Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

Could not help but notice that next Sunday is Easter.. Of course I knew that but the reality hit me as I started the thread up for today. Not sure what I will do today. I have some chores I want to get done here, and some errands to run. Gotta check the weather and see what inspires me today.

Hello Ruth - I'm glad you were able to work on your blanket. Ginny - What is your family doing for Easter? Will you have it at your house, or at one of your DD's houses? For that Moda fabric I'm just going to use what I have and see how far it goes for this quilt along. If I get near the end and run out, I'll try to match it up at that time. It's a off-white (with a yellow tint), so I should be able to find something. I went out this morning to get some groceries and run some errands, so I probably won't do any quilting today. I did pull out my pink (the RSC color for April) scraps yesterday so I can pick what I want to use for my quilt blocks this month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I hope I can get those figured out soon and finished since I have some fun projects I want to work on. The weather here is nice today, in the 60s and sunny. Hope your weather is nice and that you get to do some crafting. Take care

well here we are in yet another new week. I'm sure we're all thankful for that
Ginny, I hope you're able to take care of your errands and the weather cooperates
CJ I know you'll be able to get your quilt done even if you do run of of the fabric that's recommended because you're very creative and able to improvise
I didn't work on my throw last evening after all. It didn't seen like a crochet evening.

Ruth - some days its is just not a good day to craft. I am having one myself! Hope that you are having good weather, which makes just about anything more pleasant.
CJ-I do hope that you can go far with the fabric you have, and that you do not have to substitute in much. It does sound as though it will not be too hard to replace that fabric. The rainbow scrap challenge sounds like it is inspiring you to get back to quilting. Of course that is a good thing.
No crafting for me. I found someone to do some repairs on my junker car. (Yay!!!). Painted one wall of the shed and my big accomplishment was to get the silicone removed from my shower (what a miserable job!!!) and sand the paint in the other bathroom. I hope to paint the bathroom in a day or so and put the silicone back tomorrow. This shower is small, so its a cramped space, challenging for me to twist and turn in there. (Thus resulting, I am achy). Got a lot to do tomorrow- most of it home stuff. I hope that I can get that silicone sealant in the shower tomorrow. I can see that it looks so much better to have the old sealant cleaned out. Tomorrow I am also heading up to the quilt shop with Jane, which means that somehow I will get some crafting time in!!!
Have a good night Ginny

Raining here….but I already dropped the clunker car off for repairs and walked back (a mile). Now got some computer issues to attend to which will most likely take up the morning.

Well my excursion to the fabric store was successful…if you can call it that. I did get the thread that I needed to finish the QAYG- for when I get to that point. They now sell 3 yard bundles, and I saw one in blues that I really liked, so I bought that to make one of those 3 yard quilt patterns from Fabric Cafe (I already own the pattern). Jane bought a beautiful table runner kit to make for her daughter. Good time with Jane, it always is.
Now the weather is fairly nice and in the low 70’s. A very nice spring day.

Ginny. I'm glad you found someone to repair your other car. It's nice when there's a spare car, just in case. And it sounds like you have a lot planned for this week. You do keep busy.
Had some car probems yesterday but they SEEM to have ironed th;emselves out...Ok that's not true...I prayed a lot. So tomorrow when I have to go out again hopefully it will be ok.
I'm planning on crocheting this evening. When I said I used almost the whole cake of Mandala yarn several days ago I was wrong. There was more than I though left but I've now finished that one and will start the second cake this evening.

Hello Ginny - I'm glad you found someone to work on your car and also that you found some things to buy at the quilt shop. Ruth - I hope that your car problems are over and that everything will be fine tomorrow. Sue - Hope you are well. It was sunny and in the 70s here today, nice day even though I only went outside to get the mail I was able to get all the fabrics cut for the blocks I need to do for the monthly Rainbow Scrap Challenge and Secret Lives of Color quilt along, there are 17 blocks I need to make. But at least they are all ready to start piecing, which I'm sure will be quicker than all the cutting And most of these blocks are very easy to put together. I need to get these done first before I work on the two new block patterns that come out tomorrow - one for Sweet Dreams and the other for Moda Blockheads. Hopefully I can get all of these caught up by the end of the weekend. I'll still have to sort out the rest of my pink scraps. I had a lot of this color, so it will take a little bit of time. Sometimes I want to quit doing this, but it is really feels satisfying when I've finished all the scrap "stuff" each month, so I'll keep working at it. Take care and have a good evening

Hello Hope everyone is doing well today. It's a warm day, in the low 80s, breezy and partly sunny. I'm not ready for 80s weather yet I finished making all the "pink" blocks today, so I'm ready to work on the Blockheads and Sweet Dreams quilt blocks. The patterns came out today and I've already decided on my fabric choices, just need to get the pieces all cut out so I can put the blocks together. I also made my two monthly Secret Lives of Color blocks, it was just a coincidence that the color this month in the book is April I was happy with my "pink" blocks, I like pink fabric, so it was fun to work with. I'll put some pictures below. I still have a full gallon size ziploc bag full of pink scrapes, so I have to figure those out before the end of the month. I haven't trimmed any of these blocks (except for the Secret Lives ones), so please excuse all the threads I had the worst problems putting the log cabin block together, I'm not looking forward to that next month. Hope you all get to do some crafting today. Take care

It got hot!!! I ran some errands this am and did some work here around the house. I even changed a light switch, and did not blow up the house. This am I had to take an online course, which I am so very thankful is over with. I had a ton of trouble getting the Ipad to cooperate with it, and this am made myself work on the computer. Thankful that I got the course done, and despite what I was told - that the course would work on tablets, it does not really.
Got some plants and soil today…so I guess that is the extent of my crafting. I guess gardening counts, even if that is not my favorite thing to do.
Ruth, CJ and Sue, hope you can check in and are doing well Ginny

CJ- your blocks are so pretty! Love the churn dash blocks ( I almost bought a churn dash pattern yesterday). Would you ever consider doing a scrappy pink quilt? Sounds like you have a lot of pink scraps and that would use them up. Just an idea and a way to practice with scrappy without too much stress.

Hello - Hope you are all doing well today It got up to around 80 here, breezy and sunny. Sue - I hope you didn't get much snow from the "blizzard" this week. Ruth - Hope you are getting some crocheting done. Ginny - Hope you are able to get your plants in the ground soon. No more scrappy quilts for me I made the three weekly blocks today, so I'm caught up for the week. I'll try to post some pictures this weekend. Now I want to get those extra star blocks and the panel blocks squared up for the Sweet Dreams quilts. I think there are only 2 more blocks, so it will soon be time to put the outer border of blocks on these quilts. I'm glad I've already done the large HST corners and cut the sashing pieces, so as soon as the blocks are done I can start piecing it. I'm really happy to get a Lighthouse quilt, but I'm kind of tired of this quilt along Hope you all get to do some crafting this weekend. Take care

Good evening, CJ- I am so very glad that you are all caught up and got the three weekly blocks made today! Of course I am looking forward to seeing them when you get a chance to post them. You have shared with us how excited you are to get the lighthouse quilt done, and have collected the fabrics for that for quite awhile. Knowing how very prolific you are at quilting, I hope that you will commit to actually finishing that quilt so you can have it out and enjoy it!!! Nutty day for me- I worked this am and then stopped in to visit with someone I used to work with. I sort of owed a visit to him (he was the other trainer before he left to work for another district) and he helped me online with the course I just took. Good to see him, sort of….he is very full of himself (but pleasant enough). Went to BJ’s….and tried to go to Target. I have now come to the conclusion that I really dislike shopping in a store, and what I was looking for I can order from Walmart. Looking forward to 4 days of quiet and being home. Below are the 3 fabrics that I picked up, which I will use to make a small quilt with. Ruth, how was your day? And like CJ-it got warm here. A bit too warm for my taste.
