Did get to see the eclipse just a few minutes past its prime time. 4:15 my bladder woke me up! It was really neat. I didn't even have to go outside, just look out the bathroom window!
Not much to say as I was pretty much a slug yesterday. Feeling guilty this morning. Hope I can make myself go see my friend with COPD today. She doesn't get many visitors and really loves it when I visit - really when anyone visits. To her, talking on the phone just isn't the same.
In the summertime I wear crocs around the house and in the yard - easy to put on, have a pretty good arch, etc.
Not much else to say today - except everyone please make your day a good one. Cheers!

I had my left total knee replacement surgery yesterday. I am still in the hospital. Had some physical therapy yesterday and I'm supposed to have some more this morning... Obviously there's pain but I think I'm doing really well...
Still trying to track my points too LOL. They have me on a low-carb diet because of my diabetes. I had a little nausea day yesterday but I've actually been eating better than I thought I would. Surgery was in the morning I had lunch and dinner last night and an apple. Just finished breakfast with eggs and a little thing of oatmeal and a cup of coffee... Very satisfying and I'm saving the apple for later!
Good morning. Emily, glad you got to spend time with your boys. I sometimes wish my grands were that age again but their almost all adults now and I don't see them as often as I'd like.
Just got a call from DS. He's picking me up in a bit to go out for breakfast. He's still having a hard time about his dad being gone and doesn't feel comfortable coming here. I think he sees his dad sitting in his chair and it bothers him. Going out for breakfast is good.
No other plans until supper. My neighbor invited me over for supper. I am so lucky to have someone close to talk to. She is going through the same thing as I am. He husband passed away a few months ago so we can talk about what's going on.
The other day when I posted I was sad and lonely someone asked me if I thought I wasn't getting enough attention now. That really hurt my feelings. It was when my DD was quarantined, my son was out of town for work and I was doing a self imposed quarantine because of my exposure to Covid. I pretty much didn't see anyone for a week. I'll get over it.
Shragae - so very glad you're doing so well! It's amazing these days how fast they can get you up and around, eating regular food, and out of the hospital! Hoping the positive progress sticks around throughout your recovery!

Had a good day yesterday. Got the Christmas deco finished except inside the fire place which will only take about 20 minutes after I buy batteries. House looks so pretty. Christmas deco is so comforting and cozy. We will keep it up until after New Year’s Day. Glad I did it early again this year.
So funny. Thanksgiving dinner at our house will feel like Christmas dinner.
Today we are going to Sam’s club, Best Buy and CVS. We will put Christmas storage boxes back into their spot in garage.
Shragae- so glad the surgery is over and you are doing well. How long are you in the hospital?
Peggy Sue- hopefully your dd doesn’t have Covid. Is this the dd that lives with you?
Emily- sounded like a great day with the boys
Betty- glad you are having breakfast with your son today. I think in time he will be able to visit in your home. After a few months my mom got rid of my dads huge recliner chair. I think that was easier for all of us not seeing the empty chair and none of us felt comfortable sitting in it. It was to big for the room anyway and after it was gone re arranged living room how my mom wanted it. I am so sorry you are going through this. I know it must be very hard to adjust. I am so glad you are surrounded by family and friends. Glad we are helping you.
Emily glad you had a good time with the boys. Sounds like they are both smart little guys – all those As and Bs. Isn’t it great that they have a Grandma to lavish them with praise….. Nothing like a little bit of encouragement to keep the motivation going. Keeping fingers crossed the car passes inspection. I’ve done the repeat and repeat bit, and it is not fun. Is it emissions, causing the trouble? Hopefully its, nothing serious…
Betty sounds like you have a full day planned – two meals out, that’s great. Enjoy your day.
Shragae glad you are doing well. I’m going to follow your recovery because that’s one of the joints that I need to really have replaced and am trying to figure out how to do that without going to a rehab facility after. My SIL, the budinsky, had her second one done this year and she was home the day after and pretty much self-sufficient within a week. Wishing you healing vibes and a really quick recovery.
Yesterday some of you mentioned the negatives of clogs. I’ve worn clogs now for well over 7 years and never had a problem of any kind (slipping out of or tripping) because of them. I wear Easy Spirit brand and find them comfortable and stabilizing. They slip on and off without having to tie them on. They are snug and haven’t done anything negative to my toes, arches or heels for that matter. I wouldn’t think of wearing anything else. Just saying, quite often articles provide a broad perspective and you could be missing out on something if you don’t judge for yourself.
Peggy Sue, hope DD tests negative. Is she feeling ill or was she exposed?
Heading out to the veggie store in a few minutes. Wishing everyone a peaceful and pleasant day!
Oh,dear Betty, so sorry your feelings were hurt, know sometimes things are written but not meant the way they are read. Has happened to me before , both ways, to me and by me.
Penny, my podiatrist had me wear Crocs when I was dealing with a foot problem and I got the ones with the strap across the back. They were fine for that but couldn't wait to get out of them. Felt so heavy on my feet and my kids were tired of me complaining about them. Did help the foot though. He knows I am a barefoot person and always shakes his head at me. Too old to change now. I gave up high heels but not being barefoot. Yes in house in winter as well. have carpet and floors are warm. Notice the difference in the kitchen floor since I had the laminate put in . It is colder. have basement with heating vents down down there as well, so it is not too bad. Today I am just wearing socks with gripers on the bottom.
It is colder today than it has been, almost noon and still only 33°. I took card to the mailbox and that wind is cold. Of course , I am still running out there with no coat on. I left my leather jacket in the car yesterday and not a good coat to do that. It would be too cold to put on if I needed it. Brought it in as I want to take it with me tomorrow. Little warmer in Morgantown but not much so just in case. Jeans and sweater will be the clothes for 2 days, lots of activity going on with Elias I am sure. He will be officially 2 years old .
I am not sure what I am going to do today, kind of a play by ear.
Shragae, hope you do well at home, glad all went well with the knee replacement. Follow all orders seems to be the best thing. Will someone be there to help you out ? I guess I don't know if anyone lives with you or not. Sure you told us but sometimes things like that take awhile to sink in for me. Is there any more remodeling going on right now for you? While you are recuperating?
Saw the full moon about 10pm and then the cloud cover moved in. I guess the eclipse is supposed to be a long lasting one but we are so over cast with a winter cold front that know it is not happening here. Seems to be our story for all things " in the sky" !!! I was up at 4pm with bathroom trip also but no luck.
