I'm IN.
Sending good thoughts for your peaceful and joyful day, no matter how you spend it...
KressMess Eve was joyful and messy and Kress-y - just the way it should be!
Toots is still sawin' wood although he did open one eye to express disbelief that I am up and at'em already.
We are heading for Longwood Gardens, for noon, to view their Christmas display.

Ho, Ho, Ho, Merry Christmas! I'm up early, I'm always excited on Christmas morning! I'll be cooking breakfast here in a few minutes. DD and her family will be here around 8 and will spend the day. Prime rib will go into the oven later this morning. It's going to be a great day.

Good morning diva49 and linda72 ....Merry Christmas! I made the drive to church (found parking!) and loved the service. I knew there was no telling when J would drag in after two more services (I was right!) so watched some DVR, rode the indoor bike, and just piddled. Two quiet days have restored me nicely (which is good, as I'm driving to Salem tomorrow...) J and I are meeting after church for lunch at a favorite restaurant, then will have our celebration and gifts later. Princess Leia handled being *Home Alone* without a problem, but I wasn't ready to take off for a long period yet. I'm going to decorate our mantle this AM to make things a bit more festive. I'm so glad J is about to have some down time; I know I've pushed myself too much this Fall, and no doubt about him. Find some joy somewhere besides a plate today, LOL! Merry Christmas πππ€Άπ» (Great new photo, MJ!)

Good morning dearies, diva49 Enjoy Longwood Gardens! It's about an hour and a half away. linda72 Read your post quickly and thought you were having prime rib for breakfast...!! ksbruns Sounds like you are getting settled in ( I must go back and reread the last 3 days posts!) It's been a very hectic, very stressful, and mostly sad few days leading up until Christmas. With 2 holiday concerts with the grandchildren worked in between my friend's memorial service and then my sister-in-law's viewing and funeral, I had to "let-go" of many of the last minute Christmas 'must-do's'. A few decorations never made it up, some shopping didn't get done, not all the cookies got baked, and there still are some gifts to be wrapped today. Friday was exhausting...we left the house at 8 am and didn't return until 5 pm. The distances between funeral home, church and cemetery and reception were long and holiday shopping made traffic unbelievable! But we managed to get through the day with so many hugs. Thank you for all the good wishes. Christmas Eve was spent with my younger son and family, they eat here, exchange gifts and then we all go to their church. My granddaughter sang a duet of 'Silent Night'. Tears of joy! It now feels like Christmas. Today we will have dinner with my other son's family. Time to wake up Mr. Snorer... he wants to go to IHOP for breakfast ! May you all have a happy, gentle day and be good to yourselves! We must take each day moment by moment and enjoy what we can. I'm eating the Christmas cookies---will track again next week!!

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and happy holidays to all who celebrate.
It snowed lightly last night but not like what was predicted. There is a very light snow now too, and a little breeze, but later today may be a whole different story. We are still under a blizzard warning consisting of snow, strong winds, and blowing and drifting snow for today and tonight and into tomorrow.
My son will be coming later this morning and hopefully the strong winds will not be blowing until he gets here. My grandson will not be coming, as he has to work tomorrow and none of us including him want him to be trying to drive in blizzard conditions. We'll try for Christmas on New Year's.
Right now I'm sitting here with all the Christmas lights on, drinking a cup of coffee with a shot of Kahlua in it and cream. I'm going to have a second one too, either before or after breakfast. DH and I used to have that on Sunday mornings, but I haven't done it in years.
Wishing everyone a blessed, peaceful and happy day with family and friends.

Beauty candle light service last night, a ggod night's sleep , and heading over to my spend the day with mom and my sisters and families. All five of us are now in town as my sister from CA flew in yesterday. Spending the day together will be fun. We're taking brunch over for and then we'll have a variety of soups and sandwiches late this afternoon. Sounds like a great day full of family and conversation. Wishing everyone a peaceful day full of reasons to smile.
