WELCOME TO REGULAR & NEW POSTERS! This thread is full of encouragement & suggestions. New people, welcome! We encourage you to jump in. One day, one hour, one minute at a time is easier to handle than a week, etc. Lurkers, join in
Our goal is 21 days Binge Free (studies show 21 days to break old habits & start new ones!). Whether we make 21 or one, the point is to learn as we go, replace binges with other things to help us through stressful times. Some days are harder than others & we may slip; that's OK. The Binge Monster is in the shadows waiting to pounce. Hopefully this thread provides inspiration, courage, & support to become a Binge Survivor!
You may see different folks on different "Cycles." A Cycle is a 21 day block of consecutive binge-free days. Stay with us for as many cycles as you'd like.Everyone's definition of a BINGE is different. The Oxford Dictionary defines a binge as a spree of eating and drinking. To many of us, BINGE is defined as "eating without dignity." The dictionary defines "dignity" as a calm and serious manner or style, showing suitable formality or indicating that one deserves respect. Only you can define what a binge is for you. Going over points, as long as it was done with dignity and journaled (thereforeacknowledged and "owned") isn't binging--it is up to you to decide.
SPECIAL THANKS TO LESLIE5609 for starting this challenge on the Out of Control Board, in August '02, and thanks to all who keep it going.

Yesterday started as planned but ended over doing the desserts. I had a delicious pastry and a slice of my light pumpkin pie but picked at the chocolate and nuts on the table and had several taste of the other desserts...when I got home, could not fall asleep and gave into soft roll with b&b. Today woke up with laryngitis - guess I was talking too much...lol We also got news that my nephewβs baby girl arrived early - Juliette Rose 6lb 10 oz, all doing well! Today All healthy eating especially since tomorrow I have a baby shower brunch for another relative....
Hope everyone enjoyed their day....

Good morning, all. We had a fun Thanksgiving meal and I'm grateful for our family time. I mostly did not follow my plan at dinner yesterday - indulged in everything except mashed potatoes, and had seconds. I couldn't even track it. So I'm starting at Day 1 today with a plan to eat some delicious leftovers but not to overdo.
Lori: Thanks for starting us. We were supposed to only have pumpkin and apple pie and I had one slice of pumpkin planned, but then there was also homemade chocolate cheesecake. Yowza.
Kathy: DH for the win, and kudos to you for modifying your food choices and having a great on-plan day.
Nancy: Re. paint colors, forgot to say I have one more room that's unique: the family room has taupe walls, white trim, and one red accent wall. I love it.
Peace to all.

It's turning into major pigouts and I just don't care. One more day tomorrow. Steve, Grace and I are going to a diner for lunch and I'm planning on a grilled cheese sandwich with fries and bread pudding. They'll still be here Sunday but Grace will be using the car so no reason why I can't start. That gives me 30 days to take off any new weight until the last possible December official weigh in. The only exception is lunch out with friends on December 10th. I'll aim for 1200 calories per day with mentally counting points based on the old program. I'm ready.
Lori - What lovely news about Juliette Rose. The family is growing!
Kathy - KUDOS on D16 despite the holiday. I am impressed.
Meg - Had to laugh at indulgences. The best laid plans.... <gg> You are definitely more adventurous with paint than I.
