Good Saturday morning all. And thank you, Marlene. I’m glad to see that you have your new laptop up and running. When you get a chance, will you please send me an email with the brand, model and specifics of it. I need to replace mine, but at a moderate price.
I don’t have much planned for today. I’m still not pushing my vacuum cleaner around (Dd has been doing it for me), but I could vacuum my furniture I think, and using a dust cloth surely wouldn’t hurt me and that needs to be done.
DD in St Paul, who has taken me for my surgery and all the doctor appointments related to it, invited me and other Dd and family to their home for Thanksgiving (we’ve all had our boosters). I will be going there. However, now my DGS in Lanesboro invited me and my other DD (his mom) to spend Thanksgiving at their home. As much as I want to see them AND my new DGGD and the 5 other kids, I won’t be going. They are all recovering from having COVID around the time the baby was born at home on the 11th, but I still don’t want to chance it. I’ll wait for the next opportunity. I’ll stick to my first plan of going to DD’s in St. Paul as planned. As our family grows, and are close and yet not so close together, it gets confusing. As usual, my DS in Indiana won’t be here. They plan to come for Christmas, but that might be delayed a little too. I won’t get into that now.
I haven’t seen anything from Shraga yet today. Hopefully, she’ll feel good enough to post something to us soon. Prayers for you, Shraga!
Thought I would get back here sooner but as you see I didn't.
I was busy cleaning yesterday so today I'm taking it easy. I'm a little fearful of doing too much too soon, but I got the BR cleaned & floor scrubbed yesterday. I also dusted more baseboards & the kitchen chairs & table legs. Lots of crawling around on my hands & knees but no pain. I was stiff though this morning.
The guys are raking & bagging leaves today. I think this should be the end of the leaves, as most are have fallen. I raked leaves out of the few shrubs we have & away from the lattice work that surrounds the deck. I thought that might make it easier for DS to reach the leaves with the mulcher. It's a nice day for yard work. I have a hosta slip that DD gave me to plant by the bow window now that the work crew is gone. DH & I may do that this afternoon but I have to rest a while after raking. I wanted to scrub & wax the kitchen floor today - not that it needs it (wink) but that won't happen. Maybe tomorrow. I've been saying 'tomorrow' for a very long time so one of these days I'll get it right.
Mary, I'll send you that info about my computer. I know that feeling in regards to kids not vaccinated. It was a heart breaking choice we had to make. But when it gets down to bottom of it, they have made the choice by not getting vaccinated, so I guess they aren't as concerned about getting together as I am/was.
Phyl, I use to have everyone home for Thanksgiving & then nothing at Christmas. I figured the grandkids wouldn't want to leave their presents & their parents were more then happy to stay home. One year our DD from AK was home a couple weeks before Christmas & we had gift exchange & our meal then. That worked out so well that we never went back to getting together at Christmas. Happy to hear that Don is feeling better.
Marm, did you start the new meds yet? If so, how are they sitting with you. I'm really concerned about you & your health issues. DH wants to come see you guys so that MIGHT happen sometime this winter. Will depend on how long my back/sciatica nerve behaves.
So far it seems the biggest change with this computer is that it has Windows 11. What I saw online said it came with 10 & as soon as 11 was available I could upgrade for free. Well I really haven't had any interest in 11. When I picked it up last night that's the first thing they told me & some of my excitement for the new one went down the drain. They assured me it wasn't much different & would help me make the transition if needed. Thank goodness DH has the patience to deal with that kind of stuff & will teach me too. When I took the old one in, I told them how I was losing stuff while typing & I thought I might be accidently hitting the touch pad that is located in the middle just beneath the keys. That can be off or on so they turned it off on this one. I never used it before & so far, so good:) Otherwise I haven't noticed any difference.
I would like to hear from Shargae also, but she seems to fit in good on the other thread so maybe that will be her preferred thread to post on. Since I post on that same thread sometimes I will see her there.
Have a good day. It's good to be back - even though I wasn't gone that long.
Marlene, Good to see you back. I know when I got my computer it was I think 10. I groaned. but the kid assured me it was so like 7, Not like what it used to be. I always buy from him as he knows what I need/don't need. Like he said you don't do that much so I don't need all gismo's. Then he takes care of everything. That would be great seeing you guys again. If not here maybe meet half way. I'm ok so far just 1 day of meds so far. Couple strange feelings. I'm recording anything different.
Mary, Nice to have DD Vac. for you. And going to TG at one's place.
Phyl, I've been meaning to ask are you doing Kego? Is it working? Happy to hear hubby is feeling better. Just so you don't come down w/it.
Well again I've been getting things done. So nice staying home makes a big difference. DH worked in the yard. Lot of cleaning leaves. It would be nice to say the last. Might be. But we forever have them anyhow. Friend dropped over w/Pumpkin Bread, Bean Soup, And fresh Pineapple. We're not the only ones she dropped food off to.
I pray Shraga is doing ok. Sleep Well Friends... Marm~~
