I started this thread last Friday in the "over 60's" section, but I think it fits better under Challenges! After all, there might be some members who are under 60 who might be interested. But I like this place.
There are responses from that first posting if you want to take a look.
THIS IS A NEW THREAD! There used to be a thread on these boards on which followers posted 3 small daily goals. That thread has disappeared. That got me to thinking as I posted my goals for the day. I wanted my goals to be part of something bigger that I was doing to improve myself. I began making a list of what I identified as major goals and habits.
Most of us have our own list of things we’d like to change to make our lives better. You know, the ever popular, stop procrastinating! And learn something new! And get organized!
The purpose of this thread is to pick a habit each week or month and identify the steps we need to make in our lives to make the change. Since it takes 27 days to make a change, a month might be best for some challenging habits. We each decide what we need.
I’m not going to go through how to make changes. There is much available on the internet and some good books on how to change habits if you’re doing something you want to do differently.
If you’re interested, you’re welcome to join me on my Goals! Routines! Habits! Journey.
Pick the habit you want to work on each week (or month) and identify up to 3 goals for each day that reflect how you are going to incorporate that habit into your life. As the week goes by, tell how it’s going, how close are you to following your new routine and making the new habit a part of your life. Each week or month we’ll start working on a new habit. I think the trick for me is going to be holding onto the new habits as I move on to the next. You know, no backsliding into the way it was before.
I’ve picked Friday to start this thread mostly because it isn’t a New Year resolution idea. It’s just coincidentally starting at the end of the year. My thought was to keep on posting on the same Friday thread until the next week. Then it’ll be easier to see what anyone who is on here has selected to work on for the week.
Happy self-improvement!
