Good afternoon once again Ladies. It's a bright and sunny day here. It did snow in the night but on the roadways it;s all melted already. I was up late watching the olympics so slept in and well that's not unusual for me. I have to start getting up earlier. I did crochet some also and this baby onsie is just so cute. I made one as the onsie or romper, as they used to be called, and one as a top.I still have the edging to do on the romper one. I have a few household chores to do today so better get on it.
Deb, thanks for taking care of the board. You and Rad do a great job and keeping things peaceful

I had to come back and post this. I was sitting here in front of my large window that overlooks the open space back to the mountain and all of a sudden there was a small herd of six beautiful mule deer. There were 2 females, one young male and three of what must have been older males because they had larger antlers. One had the antlers on one side missing and was walking funny. In the summer they eat my flowers and plants but that's ok. I love them anyway. Thank you Lord for this beautiful view of your handiwork! Seeing these beautiful animals really makes my day.

Hello Ginny - Those fabric colors are pretty, I look forward to seeing your quilt when it's done. Hope you were able to finish the binding. Ruth - Hope you are able to get your household chores done and I'm glad you enjoyed seeing the mule deer, I'm sure that was a beautiful site with the mountain in the background. It's cold here today (well, it's in the 30s and that's cold for us), but sunny. I have the blinds open wide to get in the afternoon sun since one side of my house with the most windows faces west. The furnace is still doing it's "thing" I finished up some of those strip blocks in my Red fabrics, which was the color for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge in January. And I have the February Teal/Aqua strips ready to piece. I do like the block I've made that just has all red fabrics (without any prints), and I'll make a teal/aqua one like that. But I'm not sure if I'll use all the strips going forward. I ended up with 4 red blocks - 12x12. A few of them are just "meh" to me, so I'm not sure I want to waste my time cutting these strips each month for more than one block. Then I have to be brave and just throw out what I haven't used My goal over the last few years was to use up these scraps and smaller pieces of fabric and I've done pretty well. If I keep this up I should just have 2.5 inch squares and strips, and then larger pieces of fabric that I think I'm going to add into my fat quarter area. Going forward I just won't save anything that isn't at least 2.5 inches wide/long. I enjoyed watching the figure skating last night and hope to watch it again tonight. Take care everyone

CJ- sounds like you have a wonderful action plan to downsize your fabric stash to what you will use.. Bravo!!! (And then you can come to my house and help me organize my fabric, ha ha ha). Teal and aqua is such a stunning color combination! My mom loved teal/turquoise, and in honor of her I found some really pretty kitchen towels for my DD’s to brighten their all white kitchens which are so colorless. Looking forward to seeing those blocks- even the “meh” ones. (Who ever invented the word “meh? Its so descriptive!). Ok so optimistically the furnace doing its thing means its at least making some heat, i hope!!!!! Looks like we both have some warmer temps for at least a few days. Good for our heating bills and also if you have to go out, its easier when its not so cold.
Yes I have watched the luge and some ski jumping….and I forget what comes on in a half hour but will watch that. Winter Olympics are so much fun to watch.
Ruth, sounds like you got a special treat from the Lord - being able to see those mule deer. I am very glad that made your day!!! A bright sunny day is a good thing also, hope it was not too cold. Its hard to get up early for some people, if you have no specific reason to be up early. Some folks are naturally morning people (My DH was). I tend to be a night owl, but from years of Dh being a morning person, kids and a school bus driver, well my body clock has shifted. I revert back to night owl status in summer, sort of. Sounds like you got plenty of crocheting done and the romper sounds adorable. Good to hear that your snow has melted.
DD#2 and DSIL stopped over unexpectedly, so I got the binding wonder clipped but not sewn. Not sure when I will get to sew it, and as late as it is in the day and as I went to sleep so late…I just do not think its a good idea to work on the machine right now.
And tomorrow is Monday. See ya in the morning! Ginny
