HAPPY MONDAY AND HI, HAVEN'T DONE ANY QUILTING WITH MY NEW FABRICS YET,HAVEN'T DONE ANY AT ALL.
Friday night the WI STAT TRACK MEET was in town, normally we stay out of the mall area FRIDAY AND SATURDAY of this weekend, for some reason we decide to to go APPLEBEE'S.
people can be wonderful,we had the green light and was making our turn off of hwy 16.told Don watch that black car,he is coming fast and isn't going to stop.then bang our CRV rear fender got hit.. we made our turn and stopped.a lady asked if were alright and pulled into the parking lot. we were still on the off street, called 911 and the guy had a hard time talking to me. then there were 3 more people who saw it and stopped. they all agreed we had the light and he ran it and did not stop.on lady has a photograpic mind and got the licenese number.
after 3 calls the officer showed up and had us pull into the parking lot..just as he is coming the guy shows up.he said he had to get something off his car.well his car is worse, the font right fender got it and the head light and I don't know what else,Don says he tries to turn right and the tire will rub against his fender, not being RACIST,HE was a tall black young guy with long several braids and young..drive a black sporty high end sports car.DON said I BET HE HAS HIGH INSURANCE.we forgot to look at the car to see what kind it is.
so we get to APPLEBEE'S AND SHALEE THE GAL WITH THE PHOTO MIND IS BEHIND US AND INSITS ON BUYING OUR SUPPER.Don told her we should buy you supper, no,no,.no, late she comes back with a $40 gift card, while we were talking waiting for the officer she told us she is from Panama, lived in WI for 31 years, has a brother deployed in ITALY HEADING FOR GERMANY, I COULD BE FRIENDS WITH HER, SHE LIVE AT LEAST 40 MILES FROM HERE.
Don has wondered if maybe the guy came back to look for something and saw all the people standing and decide to pull in. lot of if's and wonders on this. we are ok. I do have a chiro appointment tomorrow ,haven't seen him since March16th,so it is time even without he big bang, phyl.

Phyl, thankfully the car didn't hit you seconds before because he would have hit you right on the passenger door and you could have been seriously hurt. I'm so glad you and Don are ok. And yes, that sure was nice of the woman not only to stop at the accident scene and supply information but too also follow you to Appleby's and buy your meal and a gift card. A person couldn't get much nicer than that.I wonder what it was that the young man had to get from his car...drugs maybe /

Phyl, just glad to hear that you and Don are ok. Cars can be replaced or repaired. The police usually do an excellent job of figuring out how an accident occurred based upon the point of impact. Glad too that you have witnesses also, which will help. Honestly, it is really no longer considered the correct thing to do to assume that you have the right of way, no matter what the conditions are. Its always best to scan an intersection and all your mirrors before making any turn- even if you have a green light, Hope that you have no whiplash from the incident, and that Don is ok also.

Hello Phyl - I'm sorry to hear about your accident, but glad that you and your DH weren't hurt and that there were nice people around to help you. I hope your car is easily fixed and insurance handles everything for you. Ruth - Hope you are getting some crocheting done. Ginny - Hope you are having cooler weather like I am. Sue - Hope you are well. It's been pretty nice here temperature wise - high 70s, low 80s. We're getting some rain this afternoon and I'm hoping no storms. I was able to get all 31 blocks made for the next clue of the Oh Say Can You Sew quilt along. These are Ohio Star blocks. I'm pretty happy with how they turned out, but I think I'm going to have to trim them, even though I don't want to Tomorrow is the start of Pat Sloan's new quilt along "Summer Camp" and the continuation of Moda Blockheads and Laundry Basket Quilts quilt alongs. Why does everyone have their block come out on Wednesday? At least I have a week to get them all done. I also finished laying out all the 4.5 inch blue scrap strips for my monthly strip blocks. I had a lot of blue scraps and I'll be making 8 blocks, and that didn't even use but about half of the scraps I had. I hope to get them sewn together over the month. Take care everyone!

CJ- its been decent here also, a bit warmer and with some showers but still not bad summer weather. You are a brave woman- I just went to Pat Sloans web site and her summer camp quilt is a mystery quilt along. What color scheme have you chosen for that- what fabric line? Oh, somehow I know you will be able to figure out what/how to accomplish all these quilt alongs. Yes you have a week to get them all done and I am confident that you will. Your monthly strip blocks, is that another quilt along or just something you want to work on? There is still a lot of June left to make the 8 blocks. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with that.
Long day- babysitting DGS who was pretty good but is teething.
Got some rain headed my way this evening- and I am looking forward to a quiet evening. Ginny

I haven't been doing much today. It's great to see my friends here on the message board. CJ, wow, 31 blocks!!! That's amazing. And I agree with Ginny that you will get all those QAL's done unless you find that one or more aren't to your liking and turn it into a smaller project. You're very creative.
Ginny, teething babies can definitely be a challenge.
Earlier I think I did get one row of a doll skirt done.I'll probably work on some more doll clothes this evening but am not sure.

Ruth, were you able to get those doll clothes made last night- or at least some progress?
I go no crafting done, but read last night on what deck, listening to the birds. I did start looking for ideas on how to make a quilt for my DBIL ( a quilt of valor). It will depend upon on what fabric is available when I get to the store, but I got some really nice ideas.
See ya later G

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today. It's a lot warmer here today, and humid. We're supposed to get some storms this evening. I'm hoping they are not too bad, but if they are at least I'll have a chance to see if I'm still getting water coming through the ceiling/door frame. I had to go out earlier so I haven't done any quilting today. All 3 new blocks for the quilt alongs came out today and I'm so happy because they are all easy Here's a link to them so you can see what they are: Pat Sloan's Summer Camp - I need an intervention because I'm already thinking about doing a second version of this quilt www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2022/06/-summer-camp-block-1-and-see-the-auction-quilts.htmlLaundry Basket Quilts - I lucked out with this one, since I made a mistake and made more strip sets last week than I needed - and now we need them - yeah! www.laundrybasketquilts.com/post/summer-mystery-quilt-2022-week-2Moda Blockheads - a pretty Friendship Star block this week www.modafabrics.com/inspiration-resources/bh4-block-12I hope I can work on all of these tomorrow. Hope you are getting to do some crafting today and having nice weather. Take care

Good evening! CJ- ok β¦..I am heading down for the quilting intervention, that is after I pick up up and we head to a few quilt shops and amish markets. Yeah, lotta good I would be for an intervention as I am entertaining starting the WW quilt of valor for my DBIL without having finished a quilt here. SO, what you did not share was the color schemes for each quilt. The Summer camp one seems to be adorable, what is your first color way and your possible second choice?? the Laundry basket quilt is an excellent way to showcase a cute jelly roll, and I love how the blocks are constructed and the colors are cut and then reversed. You can have a lot of fun with that. Think my favorite might be the friendship star block, for its simplicity and who does not love star blocks in quilts?
Like CJ- I am in for some rain tonight, but today was a lovely day . I worked this am, but it was a short morning (which I was happy about). Got some yard work done, when unfortunately it was too hot to do much. I was encouraged that the small rose of Sharon I transplanted 2 weeks ago (and have been carefully watering) looks like it will make it. I mulched it today so that will help it keep the water that falls naturally. And the rose bush I moved in late October last fall, before it was truly dormant, has buds on it! (I thought that maybe I killed it). Its got new growth also, and is actually in a better location than it was because it gets more sun. Guess I will mulch that too- which will make it look better. Actually had a little bit of my own garden lettuce in my salad this evening.
Time to go inside and crochet. We are in for rain tomorrow so I will not be able to be outside then and will get to some quilting.

Wait for me. I'm coming to the intervention too so that I can go to the Amish markets That camp one with the tent block is very cute however my favorite also is the star. In the Laundry basket blocks the blue ones are my favorites esp the lower one.I watched a quilting video in which a woman was talking about "all the things I do that the quilt police will hate. She says she doesn't wash her fabric before cutting, she doesn't use Best Press or starch, she use a making gel pen that she was told is bad to use and she doesn't press her seams to the side, instead she presses them open. I also went to the Quilts of Valor page. What a great thing to do. And they had wonderful quilts and the patterns for them on the site. I'm glad your rose bush and rose of Sharon are doing well. I think I have a brown thumb. Most plants I plant die. My beautiful yellow rose bush died out last year. It's to be pretty cool here for the next few days but come Monday every day will be over90 including a 96 day and humid too. I'm not looking forward to that and will definitely be using the a/c despite the electric cost. I I decided to take a break from doll clothes and am now working on a Japanese knot bag, A lot of the people in the fb crochet groups are making and talking about them and a lot of youtube videos have sprung up so I guess that's the newest trendy thing.I'm thinking maybe Christmas gifts.

HI, THIS am was the chiro, then breakfast out,the bank and getting groceries.
we finally heard from the other guys agent, not a insurance company more like a loan place.
DON did tell her for 2007 car it looks pretty good. she reminded him they don't use salt down south. they have offices in S.C.,N.C,VA AND TN.SHE WILL DO some INVESTIGATING.
I did go to google and search out his name.the picture kinda looks like him,not sure that guy has a wanted record for killing a 12 year old.NOW if this guy is guilty would he use his real name? could he just be using this as fake name?
think there will be a lot of unanswered questions.
no quilting yet maybe by the weekend, nest week is another cut ups day at the quilt shop.we met twice a month ,once in a town hall and then the quilt shop..so when I say sew day I AM REALLY SAYING CUT UPS.we will have regular sew days every so often.
remember the 6 and 1/2 inch blocks I WAS MAKING? that was like C.J'S friendship star. . phyl
