Welcome to our 2016 Alcohol Free All The Way Board!
If you have been struggling with your weight and have found this board, you undoubtedly have your own unique, complicated relationship with alcohol and food. Laying out the problem honestly can give you the extra push you need to succeed in getting it under control. A few questions for you to think about...do you wake up at 3 AM wondering what did you do? Do you sometimes have no recall of the evening before or do you try to recover your memory of the evening before you even get out of bed? Is your spouse angry with you? Or do you simply think that A is taking over too much of your life, affecting your weight loss? Did you finish the bag of chips? cookies? or just spend the evening grazing? These are hard questions but know that you will find understanding, love, encouragement and support on this thread. We are each in a different stage of this journey but you will find others have shared your experiences. There is no judgment, just an acknowledgment that we have been there, done that and know we need and get the support from this great group of women and men.
Whether you are choosing to be AF or find you can achieve AIM (maximum of one drink per day for women and maximum of two drinks per day for men), please join us if you feel this challenge meets your needs.

NEW CHALLENGE! November 1 - December 31
CHRISTMAS DREAMS CAN COME TRUE!
Did you know? 24 days until Thanksgiving, 25 days until Black Friday, 28 days until Cyber Monday, 54 days until Christmas Eve AND 55 days until Christmas Day! HO HO HO!! So make your Christmas dreams come true and get on the AF wagon! You have over 8 weeks to make changes in your life that will bring you into 2017 feeling great!
Ever drink, and still feel lousy? Ever drink, and say, not enough buzz? Ever drink and say one more has got to make it better or at least make me not care? Ever drink and ask yourself, what am I doing? Why do I want to poison myself? How does this possibly help me? The problems will still be there the next day. Then do you find yourself repeating the pattern knowing the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and yet expecting a different result. Ah, but you know better….HAH!
Being AF isn't easy, no one said it would be and if it was easy, there would be no need for this board and this wonderfully supportive group. Are you in an emotional war when it comes to alcohol? Declare a truce and determine that it isn't helping you, in fact it may be causing you problems. Can you decide to be alcohol free for the challenge? Can you determine if you need a plan for a detour, not necessarily to take it but to plan so it isn't a free fall into AIE? Have the holidays always been a reason to drink? Do you think you can enjoy the holidays without alcohol? Or do you get through the holidays by drinking? During the challenge the primary goal is to abstain from alcohol. There may be holiday dinner you wish to plan an AIM, repeat AIM, detour. However please remember if AIM becomes a relapse....we still want you back! Don't berate yourself. Come back to the board, 'fess up and get back on track. We are here to be supportive of each other in reaching our goals.
So if your Christmas Dreams are to be AF and feel physically, mentally and spiritually healthier, please join us for the challenge and make your dreams come true. New friends are welcome to join at any stage of the challenge.

I'm glad I'm off today. I feel like I could go right back to bed. The boys leave tomorrow (

Morning all! I sure am rethinking the decision to work today! LOL I did not want to roll out of bed this morning for sure! We had a great time at my sister's last night. Lots of yummy food but I didn't overdo. I am planning to do a clean out in my fridge when I get home from work today. I'm ready for all the leftovers to be GONE!
Amy - loved the QOTD and the pic of the double rainbow! Both were very inspiring!
GG - I'm so proud of you for sticking with your plan of being AF! Yay for tracking the crackers!
Carole - Glad you are loving your Keurig! And I'm sure glad that DS wasn't feeling too awful for Christmas!
Jan - hope you can have some time off from work now.
Cindy - Wishing you all the best girl! How did DS do with the gf over Christmas? Did he stick to his guns on not having her visit?
My fibro is still really messing me up. My right leg aches so much that I don't want to move. But it aches when I'm sitting still so that's not really helping either! I still have the appointment with the neurologist on Weds about the trembling. Probably nothing but I'll go get it checked out since I've met my deductible!
Hope everyone has a great day! Murphy

Good Morning friends, We had a very nice day yesterday, so good to just be home. We had dinner with just DS here and then the GF friend came over later. When we went to make dinner, found we had no veggies in the house, well, canned corn, but DH totally spaced on getting any groceries while I was working. He was sure a store would be open but everything was closed. It all turned out fine but I laughed because I had told him to pick up the roast and that's all he bought, all black and white with him. DS goes back today, sad face like Amy's, and I have to work 11 - 7:30. This week and next they still have me full time hours, then they promise back to 20ish a week. At least next week it is all days, so home for dinners. Need to get back to my projects and knitting! Have a great week all. Amy The beach walk sounds wonderful as usual. Glad you get to have the day off. I'm off Wed and THurs and will probably take the tree down. It's already losing lots of needles and I work both days next weekend when I would usually take it down. Hope you and the boys get to do something fun today. Barb Sorry about the fibro. Good that you are still seeing the Dr. I need to go through the fridge too, it's kind of a mess since I haven't been home for dinner much, not stocked with many healthy choices. Same with the pantry, DH has chips, cheetos, chocolate in there. Need to purge! GG Have fun with the kids. I was not AF yesterday, GF brought us a bottle wine from her parents, not an excuse but I guess I made it one! Back on track today, so glad you aren't feeling any cravings. Carole Yay for DS feeling better so you could go visit. Glad you got a present you love and will use When do you have to go back to work? DH bought me a new camera, complete surprise but I love it. Most all our other gifts are practical house things. I did get some nice yarn and needles too Cindy Hope you had a nice day. Was it just you and DS? How is your finger doing? Was it anything they could have stitched up? We got rid of our mandoline, scared me to use it! Liz Your holiday photos looked great. Hope everyone enjoyed their day and of course your cooking!! Now relax before you have to go back to work!! Hi Helen and any lurkers.... and so happy Kim made it home for Christmas!!!
