So Michael Flynn was warned by the Pentagon when he retired about taking money from foreign countries. Just goes to show what an arrogant SOB he is. No wonder he and Tweety got along so well. Clearly he knew exactly what he was doing all along, and yet he had the gall to stand up there and chant "lock her up" about Hillary to say nothing of making up and spreading false rumors about her. He's disgusting as is the rest of that vile administration.
I can hardly wait to see them all go down in flames, and I have to believe that's coming.

Karma is a wonderful thing!....." Lock HIM up"!!!
Was disappointed to see President Obama accepting $400K for a Wall Street speech. I was hoping the next line would read, that he was donating it all to a charity/cause. Like Planned Parenthood or something. Make no mistake, I still like President Obama, just don't understand the need for these speeches. What are your thoughts?
Weather so iffy here...wait 5 minutes & it changes. I worked in yard yesterday afternoon & it was wonderful...sunshine & fresh air! Hoping to get outside later after some errands.

So Mnuchin declined to guarantee that the middle class won't pay more under the new tax plan. As long as the one per cent get their cut, I guess. Some conservative economist noted that the one sheet of paper was more like what a 12 year old Newt Gingrich would have asked Santa for Christmas.

As for the paid speeches, I think I am probably in a minority but I don't have a problem with it. The way I look at it is any ex-President or ex-Secretary of State or whatever office like that has a uniqueness that very few ever obtain. Therefore, if an organization is willing to pay that much to hear them speak, then I have no problem with them accepting the fee. Anyone in the workforce tries to get top dollar for what skills/knowledge they have to offer.
Now, what I would have a problem with is if President Obama, Secretary Clinton, etc. turned around and took money to use their clout to sway laws in that organization's favor. Does that make sense? I have a problem with Congressmen, Senators, etc. becoming lobbyists when their term is up but I don't have a problem with them getting paid high dollars for speaking engagements.
I know I am probably splitting hairs. DH was very uncomfortable with Hillary's taking that money from Wall Street before running again. I didn't have a problem with it though, unless it could be shown that she used her influence then to benefit them in other ways.

Makes you wonder just what he's got to ask for immunity. I think he might say that Trump knew about all of that stuff and told him to lie on his security clearance form.

Did you see where they couldn't even say how this tax paln would impact a family of four making $60,000 a year? Um, shouldn't you know these things before you come out with the tax plan? I heard that they are getting rid of all deductions except mortgage interest and charitable contrubutions - including student loan interest. Um, my son pays over $12,000 A YEAR in student loan interest so that is going to impact him big time. They are not thinking about the little guy but rather wall street - ONCE AGAIN

Um, my son pays over $12,000 A YEAR in student loan interest so that is going to impact him big time. They are not thinking about the little guy but rather wall street - ONCE AGAIN It's ridiculous, and as said even by Republicans it is not a plan at all. To propose something with no details and no idea of its effects is beyond comprehension for anyone seriously interested in his base of constituents, or anyone sane for that matter. The problem is, he's savvy enough to know that the majority of his actual base will just take it at face value. He knows it won't get passed, but then he can blame Congress and still his base will think he's a hero. As for the student loan debt, it's outrageous. I'm not like Bernie and a proponent of free tuition, but I do think we should have very low interest rates on student loans AND an option to pay off student loans through some sort of community service as opposed to financially, whether it's spending a few hours a week helping in a soup kitchen, teaching in a low income area, providing medical services in an area where they are lacking, etc. But, Tweety's kids and the kids of his buddies never needed a loan to go to college. They have no concept of how some, in fact most, people have to try and pay for their education.

I see your point, Joyce on the paid speeches. It's just that I hate to see all the severe critics trying to smear President Obama's name, AGAIN. And who knows, he's way more humble than current President, that he isn't out bragging about his charitable donations.

Please tell me I'm wrong, and I did not just see a headline that says Tweety is trying to blame Obama for not properly vetting Flynn!!

Excellent article, Linda! Thanks for sharing it. As for blaming Obama for Flynn, I'm going to have to pick my jaw up off the floor for that one because just when I thought Tweety couldn't do anything more to surprise or shock me he has proved me wrong. I am astounded! These people have no shame, and will clearly say ANYTHING! What's worse is that a high percentage of people out there will believe them even when they are quite obviously espousing a lie. I don't even know how to describe the phenomenon.

Have no problem with Obama taking money for these speeches. There is a major demand for people who can express thoughts in complete sentences, subject and verb.
