Ruth, I think the issue with the refund might have been my tax preparer, who said that they corrected the problem on my return and did not. (Which is why they are offering to refund my tax preparation fees). It’s unclear whose problem it is right now, all I want is my refund. It will be interesting to see what happens to my state return and refund. It will be interesting for sure. So I think what happened with your doctor is he/she probably handles all those requests together so there is less disruption. I know its so frustrating…. And I agree this whole insistence in PT seems to be taking over everything….and the constraints they put on PT is absurd. I am not a doctor but am unsure that PT would help all that much with arthritis.
So sorry that the bilbocatches are so rough on your hands…but will be worth it when you see how much the family enjoys them!
Worked a bit longer than anticipated. The one driver needs help with parallel parking and backing up. Otherwise she should be fine. Will be working with her tomorrow and hopefully all the problems will be solved.
No crafting today, at least not yet. See ya later! Ginny

Yes they usually call at the end of the day or first thing in the morning and didn't call back today so It will be morning maybe.
Well it's great that they're refunding your tax preparation fees since they made a mistake. And parallel parking...that gives me a panic attack. I haven't had to parrallel park in over 30 years and would sure never be able to parralel park a bus!! I hope you can get in some crafting time or some other enjoyable activity if you'd rather.
CJ, I hope you had a great day also
I spent much of the day helping dh with some things and am about to start crocheting.

A long week is over!!! The past two days have been long, I have worked hard with a trainee who was challenged with backing a school bus and parallel parking. Think I was successful at getting her to be able to do both today. She is not perfect nor is she a natural at either task but she can get the job done. Her road test is next Tuesday. I hope she passes.
It got pretty warm today- but there is a change in weather coming and I think we are getting cooler temps.
At some point today I will get come crafting done- and hope to work on the PMQ blocks, getting them done for this month. The next installment should be shipped in 2 weeks. Where does time go?
My plumbing skills got a workout too. Had to change a toilet flapper- which is surely not a challenging job, just something I have not done in awhile.
BBL to see who has checked in GInny

Hello Hope you are doing well today. We had a cloudy day here yesterday but it's sunny today and around 60. We're going to get some colder weather by Sunday. I had to have a plumber come to the house today to replace and then install a new sump pump. It started running continuously yesterday so I had to unplug it, but at least it was still pumping the water out when I plugged it in. I'm glad I was able to get it done before the heavier spring and summer rain. I haven't done much quilting, but I did spend some time figuring out how to proceed with the floral version of the Sweet Dreams quilt. I'm going to make 6 sawtooth stars to use for some of the 14 outer border blocks. I made a test one and I liked it. Now I want to go ahead the other 5 star blocks and make the large corner triangles and cut the fabric for the sashing. Then I can see how much fabric I have left for the 8 blocks left to make. I hope I'm finally settled on this quilt, I feel like I've spent too much time on it I've just been worried about the original fabric running out, since I wasn't able to find any other fabrics in my stash that match very well - except for the red fabric. I used some matching red fabric for the background on the star blocks. Hopefully I can get to some of this (or all of it) this weekend, since there are other projects I'd rather be working on. I hope you're having good weather and getting to do some crafting. Take care

It sounds like you both had some plumbing issues. It sounds like the toilet flapper was less extensive than replacing a sump pump but plumbing never seems easy.I hope everything turned out great for both of you. Dh replaced our toilet flapper a few months ago and has adjusted it several times and it still doen't work the way it should but it does work.
CJ, it sounds like you have a good plan for the floral quilt. I hope you have enough fabric.
Ginny, it sure sounds like you had two busy days and a busy week also. I hope you can relax a lot this weekend
No we didn't hear a thing from the doctor's office so it will be at least Monday
I worked on my wrap last evening and this evening I plan to finish the balls and strings on the last bilbocatches. There is also a stuffed sea turtle I want to make for the youngest 3 grands.I made another apple pie today, did a few other things and am ready to sit and relax

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well today It's in the 40s here today and we've had some sun, then a shower, then some sun and it's a bit breezy. I got all the outside border pieces, the 4 large half square triangles and the 6 sawtooth stars made for the floral version of Sweet Dreams. Now I just have to figure out which blocks and fabrics to use for the 8 remaining blocks (which you can see are the large white squares - two at the top, bottom and both sides. I'm sharing a picture so I can get an idea of which fabrics to use in which blocks. It helps when I see the picture close up on my kindle. I used a different red fabric in the star blocks, can you tell? I think it blends pretty well. When you look at this quilt, what is the predominant fabric/color you see - floral, red, other? Here are a few things I'm thinking about for these 8 blocks: - Need to use peach/coral fabric in the four blocks on the sides to pull some of that color over there to balance the top and bottom use of peach/coral in the strips.
- Maybe using all floral as the background fabric for the rest of the blocks, or at least for the 4 on the sides.
- I think using peach/coral in the blocks at the top and bottom might be too much - maybe just use red/gray/cream or floral in those.I'd love to hear your thoughts, but hope you won't be offended if I end up doing my own thing I'm so glad to move on to the lighthouse version now - I'm tired of these floral fabrics (never thought I'd say that ). Hope you all get to do some crafting today. Take care Sorry it's not the best photograph, this quilt is going to be large! The 4 corners are red/cream in case you can't see the cream too well.

Today it's 70 here and is supposed to be tomorrow too then it will cool back down. I wouldn't mind if it stayed like this until about November.
CJ, I didn't notice that the reds were different until I enlarged the picture. You're right though, they work. Otherwise, not being a quilter I'm not sure of what you're asking but I love that quilt the way it is. If it's the blocks you have lying there on the top and bottom that you are askig about,, I think they work fine and I'm not sure of what blocks you mean to add to the sides...Do you mean they aren't in this picture?
This morning my crafting was sewing buttons and hooks and eyes on the doll clothes I've made so far and weaved in some ends on other projects.

Hi Ruth - Hope you are enjoying the warm weather Thanks for your comments. I'm glad the two red fabrics are blending when you see them. I'm sorry I didn't explain that well. There are still 7 more block patterns that go with this quilt along. Where you see the two large white squares at the top, bottom and on both sides is where I'll be making a block (kind of like the ones in the center) to place in that blank space. So I still have to make 8 quilt blocks to go in those blank spaces. I've decided I'm going to hold off for a few weeks and see what the patterns for the next blocks look like before I make any decisions on what colors/fabrics to use in them.

Good evening…..
CJ- you are gonna laugh when you read this, but you know which fabric really sticks out to me? The peach fabric. I think that is because the red seems to dominate the floral (which I think is very pretty) and although in the floral the peach is evident, you do not see that until closer observation. I will agree with you that more peach is needed in the top, bottom and sides, to balance things a bit. I did notice fairly quickly that there was a different red fabric but I was looking for it also. The new red blends perfectly with the other red, so its a great fabric to add. Not only that but the tonal print of the red fabric adds some interest to the quilt. I really like it, and it was a good fabric choice. Sorry that you had sump issues, but as you said, better that it happen now then when you are experiencing heavy rains. I bet that was not an inexpensive visit from the plumber. they never are cheap.
Ruth, well finishing off doll clothing is crafting, that is for sure. Adding hooks and eyes and buttons sure is tiny work too, and I bet you are glad that you finished that. Gee you have been making a lot of apple pies. How nice that you had some spring temperatures to enjoy! Have you made good progress on your wrap? What color are you making it? I hope that you are making it a color that makes you feel happy and snug.
I did finish the blocks for this months PMQ just a little while ago. I need to iron the blocks and trim them but they are done. Now I can get back to cutting batting for the quilt as you go quilt. Dd #2 and DGS#3 came over for a few hours. We sat in the family room with the stove going….it heats the room so nicely, and considering its going to be cold for the next few days, I am glad its there. I got some cleaning done today also. I am getting a cold and am feeling a bit drained. A somewhat quiet day at home was good for me, although I did get a fair amount of housework done also. And I am starting to move things outside- getting ready for outside living. Its too soon to do much outside, but I can start putting snow shovels away and stuff like that.
Hope everyone has a good evening. Ginny

Hi Ginny - I'm sorry to hear you are getting a cold, I hope you can get over it soon. I'm glad you and your family are enjoying the stove in your family room I hope you'll post a picture of your PMQ blocks, I'd love to see them. Thanks for your input on my quilt and confirming my thoughts on the peach/coral fabric. I loved that fabric and was so happy to get to use it, I wish I had more of it but I bought it about 12 years ago, so I know it's no longer available. And I'm happy with you seeing that color when you look at my quilt I had a burst of energy, and also I just want to put these Sweet Dreams quilts away for a bit, so I went ahead and cut the pieces for the outside border for the lighthouse version and I also made the 4 large half square triangles. I think these might be the biggest ones I've ever made I also cut the lighthouse panel apart, but I still need to trim the blocks down to size. I'm attached a copy of the quilt laid out and also a closeup of one of the empty blocks where I'll need to make one of Pat Sloan's patterns (I'll have to make 6 blocks for this quilt) where I've put the 3 fabrics that I think I might make these 6 blocks with - light blue, red, and cream/tan. I was thinking that making these other 6 blocks a bit more subdued will work better because the lighthouse blocks are so busy/bold. I may move the lighthouse blocks around later, nothing is sewn together yet. I'll put both of these Sweet Dreams quilts aside for right now and see how I like the quilt block patterns that Pat Sloan sends out over the next few weeks before I make any of them. Now tomorrow if I feel like it, I can work on something else - yeah! I may try to machine quilt the flip flop table runner I'm making for my niece. I'm just doing straight line diagonal quilting, so it should be very quick. Thanks again and have a good evening

CJ- does your cable company have access to Fons and Porter quilting show on the Create Channel? I have only viewed one episode (got 2 or 3 others recorded). They have great ideas and the one episode I viewed had great tips on quilting with a home machine. You do great work anyway, but its always nice to see what others are doing and as professionals sometimes they have great tips. So do you have more of that peach fabric? I know you will figure out something on how you want to finish that quilt, and I am sure you will chose well. Think its a great idea to let both quilts rest….bet if you leave them alone for a few days/weeks and then come back, you will be better inspired on how to best finish them to your taste. I like the use of the medium blue on the border of the light house quilt. Similar to the peach, my eye wants to see a little bit more of that fabric in the border, so I do like the possible plan you have suggested in your post. Have fun today with the diagonal quilting.
Slept pretty well last night and my cold is stable and does not seem worse. I have a blueberry bush, (a variety which can be grown in pots) which is in the house with my other larger plants (which go outside when it is safe to do so). Well….its blooming and I guess I better to pollinate it as there are no bees in my house! One blossom is open already…will pull the plant out later on to see if I can find another open blossom or if I need to wait until the other blossoms (there are several) are open.

Duh….will post pics of the PMQ blocks when they are trimmed and pressed….as I have been on the fly getting them done I have not been keeping up with trimming them and pressing. They will look better when they are treated as they should be!

I tried to post to your message yesterday CJ but it wouldn't go through. What I said was that your explanation was fine, it's just that since I'm not a quilter (or maybe just not observant enough) I didn't realize the quilt was on a sheet and that those white areas were just the part of the sheet that was showing. Anyway. I do really like those blocks at the top and bottom with the peach color.
Ginny, you asked about the wrap. Well I used Red Heart Comfort yarn which felt amazingly soft on the skein but now that it's made into something it doesn't feel so soft."They" claim that after RHSS is washed it becomes soft so maybe this yarn does too. I'm thinking of starting another and maybe using Red Heart Hygge. The colors are strange in that yarn but it stays soft and feels more comforting. The pattern I'm using is for a prayer shawl and is called "Say a little prayer"
Well we're coming to the end of the month and there are still a couple things I need to finish to meet my goals for this month. Gotta get busy on those. One of the things I want to do is put that Yoda together that I started months ago. I have all the larger pieces done. Still have to do some very small pieces and put it together. I also can't seem to find the water bottle carrier that I made for dgd for the water bottle I bought her so did one yesterday and just have to sew on handle.I have three family members who's gifts I need to wrap and will do that today.
