Good morning all. I hope a great Christmas was enjoyed by all and that Santa was good to y'all.
I'm looking forward to getting back to a more 'normal' eating style. I need that 'balance' back!
Today there isn't anything on our agenda. TG nothing needs to be 'exchanged'. I just need to pick up a few produce items and then will come back home and veg.
Tomorrow is my well needed and deserved trip to Enzo! Can't want to get this hair back in shape!
Wishing all a wonderful day!

Good morning, Ann! I'm about to make a trip to Salem for the (hopefully) last load and to drop off some Goodwill (donation, and of course, cheer, LOL.) I'm hoping that the traffic will be lighter today, but still don't want to get caught later in the day. I am all about Geezer Traffic for the store, the road, you name it! We had a lovely day yesterday; I think Jeremy was pleased with all the holiday programs and services; Brady facetimed me from Paris while I was getting ready. Our food was delicious, but way too much. I hadn't realized it was going to be a buffet, it's a farm to table restaurant and was outstanding, but I really don't eat that much anymore, and was full after the salad. I was raised with buffets, my parents loved them, and that kind of over-eating just does not appeal to me (*getting your money's worth*) I was uncomfortably full the rest of the day and just had my yogurt and cherries the rest of the day. So, for me it was too much, but I also know that for a holiday meal, I was very tame. I will be the Scrooge here and say I'm just not comfortable with the excesses of the holidays anymore. We had a really quiet afternoon, Jeremy walked Leia and I fixed our mantle (the only pretty thing in the apt, LOL) It was just a day of love and laughter; my memories of most holidays are so stressed and it felt like a gift; I'm so glad we got the moved basically finished. I slept like a rock last night, so must get the day going! Will check in later.

Hello Friends!
Thank you for opening us up, Ann! Like many of you, I will be very glad to get back to more normal eating. I was mindful of my choices yesterday and did not overdo it, but definitely had food that I don't normally eat. Today is our granddaughter's birthday, so we have one more family gathering which will be fun.
Kathy, I couldn't see the pictures you posted in the thread yesterday, but I did see the pictures you posted on Connect which were beautiful. I love the picture you posted today of your mantel. Your apartment looks lovely. I wish both you and your husband much happiness in your new home.
Judy, I don't have any advice for you on the extravagant gift giving, however, like you, I would have felt a little awkward about it. You are smart to simply accept the gifts and be grateful. By the way, I think the framed aerial photos of their beach house was a perfect and gift for them! Enjoy your facial at the spa today.
Ann, I'm glad you can have a quiet day today. I know you will be happy to see Enzo tomorrow. There's nothing like having a visit with your hair stylist in my opinion!
I agree with wanting to drive in the Geezer Traffic, and I avoid going to stores on the weekend if at all possible. It's one of my favorite things about being retired.
Wishing a good day to all.
Carol

Hi girls, Carol I agree 100% re: shopping and being retired. Wild horses won't get me far from home on a weekend! No need for that. I don't 'ride well' and get tired of using the BREAKS in the passenger side of the car LOL.
Kathy your mantel is awesome. Very festive and pretty. You did a wonderful job! I don't do extravagant so have no pearls of wisdom to share. Enjoy your last trip to Salem!
Wow, Judy. You hit the jackpot with your gifts. Enjoy your spa and meal out. Maybe you could 'adopt me ' LOL.
Time for me to get a move on here. I probably won't get back online. I just want to get the little shopping done and come in to relax my body and mind LOL......
Ciao!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Monday, Monday ..... That just popped into my mind for some reason. I have completely lost track of the days recently so it really doesn't matter, I s'pose.
Ann ~ Thanks for opening up the Cafe this morning. I know how much you are looking forward to tomorrow; and rightfully so!!
Kathy ~ Thanks for posting the pictures. I saw J's church pix yesterday but by the time I returned home last evening they wouldn't open any more. I saw your mantle this morning - and it is absolutely gorgeous!! You have such a flair. And may I add - I love the two windows flanking the fireplace. It is so nice to be able to picture you in such a serene setting.
Judy ~ Sounds like you had a fabulous time! I can relate to the generosity of others as DH and I have always stayed within our budget/plans; but there have been times when others' gifts gave us pause. At those times we have to remember that the gift for many is the giving and we have no right to deprive them of that by not being appropriately appreciative (however uncomfortable we might be). That is another thing in life that is a "journey" and we are making progress. I agree that your gift of the photo was priceless! Another part of this process is not assigning $$ value to all gifts - as some are those "one of a kind" that no monetary value can be placed upon. I am sure you will enjoy reliving this trip in the coming days while you are enjoying your peace and quiet at home.
Carol ~ Glad you had a good holiday - and enjoy that DGD's birthday!
We had a whirlwind couple of days and were both very tired last night - but nonetheless we watched not one, but two, Christmas movies after we got home. We went to bed at the usual time, but turned on the TV and watched the second half of a movie in bed. I slept well, but am tired today. There was a lot going on Christmas Eve at DBIL's because there were many youngsters, etc., and lots of talking and laughing. Then yesterday .... oh my!! .... we went to our AA Alkathon and saw old friends and visited and then went to DH's VBF's restaurant where, once again there was a lot going on. We sat with his 3 kids + 1 GF and had lots of conversation going on all at once. We went right from there to our niece's house where all the family was gathered (this time, thankfully, only the "older" kids) and had a great time. She is such a talented hostess - and everything was just perfect! After we ate, we adjourned downstairs where the dessert table was, and played games (and prizes were given) and just had *too much fun*!! She had flown in her DH's sister from Florida as a surprise for him; and so we had an additional family member to (get to know and) enjoy. What a weekend!!
In regards to food, I didn't do badly. I enjoyed some things I don't normally eat, but overall did OK. The scale was at its usual spot this morning, so no harm done. I find that since I started eating less, I get full on less (duh! wouldn't you think I would already know that?) and I am able to enjoy an indulgence without doing permanent damage. I did enjoy some sweets yesterday and paid for it with heartburn last evening (a good reminder of why I usually avoid such). But, hey, it was fun for a minute!
I want to put away some Christmas gifts and pack up the boxes (we reuse them year to year) and the living room will look less cluttered. I am making great headway on catching up the laundry (Yay!) and DH and I talked about making a trip to Costco possibly later this afternoon (bah, humbug!). We need to one day, but it doesn't have to be TODAY! I have a dental appointment tomorrow morning and fear there will be some major work done and it may affect how I feel the next few days. Not looking forward to that, but it is what it is; and at least I'm off school this week to recover. Enough of me for now.
BBL. Make a great day!

LOL Sue, all I had to do was LOOK IN THE MIRROR and I KNEW that today was Monday!!!!! I'm the one with the HAIR PROBLEM which will be remedied tomorrow. Other than that, I wouldn't know what day it was either.
Now I have that Mamma's and Papa's song in my head. Have fun at Costco if you go! I hear ya, though, on just wanting to stay put! Good luck at the dentist.
GMTA. I still have the tree up, but I put away some of the decorations. When Carl came in he didn't notice at first!!!! Then he said 'gee, I can't go out for a half hour without you cleaning up' LOL. Oh well. The tree doesn't come down until after January 6th. That's how it was growing up, and I guess old habits die hard!
Well, going to unplug and get into the jammies early. Although I also slept well, I'm beat!
Talk at some point tomorrow.....
Ciao and sweet dreams!
