While my brain is still functional -
CJ- for the floral quilt I would absolutely do a small grey border with the floral on the outside. The light house- a blue inner border followed by a red outer border would be stunning- which sort of echoes what you did anyway.
Ruth - my husband could not stand Panera- he thought it was chick food and did not serve enough for a man. That being said I really like it there and enjoy their food. And I do hope that whatever blanket pattern you make for DGS is easy to make and goes quickly.
Phyl- you sure have been busy making charity quilts!!! And yes, I also hope that your blocks measure up to be 4 1/2 inches. Its such a pain when the blocks to not measure up.
Worked this am and then ran a bunch of errands. Now I am pretty tired- and am looking forward to just relaxing and reading. Think I am in for a weekend of rain, and that does not bother me one bit. I did get a tiny bit of gardening in again last night, planted potatoes that had sprouted and got the other bed ready for when I am ready to plant it. Also put sunflower seeds in a pot on the deck- they need to be there to keep the critters from eating the plants. Ginny

Hello Everyone Phyl - Glad to hear you had a good time yesterday and good luck with getting those projects finished this month. Ruth - Hope you can find some time to work on your blanket. Ginny - Hope you get to rest and relax this weekend. I'm supposed to have rain all weekend too and it's been raining here today. Sue - Hope you are doing well. Thanks everyone for your suggestions for borders on my two quilts I appreciate the support and input. I was able to make my two weekly Moda Blockheads blocks this morning and was happy to be all caught up. The small block had cutting instructions for a piece that measure 1 1/16th of an inch. This is the first time I've ever cut a piece for a quilt block that was a 1/16th of a inch! When I got on the Moda Blockhead Facebook page today, I saw that there was a bonus block that came out today. And I thought I was caught up I've already cut out the pieces for those bonus two blocks and hope to get them made tomorrow. I want to work on that layer cake quilt, so I hope I can do that this weekend. Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care!

CJ- that is unreal, a piece cut 1 1/16 inch- which I have never cut before either. I wonder if Phyl has. Regarding your quilts,I am sure you will do what is best for you, based upon the fabric you have on hand and what you think looks best. Colors do not always come through on a phone/tablet/computer perfectly so you see things as we do not here. Think we are both in for a lovely weekend for crafting, as it is supposed to rain in this general area. As its supposed to warm up later on next week, I am fine with a cooler, and rainy day. Bet that was a big surprise that there was a bonus block that came out! Do you have an idea what the final quilt top will look like?Forgive me, I do not remember.
Got an email yesterday that my PMQ shipment for next month is sure out soon to arrive in a few days. Yikes. I feel like I just finished last months block.

How in the world would you cut a piece 1/16th of an inch? I wouldn't even be able to see a piece that small!
It sounds like all of you are keeping really busy. Ginny, on CJ's pink and red quilt I was thinking those same colors you mentioned but as you said, colors often don;t look the same on everyones devices.
We're in for hot temps next week too. 88 on Tues.
We're expecting company this afternoon so no crocheting for me.Gotta get this space cleaned up some too.

I've been looking back at the weeks I missed because of no internet. I see you ladies mentioned the extra large hefty bags. I ordered mine on Amazon and use them for my crochet projects. I put in the current project with it's yarn if there's not too much along with a note telling me what the pattern is and where it can be found, size of the hook I'm using and what row I'm on.Of course being me, I don't get all put into these bags so I end up with UFO's that I have no idea what the pattern is and/or the size hook I was using, or where I am in the pattern. I also try to list the projects I'm doing in a notebook but very often don't get to it.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are having a good day and weekend It's cool (50s) and raining here and a bit breezy. I'm happy for the weather to stay cool Ginny - The month goes by so quickly, doesn't it? I hope you receive your next block in the mail soon. I hope you get to do some crafting on your rainy day. Ruth - Hope that hot weather goes away quickly. I love those large hefty bags and use them for all my projects. Hope you enjoy your company. Phyl - Hope you are able to work on your projects. Sue - Hope you are well and get to do some crafting. I agree that pictures taken on my phone and then posted here don't really show the best colors of the quilt blocks/quilts. My Moda blocks look so muted in the pictures, but in person they are a bit more bright. I was shocked to see that pattern with 1/16 inch cutting instructions too I do have a 6 inch square ruler that had a small portion showing 1/16 inch markings so I tried to use that. My blocks came out alright so I guess I did pretty well I decided to go easy for the borders on my Sweet Dreams quilts. I added a large floral border to the floral version since I wanted to show off that fabric. When I cut up the floral fabric it just didn't look as pretty. This quilt finished at 70x82 inches and is one of the biggest quilts I've made. For the lighthouse version I just put a smaller light blue border on. I could bind this quilt in the red fabric to pull it all together. This quilt finished at 66x78 inches. I was able to get the other Moda Blockheads blocks made this morning and to cut up the layer cake of that pretty yellow/black/white/gray fabric, so I'm ready to start piecing that quilt. I should be able to do a lot of chain piecing so I hope the top goes together quickly. Thanks again for all your support, suggestions and comments on my quilts - I appreciate everything Take care and enjoy your weekend! CJ- the quilts are so pretty! You did a great job finishing them off and adding the final borders. Well done- and much to be proud of. Both are large quilts, so quilting them will be a bit more challenging but still doable. I hope you actually finish and bind the lighthouse quilt cause you like it so and its representative of the area you live near.
Got a lot of housework done today and DD and DGS stopped over. Good to see them- and I hope to get to some quilting in a little bit.
Ruth, enjoy your company, and I know you like hot weather, so that is good for you.

Well I got 3 more blocks done and then had to clean up the room and put stuff away. Got little ones coming here tomorrow and there are far too many sharp edges in quilt supplies, so its all in a closet now. Let’s just hope I can find everything later on!

CJ, your quilts turned out very beautiful as usual. I hope you'll somehow be able to display the lighthouse one as it seems like you really like it and with good reason so you should be able to look at it often.
Happy Mother's day to those of you that are mothers. Phyl, I've only been to an Outback twice and I really liked it. Once it was all free because I had donated a toy at Christmas. Second time dh ordered all you can eat shrimp and the server came back very often to make sure dh got all he wanted.DH is a big eater.
Had a great evening with my company yesterday then after they left did a little crocheting and that's what I'm going to do today except to run to the gas station to pick up some gasoline for our mower

Hello - Wishing you all a Happy Mother's Day I finished making all the blocks for the layer cake quilt and I'm just trying to figure out how to lay them out. There are 13 rows of 6 long blocks, so I need to try to mix the fabric sand the lights and darks. I hope I can get that done so they will be ready to sew together. Hope you are all having nice weather and enjoying the day. Take care!
