Ruth, we will wait for you for the intervention for sure. Gotta say the Amish Market is quite a place and we would all have a hoot there. So sorry that its supposed to be so hot. Yes, use your AC- better safe than sorry. And I leaned something else new- had to look up what a Japanese knot bag was. I checked them out on the internet and they sure look cool. Are they hard to make??
Phyl- Hope that the police are able to sort out all the issues with this other driver. I will say it sounds complicated. Leave the investigation to the professionals and I hope your insurance takes good care of you.
Got some crochet in last night and some yard work this am. So thankful that tonight its supposed to be in the mid 50’s. Perfect for sleeping. Ginny

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today and having nice weather. It's warm here and I'm not sure if it's humid or not, since I haven't been outside yet today Phyl - I hope everything will work out for you with the insurance and dealing with the accident. Ruth - Those knot bags look cute. Ginny - I'm glad you are getting to do some crocheting and having nice sleeping weather. Sue - Hope you are well. For the Summer Camp quilt along I had it all planned out that I was using textured solid colors (all different) for the quilt with a yellow background, but when I started laying that out yesterday I was not happy with it. I have another option with a multi color background fabric and still using the textured solids, so I might give that a try. If I did do another version I have some floral fabric that I recently bought that was on sale and was hoping to use that if I can find some good matching fabric in my stash. I was able to finish my Laundry Basket blocks for Clue 2 (those are the 8 blocks along the top row) and I've included a picture with Clue 1 included. The designer said the point of this quilt is to show shading so I guess there will be a lot of strip sets or use of 2 same color fabrics. These strips are cut at 1.5 inches. There will be 81 blocks in the full quilt. I also finished my two Moda Blockheads blocks and I'm happy with them, a Friendship Star is always a great block. I'm also including a picture of my 31 finished Ohio Star blocks for the Oh Say Can You Sew quilt along too. I need to trim these, but I have all month to do that. Hope you are all getting to do some crafting. Take care

I don't know what the temp here was during the night but it was cold and I had to pull on another blanket.
Ginny, I'm glad to hear you were able to get in some crocheting. The Japanese knot bag is not hard at all. All it really is is any market bag or other bag made in a rectangle and two kind of wide straps one longer than the other. Oh and thank you for waiting for me.
CJ, I think that the quilt will be beautiful. I think that Laundry Basket quilt is going to be pretty, I think the Friendship quilt is more eye catching but after people look at the Laundry Basket one they will love it too. I hope you can find fabric that will work well for the Camp one.
Phyl, well there is something going on with that man that ran into you. It's strange. But I do hope that the insurance company has things going that you can get your car fixed. When someone ran into me he gave me his info then he left. Well where I live...don't know if this is everywhere...you have to get a police report so I called them and they called the man and told him to get back to where he hit me and gave him a ticket for leaving the scene

I decided to go with my original idea to use a yellow fabric for the background of all my blocks for the Summer Cammp quilt along, I guess I'll see how it goes. So I finished Block #1 which is called "Tents" and I'm happy with it. Most of the blocks don't fit the name of the block, so I was happy to make a "tent" block. The fabrics I'm using are a Chambray tonal from Connecting Threads and really nice silky fabric.

CJ- you sure were busy quilting!! I agree that the laundry basket blocks are outstanding at showing shading, and I like the assortment of fabrics you have selected for that. Its so pretty. Have fun with the summer camp blocks, even if they do not all look like they are supposed to its a cute idea. Who cannot love a friendship star block? So pretty.
Ruth,We will be happy to wait for you anytime!!! Good to hear that you were chilly last night. Better to need (and have) another blanket than be sweating all night long. How many knot bags do you anticipate making? I know you like to make things like that for family gifts….such a nice idea.
Yes, got some crocheting in last night, and my next shipment of fabric arrived for the PMQ. Hope to get to work on that this weekend.
See ya later! G

HAPPY FRIDAY MORNING, remember working and we were glad to see Friday and the weekend come, depending on what kind of job ewe had. I also worked a lot of weekends in my life.
Don't worry I will not interfere withe investigation if there is one,I just was being a cat with curiosity. funny how when he stopped out of the car the "thought drug dealer" came to my mind. it was not a gut funny,as I watched him the thought stayed with me.
Skippy (neighbor) thinks the reason he didn't stop right away, because he might have had to hide drugs or let passengers out of the car, happened so fast even none of the witness's could not tell if there were other people in the car.
the CRV goes in next Friday for a estimate, insurance company told us to take it in.Don says they have away of finding out where the car will be fixed.who knows he could be out of the state by now.
that same Friday night there was big drug bust (over one million dollars ) in our town, plus they found a lot of gun different kinds. the guy is only 26 years old how did he get that much stuf
the reason they like our town is because we close to the interstate and they can be long gone ,not only drug dealers, weapon dealers, but idiots who do stuff to kids.sad.
THURSDAY is our cut ups day at The the quilt Shop, might do a baby quilt ,our neighbor is due on he 22nd she might come a few days early. we are going into summers o now big hurry. phyl

CJ, I think the colors of your tents blocks work great and as usual you did a great job.
Ginny, last night, too, required and extra blanket and I think that tonight will too. All too soon though it will be the week of high 90's and will not be easy to sleep in the heat.
For Christmas gifts I think i'll be making 6 knot bags. There are so many different patterns for them but a person could easily make one with no pattern at all.I know I mentioned rectangle but many are done in the round also and start with a variety of bases. I saw a pattern for a pretty granny stitch bag last evening and it was made in the round. had a square base and could easily be turned into a knot bag.

PHyl, we must have been typing at the same time. Yes that's the first thing that came to my mind too when you said the other driver left the scene then came back and said he had to take something out of his car... I thought, hmmm, drugs..and not a smart person either or he would have made up a better excuse. We're right on an interstate too but it's not one is a major route although it does go through Denver and is the way to get from Montana,Wyoming, and weatern SD to I 80. And, yes we know that you and Don won't interfere. Nothing else needs to be done but for you to get the estimate then get it fixed. The police will investigate him if they feel it's needed and that part really has nothing to do with your vehicle repair. But it's interesting and I would have done the same and looked him up. I'm a curiosity cat too.sometimes the insurance company when they talk to you or have you fill out a form will ask if either driver received a ticket and, of course, it should be his ins co that pays

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today We must all be busy with no one posting since yesterday afternoon! I did end up making a second block for the Summer Camp quilt along, I'll see if I can continue. And I was able to finish making all my blue strip blocks for the month, so I'm caught up with that. Today I went to a quilt show with my SIL. It was alright, but just wasn't as nice as it used to be before covid. But we still saw a few really pretty quilts and I picked up a few pieces of fabric at their guild table. After we left the show we went by a local quilt shop that was having a sale and I bought some fabric there. So overall it was a nice time. Hope you are all getting to do some crafting and having a nice weekend.

I stopped in a few times but no one had posted and I was the last one so I didn't really have much new to say.Anyway, good to see you, CJ and I'm glad to hear that you were able to go to a quilt show and a quilt shop with your SIL. Sounds like you had a good and productive day. Did anyone wear masks. Here I haven't seen even one mask in over a month. I think that most people have realized that the virus is fading out and that if you do get it it won't be serious.I guess the WHO hates to give up and say the pandemic is over. At least I haven't heard that they did.
I'm still working on the know bag. It's time consuming when done in Peaches n creme yarn.
See you all tomorrow.

Good morning!
I got into bed last night and realized that I had not posted yesterday. I was watching Top Gun (the original movie which was on TV last night) as I had heard good things about the new version that is out now. The original was ok- a very 80’s movie. And I fell asleep (but did finish watching it because I DVR’ed the movie.)
CJ- sounds like a fun day- and I am glad you and your DSIL got out to a quilt show! That is something I think both you and I really wanted to do last year, but no one was hosting those kind of activities last year. So nice as things begin to return to normal. Of course a good thing that you bought some fabric- did you find any specific fabric that you have plans for, or just fabric that you know you will be able to use? (I struggle just buying fabric without specific plans for it). Sounds as though you are not super enthusiastic about the Summer Camp QAL- are you already doing too many other QAL?
Ruth, is the peaches n cream Bayern more difficult to work with for the knot bag pattern? I was out and about last weekend a bit, and saw some masks, a slight rise than a month or so ago but still most folks are not wearing them. I have heard some say that the pandemic is over with, but nothing official and yes agree that its a control thing. I had an eye doctor appointment on Friday and had to wear a mask for that (even though the masks are pretty useless, but seeing an eye doctor does mean a fair amount of close contact.)
Phyl- hope that the estimate for the repair of your CRV is reasonable, and of course the insurance should cover it all (depending upon the deductible). In the past I was able to get limited information on another driver and how their insurance was handling it, or if a summons was issued.
DD and DGS#3 were over yesterday, and it was a fun day with them. The little fellow fights napping- and while DD and DS were chatting in the house I took the little fellow out to the swing in the back yard. Well he fell asleep in that so we sort of finished our visit outside keeping DGS company while he took his outdoor nap.
Got a mother house finch feeding a baby on my window feeder. So cute….
See ya later Ginny

Hello Ruth - I only saw a handful of people wearing masks at the quilt show. I've still been wearing them when grocery shopping, but I don't know if there is much point at all anymore - although maybe they keep me a bit safe from the virus. I've been hearing that the medical community thinks the virus is going to be spreading a lot more later this summer. One of my local hospitals won't let family into the emergency room again, they have to wait outside while the patient is in the emergency room. So who knows what will happen the rest of the year. Ginny - I'm glad to hear you had a fun day with your DD and DGS#3 and that you enjoyed watching the original Top Gun movie again. Are you going to go see the new one? I am happy with the Summer Camp quilt along. I love that they are larger blocks (12.5 inches) and that there are only 9 of them and set in a straight setting. I just wasn't sure if I'd keep doing the second version, but I probably will since it's a great way to use fabric. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are well. I've been trying to figure out how I want to set the blocks for my Moda Blockheads quilt and I think I've decided which layout I'm going to use - it's the one from the Fat Quarter Shop. I made a few test blocks this morning and I'm fairly happy with how they look. I want to make up some more to be certain. www.fatquartershop.com/kimberlys-moda-blockheads-4-quilt-setting-free-pdfThere are 36 total blocks in this quilt along, but I'm only going to use 30 of them in my top and put them 5 blocks across by 6 rows down. I've heard that some of the upcoming blocks might be applique or paper foundation piecing and I don't care for either of those, so I just wouldn't make them. But if I did, then I'll just need to pull out 6 blocks and I could always put them together in a small quilt top. Hopefully I'll settle on this so I can go ahead and get these blocks made up and start joining some of the rows. It's nice to get that done throughout a quilt along instead of having to do it all at the end. I'm trying not to start something new and get some of these other projects ahead of the game - we'll see if that lasts Hope you are all getting to do some crafting. Take care

Good morningGinny and CJ, and also Phyl and Sue...oh but it's afternoon so good afternoon instead.,
CJ as I said you are very creative and if there are blocks you don't like you know how to modify the pattern to suit you. You are very blessed with a great talent.
Well I got my knot bag done, now what do I make. I have to look through my patterns.

HI, Don,talked to the police officer Friday night again, they aren't going to do any more then they have already done.so the investigation is we will have to pay the $500 deducable ,if the insurance company can find out about his insurance company we will get paid back.
yesterday in the am talked to THERESA,went to bluff view quilt shop about 30 miles from here. had a $20 dollar stamped card need to be use before they change hands. I bought 2 cardinal panels, will give on to Theresa and a snowman panel with boarders and backing and a few other items ,so only cost me $27. 00.
there was Christmas quilt kit I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO BOUGHT YESTERDAY. by the time buying the backing ,I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PUT OVER $100 ON MY CC.IT IS STILL THERE I was only interested in buy a small amount and paying cash. PHYL
