WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Happy Thanksgiving!
1879 calories, plus a lot of tasting during food prep 1031 exercise calories 109g protein 40g fiber 23/24 November
Oh my gosh, I struggled like crazy yesterday. I took way too many tastes while making the sides, especially the stuffing. I’m counting yesterday as a win, though. I probably added 300 extra calories with the BLT’s, but when I was done prepping I had a very light dinner and finished the day strong.
Lori, good decision to allow a full calorie dessert, then have a lightened version if you want more. I finished my crustless pumpkin pie last night. A quarter of the recipe is under 100 calories and seems like such a treat. I’ll be making it again next week.
Nancy, thank you. I’m very pleased with how November turned out. I’m also very pleased with how I look, and that’s motivation to continue strong, controlled eating throughout December. How great that Sherwin Williams gave you the samples! I made a command decision about something downstairs yesterday and DH told me twice what a good idea it was. Maybe we’ve turned a corner?
Kathy, welcome home. I hope you’re fully recovered from being sick.
Meg, I think the big takeaway lesson for me this Thanksgiving is to make our goals realistic. Enjoy what we really like, and skip the rest. Are you cooking, or is your daughter?

Happy Thanksgiving!! So grateful to all of you for your friendship, encouragement, wisdom, suggestions and support!
Jan, Smart to go with the lighter dinner. I did the same thing Monday when an unexpected pizza lunch appeared at work. Loving that it didn’t throw us off the course, we just adjusted! I think we made the same recipe (from pounddropper) I haven’t tasted it yet, but it looks great.
Enjoy the day!

C60. D15. OP. Tracking. Yoga everyday, some exercise (like vigorous housework!).
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
Nancy - I see something happened to reset your cycle count. Your remodeling projects sound wonderful!
Jan - Good job limiting the BLTs and enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner!
Meg - you are starting a new count too. Hope you are finding a path to healthy eating.
Lori - I'm making myself some pumpkin custard with my own made up 'recipe.' Pumpkin puree, lots of eggs (4?), FF Greek yogurt, Monkfruit sweetener, pumpkin pie spices, vanilla extract. Should be 0 points on My Personal Points.
Well - DH is crabby already. Sigh. I gave notice 2 months ago that I won't be making TG dinner. He's mad he doesn't have the roaster he wants.

Day 5. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Nancy: Thanks for your encouragement. And good job on indulging a little but staying in control. Re. paint: I hate making decisions, but in our current home, I've been happy every time I chose brighter colors - it really lifts my spirits. But I know each person is different.
Jan: Good recovery yesterday. And kudos to DH for affirming you! DD and I are both cooking. I made pies, cranberries, cornbread dressing, and will make the yam/apple/onion dish today. Crustless pumpkin pie recipe, please?
Lori: Enjoy the day.
Kathy: Maybe you can go out for sushi or Chinese food? ;-) Peace and rest.
Take care, all.

Jan - How well I understand "struggled like crazy" In more cases than not, I am losing the battle. Still under control and no where near binge vicinity, but forever drawn to those little snick snacks. Once they come to mind, I can't seem to "just say no".
Lori - Who's coming to dinner?
Kathy - D15!!! Wow!!! You're not alone. We're having Boston Market for dinner. I doubt you have one on the prairie. Are you feeling fully recovered? Let us know, please. That would be very good news.
Meg - How bright? I've got an endless number of colors to choose from but will probably end up with linen white or something. I'm about as boring as a person can get.

Nancy: My kitchen is lime/spring green, but the cabinets are white and the counter is black, so it all works. i.e. not too much green. The bathroom is turquoise with black and white tile floor and shiny red cabinets. Most of the rest of the house if a buttery color with white trim (that's how the place was when we bought it). But I wanted a couple of rooms that were me. Good luck! Linen white is beautiful and you'll like it for a long time.

DH pulled off a perfect TG dinner - all by himself! Turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, scalloped corn, stuffing, cranberries.
I had 1/4 cup of the sides and made my own mashed potatoes without butter and whole milk. I made my own 0 point pumpkin custard (tasted better than their pie, in my opinion).
I'm full, happy and entire day was 20 points!!
Nancy- I'm nearly recovered from the Awful Bug that went through our family. I tested negative for COVID, so know it wasn't that.
