house...when I was coming in it was spitting snow!!!! Now the wind has died down and the sun is out. I guess this is going to be a typical New England day where it will change on a dime!
Carl went to Walmart to pick up something for one of our neighbors. I forget what he said it is and no biggie. She's not feeling well...fell and hurt her back. My heart goes out to her.
Later!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I've had an eventful day already. I left to go meet VBF for WW WI half hour away only to discover that that Studio has closed - no note on the door - nothing!! So we had to go to another Studio another half hour away where we were able to WI. I lost a lb which is always fun! Then we adjourned to Leo's Coney Island where we had our favorite breakfast and many cups of coffee and much conversation. Then it was a half hour drive back to my car, and then my long drive home. All in all, I left home at 8:30 and got back home at almost noon!! If they keep switching Studios around, we'll one day not be able to WI??
Anyway, on the way home I received a text that (once again) my scheduled blood donation scheduled for this afternoon has been cancelled due to staffing shortages. This is the second time this has happened!! They will now send me umpteen messages about scheduling a blood donation .... makes no sense!!
So I came home and put in a load of laundry and decided to check in with all of you. I have two good books at the ready, one by an author I have enjoyed before and the other a new author to me. But both sound equally good and so when I am done here, I will be settling into one of them while my clothes dry.
I need to move some stuff around to install my new printer, but I think I will wait until I feel more rested and more in the mood. It might as well be fun when I do it!
BBL. Make a great day!!

The same thing used to happen to Carl and I when we donated blood. Unfortunately they did away with all the blood donation sites that are close by....they expect you to travel to either Worcester or Springfield which is way too far of a drive. I hated to give that up, especially seeing as when I was doing radiation I could not give blood. Not sure if that has changed. I agree...it doesn't make any sense at all. I've accomplished all that I set out to do...did a little meal prep and a very quick cleaning of the kitchen and bathrooms. The printer will be there when you are ready to do the installation. As you said, may as well enjoy it Waving and if I don't pop in later...will catch y'all tomorrow.

Hi all,
Sue, that really is ironic about the blood donation stuff. You are so good to try to give blood only to find the centers closed. And then, to be hounded about signing up again is pretty nutty. I’m sure the need is critical so it’s too bad that they can’t get enough people to help with the process. I guess that’s what you call a real catch 22. Also, you are a very dedicated WW meeting member! I probably would have given up after the first closed sign but isn’t it good that you didn’t. Glad you had a good visit with your friend and a long chatty breakfast. Nothing better.
The haul away junk guy was here before 830 this morning and took everything in a big truck. I am sure it would have taken DH at least four trips in his regular sized pick up to get to the dump with the stuff. DH was very relieved that it was all gone.
I feel sort of sad that I haven’t heard a word from my hairdresser/friend after I was completely honest with her about her plan. She is probably angry, but that’s OK. I feel as though someone needed to say something.
I’m in the middle of doing several loads of laundry including bedding – mattress pads, sheets etc. for when we get the bed set up. I also placed an online grocery order with Stop & Shop that I will pick up about 5 o’clock. I like the curbside pick up and I think I do better shopping online as far as efficiency and sticking to my list and probably saving money , too. I’m excited because I haven’t done any cooking in over a month and I hope I remember how. I found some nice recipes from the Emily bites site if you know that. One is a lasagna but it has lots of veggies and whole wheat lasagna noodles etc. i’ll make that tomorrow to have on hand for DS and DGS when he arrives. I thought about making the noodles gluten-free, but it really doesn’t matter because there could be cross-contamination with the pans etc. I’m nervous cooking for DDIL and think it’s better when she does her own thing.
I felt especially tired today so after I did a bunch of work I used my lunch hour to lounge in the new La-Z-Boy sofa and watch an episode of Shetland during which I fell asleep! I feel like I could sleep for a month or so especially when the days are growing so short.
We didn’t hook up our phones for a landline yet and I’m starting to think we may not need it. So many people I know have ditched their land lines. We’ve hardly used ours in the last few years. What do all of you do? We paid for land lines through the Xfinity and we have the outlets ready but I may cancel the service. Not sure yet.
Ann, that’s wild that you had snow today. Like you say, things change in a NY minute around here!

Judy ~ I just have a minute while DH is showering so we can leave to meet VBF and her DH for supper. We ditched our landline years ago. It began because the phone company screwed up our service and found ourselves without internet service. By the time we got it restored (through another company) we told them to just take it! We've never missed it! We both have cell phones; and at that time we had a business line attached to our fax machine. Since then, I have shed that one as well. Such a more simple life!!
Sorry about your hairdresser/friend. Just because people need to hear the truth doesn't mean they want it. But you were definitely the best person to clue her in since you were more of a mother figure. I applaud you for being able to set your own feelings aside and do what was best for her. That is beautifully unselfish.
Have a great evening!

Judy happy you are letting DDIL do her own thing. Much easier and no stress.
Sue we also gave up our landline as we both have cell phones.
We found out that a couple that lives in our community lost their 18.5 year old chihuahua Buster. He was such an awesome little guy. Our hearts go out to Jack and Jane.
