So I get up this morning and go around opening the blinds dreading going into the kitchen as I was afraid to see a mouse on the glue strip but also afraid I wonât see one. I know it sounds crazy but that was what was going through my mind. I look to the left counter and kind of breathe a sigh of relief and then to the right and there it was! Never did hear a squeak but I think I did let out some kind of noise and left the kitchen! Dogs were very confused as why hadnât I opened the door to let them out? Fred heard me and got out of bed asking what was wrong. One look at my face and he said we caught one didnât we. I said yep and when I looked at it again it was still alive! So Fred said wait a minute and went outside and got one of his outdoor buckets, filled it with water from the outdoor tap and got the glue strip and took it outside and dumped it in the water drowning it. That glue stick was so sticky his glove got stuck and he had a hard time getting it off. That was when he realized in his haste to get it out of the house he had grabbed his brand new pair of gloves! I said donât worry about it as we can get you a new pair! I hope that was the last one but now wonder if I should move the one from the other counter and put it where we caught this one. Fred wants to wait and see if we get anymore. If not then we will move one to that spot.
My haircut yesterday turned out really nice. It was just a trim but for some reason this time it turned out better than the last time. We have another Bradley game this afternoon and itâs a non-conference game so will probably be boring but itâs something to get out of the house and supposed to be a nice day so should be good to walk from where we park to the civic center where our home games are held.

Good Morning!
It was foggy again this morning but didn't stay around as long.
Looking forward to our book club's Downton Abbey Christmas Tea at the Tilted Teacup tonight in Brooksville. We are dressing up Downton Abbey style and having a white elephant gift exchange. I have been to the Tilted Teacup before and there food and tea is delicious with generous sized portions.
Sandy, How nice to have a good haircut right before the holidays. I was not thrilled with my last haircut but it is growing out nicely.

Good morning
Ah bread pudding brings a good memory. When I first met Don and learned he cooked I asked could he make bread pudding and he made a huge pan of it for me.
The concert at the clubhouse was surprisingly good. The singerâs name was Eddie Michaels. Before each song he gave a bit of history about the singer and did songs from the 50s and 60s . It was 90 minutes of that and I knew every song and often knew what singer before he revealed the name. He was quite entertaining. Today is a craft show by people living here and no outsiders. I should go but I really donât want to buy anything.

Sandy your mouse story reminds me of something that happened to me many many years ago in Chicago. I was in my mid twenties and living in a 1920s brownstone. I was on the second floor and directly below me was a little hole in the wall restaurant.
One very cold winter I started having problems with... I would say they were more rats than mice. Very scary.
One night I decided to wash my hair in beer which I heard was very good for your hair. I left it in my hair thinking I would rinse it out in the morning. That night I went to bed and heard this horrible noise coming from my bathroom in the middle of the night. I turned on the light to see this enormous rat in my tub and he couldn't get out... thank heavens I suppose!
Because it was the middle of the night I couldn't call the janitor of the building so I called 911.
Two of Chicago's finest showed up and I completely forgot that my hair was all dried like wood sticking out for my head from the beer. I must have smelled like a brewery.
I showed the cops into my bathroom and they said yep rat... He started to fill up the tub to drown it. They asked me if I had a newspaper I suppose to take the carcass away. At that time I subscribed to both the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times and I asked him what he preferred because the two paper sizes were completely different.
He looked at me... probably thought I was drunk off my ass... smiled and said lady I think he's a Sun-Times reader.
True story. But they killed the rat and took it away which is all that really mattered to me!

Yay for that mouse victory, Sandy! Enjoy being outside today.
That recipe looks delicious, Ruth. Thank you. I haven't had French Toast in ages. I have to try it. Post a photo of your get-up for the Downton Abbey Tea, if you can. Such fun to dress up.
Sounds like you had a lovely evening, Jane. I love seeing what my neighbors make. You could go and not buy...
I am off to the opera today. I'll BBL. Enjoy your Saturday all.

Just saw your post, Shragae. Laughing so out loud my cat is looking at me like I am nuts. Funniest thing I've read in ages. You should submit it to Reader's Digest or your local newspaper.

Sort of a gloomy day here this afternoon, morning was sunny and I got a good walk in. In low 40âs and ground is still dry on December 4th but a raw feel to the air. Maybe 50âs Sunday but cooler temps the coming week. I did go for blood donation yesterday but she said my iron level is a bit low 12.3 apparently has to be 12.5 to donate. First time that has happened so am on 14 day deferral. Guess I will be having oatmeal for several days. Donât mind eating raw spinach but it doesnât keep very long and donât care for cooked spinach by itself. Dad loved it. I have been eating to much garbage lately so best get things back in order it is winter and not as much exercise.
Will see if I can get Steven in Thursday for his driverâs license renewal. Have to have appointment here, will get car license renewal tags at same time if possible if not I can always get those through mail. The two pickups wonât cost much just our Trax is over $200.00.
Yes Shargae would much rather have a mouse in house, rats are very creepy. A funny story, probably not for you in the moment. đđđ. Glad you caught your mouse Sandy.
Glad you enjoyed your show Jane. Steven listens to a lot of 50âs & 60âs music on XM radio on TV.
I sent Shayna, Leland, Draven & Kaesen a card at Thanksgiving time. Mailed about a week ahead. Drav/Kaesen got theirs for Thanksgiving. Got a message for from Leland today that he just got his. Thanked me for sending it. I mentioned that guess I should mail things earlier. He chuckled and said no they hadnât checked their mail. Still no word from Shayna either as this younger bunch pay no attention to mail in a mailbox. I know if I send something important to give them a heads up and keep checking with until they get it.
Waving to everyone

Ruth, how cute! You look amazing! Perfect for the tea!
Had to post quickly as DGD stopped in now. DS just left after a wonderful visit. I actually had a slice of pizza and glass of wine and feel okay. Exciting!

Hello all. Ruth your dress is perfect! Hope youâre having a blast.
Busy day here. Shopped at a kohlâs with friend. Don worked hard yesterday and today to put together the bookcase and the desk. So I made him his fav buttermilk pancakes.
