Monday 50 minutes walking in place after we drove to Love Field and back at 5am to drop off our niece for her flight. It was too hot when we got back so I just did the next best thing, walk in place with ear phones on. Tuesday 65 minutes walking early this morning with Kay. It was only 80 when we walked with a little breeze. Michelle, It's going to be 105 for the next three days and 10something until next Thursday so far. At least it's not the 113 it is in Las Vegas. 3 Days HOF/SHOF

Monday 13,146 Functional fitness steps and some Yoga Tuesday 8,743 FF steps and Yoga. Much time spent crawling around under bushes that line the front deck. It's toasty warm now. 3 Days HOF/SHOF Sally, LV is beyond warm sometimes. I lived there as a young grammar schooler in a non insulated un-A/C trailer out on the desert where we got to watch the above ground nuclear bombs going off. Kaboom! of course they did this just at sunrise and we could barely see the columns. Glad there was no wind to blow that stuff our way! However we all had to wear dog tags and little pics of ourselves in case they melted or ? us. Even at our young ages we found the dog tags and pics weird.

Whoa, Michelle. Had no idea you were in the LV desert at that time. God bless your heart for surviving that heat and the nuclear events happening around you. Question? Do you light up at night? Just asking with a huge smile on my face and chuckling under my breath. I remember watching a television show on those nuclear tests on our black and white TV. We were in West Virginia at the time. Northwest of Las Vegas right? We went to an outdoor shooting range near there with some friends one early morning.
Wednesday 65 minutes walking the ranch alone from 6:15-7:20 in the cool of the morning. 4 Days HOF/SHOF

Wednesday 10,139 Normal Day Steps, Yoga 4 Days HOF/SHOF Sally, You made me laugh! Between the nuclear bombs and the school district thinking that we could wander around in the desert to hopefully find the school, life was pretty interesting back then. My mom, however, did not think that the daily trying to find the school plan was a good one so she made them grade a road (of sorts) for us to follow to get to the school. To this day one of my favorite things to do is to turn over dried mud slabs since that was about the only thing to do in that kind of desert. Go figure....

Now that is a testament to what smart small children can do to stay out of trouble. You've got grit! And that is a good thing. But I always figured you did reading between the lines of your posts. It's great to know our past may have a positive influence on who we become. Respect!

Sunday 60 minutes and another day walking alone on the ranch as Kay is still hanging out at home. 1 Day HOF/SHOF Thanks Michelle for those kind words. It's been a stretch the past few months for me but I'm not giving up or giving in... One thing I finally figured out this morning on my walk. This is one thing I can do each day that I don't need to ask for permission from anyone to do and I can do it whenever I want and for how ever long I want to walk. I have control of my life for 60 minutes even though we still don't have a plan for what we will do eventually but at least for 60 minutes I've got a purpose. Got up early this morning when it was still cool and got in 60 minutes and still had time to get ready for church. Living in limbo is not my favorite thing. I keep repeating Philippians 4:13 (NIV2011), "I can do all things through him who gives me strength." My sister and nieces are gone for two weeks so we have use of both their vehicles while they are gone which is huge. Everyone is gracious and lets us use whatever we need including the washer and dryer at my nephews home. However, I'm used to doing things on my own. I'm thankful for family. They have been so helpful but I'm not a fan of living like this. Praying we figure out what we want to do when we grow up!

Sunday - 30 minutes plus 13,217 Functional Fitness Gardening & Cleaning Steps 1 Day HOF/SHOF
Sally, IMO I can either give into aging and lead a nothing life or I can cause myself trouble by continuing to live actively. It seems to me that senior troubles are blessing in disguise. I am incredibly challenged by my lifestyle and very glad to have some misery along with the gifts I receive because I will never ever give up! Sounds like we are friends floating down the river of reality in the same boat. Let's row onward!!!!
