Hi time4me - Sorry to hear about your loss coming back and the food allergies, I hope you can avoid those foods as much as possible this week I know how it is to feel defeated, I hope you did get some sleep and that you'll feel more motivated today. I have mostly done WW programs over the years, but also calorie counting. And I still did my tracking with pen and paper. I made copies of old WW weekly trackers from the Momentum program and that is what I was using to track my food/water/etc., each day. I also still had one of the old slide guide for points calculation and I used that as well as an online calculator. Here's a link to the online calculator which gives choices for the old points, points plus, and the newer points (maybe Smart points): www.calculator.net/weight-watchers-points-calculator.htmlMaybe going back to using a journal will work for you too. I hope you can find your old slider. Sometimes going back to an older plan that we know worked for us helps get us in the right frame of mind. Also have you heard about the app "Healti"? It used to be called ITrackBites. That gives you a choice of using an older plan too. For some reason (and it's good) the old Good Health Guidelines are just stuck in my head and I try very hard to have fruits, vegetables, and dairy every day. I've also kept the habit to drink 8-10 cups of water a day. Now if I could just cut back on the high fat foods and start walking again I'd probably be doing pretty good Hope everyone checking in is doing well today. I have most of the junk food out of the house again and I'm actually scared of going to the grocery store this week. I just know I'll buy a bunch of junk again I sure wish I could get back into the mindset to have a few "treats" but not overeat them or use them to deal with my feelings. Take care and have a good day!

wwlurker, Hello! Thank you for sharing your mindset. It's helpful to see where other people are at mentally so that we can all use the information to navigate toward our own definitions of success. I'm really rooting for you on this more holistic and diet-free approach. sunrose49, Congratulations on your loss! Such a great thing to celebrate. time4me, Thank you for your kind supportive words. The current WW plan has a lot of bells and whistles so it can be quite confusing, but I applaud you for giving it a shot! I hope your journey goes well. I have two family members that did gastric bypass and one kept it off, the other put it back on. I lost a gallbladder on my journey and had varicose vein surgery because of the weight stuff too. Surgery is not fun. I love your idea of using a journal. That would be nice too for cross-tracking on various plans too. I've tried, I guess 4 different diets, but the only one I ever did past a week or two was the WW PointsPlus, so that's the one I'm sticking to. Good luck finding your slider! I hope to see you around the boards! cj59, My WI did not go well, hence my absence and pity party. I do remember using the Wendie plan on and off to mix things up. It works very well. I'm glad to hear about your GHG's and your water intake, that does sound like you have a lot of good habits in place for success. I should focus on those as well, as I get back into my groove. I hope you had good luck at the grocery store. I had treats that were plan friendly and they worked very well because they weren't super exciting (gum, mints, suckers, fudgsicles, etc) but they were enough to make me feel like I had something special and could stick to my plan. I can see overeating some of them, and in my house the peanut butter jar is open with a soup spoon in hand in a pinch. I think the not eating feelings is the toughest part of my journey, but maybe it's like decluttering, get rid of the trash and the easy stuff first, then deal with the emotional stuff later. So that's what I'm hoping to do this week. Thank you for the GHG recommendation! So, to my bad WI. Up 1.5. I wasn't expecting it and it was a punch in the gut after putting in the work. I could break down all the woes of how it made me feel like I wasn't doing enough, but a few days of adjustment and I know that's not helpful. I need to focus on adding in good habits and good choices until it works. And it will work, eventually. I just don't know if or when I should weigh again. Maybe I should wait longer between WI's? Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well, thanks for reading and sharing! Have a great day!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well irisinnia - Sorry to hear about the bad WI, those are so disappointing especially when we feel we have worked hard that week. It's just such a battle. I wish you the best and hope the next weigh in is better. As for waiting between weigh-ins, that's a problem I have too. I'm avoiding the scale right now because I know seeing that number on it will not motivate me it will just depress me. I've never been someone who can accept seeing a gain when I'm dieting too - I need to see a loss! But I think one of the good things about when I used to go to meetings was that I had to weigh-in and accept what the number was and deal with it. I hope you can find a weigh-in schedule that works for you. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

*waves to everyone* cj59, You totally get it! It's jarring to see that horrible number you thought you'd never see (or never see again). Thank you for understanding! I thought about what you said about meetings and accepting the number and was feeling strong today, so... I lost weight! I was up 1.5 last week, down 2.9 this week for a total loss of 1.4! I am so happy, excited, relieved, and just all around more motivated. I needed a scale victory so bad and to finally get one is incredible. I'm so happy it's 1.4 too, that was my 'usual' loss number for my last journey (even though I know this journey will be different, it was a welcome familiarity). I know the scale shouldn't be the only thing that validates my hard work, but I gave myself enough credit to stick with it a second week, so it was really nice to see. Two weeks doesn't make a habit though, I know I have to work hard today, tomorrow, and the rest of the week, but it's just such a boost! I really don't think I would've stuck with it for two weeks if I hadn't had you all here on this fabulous board, even though I dropped out of sight for a couple days after my bad WI, so thank you so much for being there for my lows. I'm not 'cured', I'm still afraid of myself, and losing my progress. So I hope I can stick around and keep fighting. I hope you all are doing well and are having a wonderful weekend!

Hi irisinnia - I'm sitting here clapping for you and your weight loss!!!! I'm so happy for you and I hope the downward numbers on the scale and the good habits continue for you I appreciate all the support I get here too, it really does help on this tough journey. Reading your post reminded me how I used to take my measurements every month when I was losing weight because even if I didn't lose much weight I would usually see a loss of inches. I think we really need some type of way to know that our bodies are getting smaller, because that's what it's really about. Maybe I could take my measurements and try that for a bit before getting on the scale again. I'll have to think about that. I know some people can tell by their clothes getting smaller that they have lost weight. But my body is so weird - I can lose 40 pounds and still be wearing the same size clothes - it's really depressing Hope everyone is having a good weekend and being successful at whatever they are doing

Hello everyone! cj59, Thank you so much! Measurements is such a great idea!! I would never have thought of it in lieu of WI but so smart for people starting out. I think I will do my measurements. It would be such a powerful tool. My body is weird too, so I get it. I start losing weight at the top of my waist first, which gives me an hour glass profile immediately despite sporting a spare tire. Bizarre. I'm still very happy about my weight loss. I am also feeling my mind start to shift. I'm less desperate for food - it's almost manic the way I think about food on a day to day basis. Not that I'm giving myself any slack. Tracking is top priority, and planning is important too. I don't know if fear of dropping the ball is the best motivator for weight loss but it's working for me right now. It'd be really nice to replace it with something more positive. Oh well, back to work. Good luck everyone! Have a great day!

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well irisinnia - I'm glad you're still happy about your weight loss and also that you are starting to feel your mind shift. I know exactly what you are talking about - it's when it seems to click and you can focus on better habits and not obsess over the food. I know you'll stay on top of things and I wish you the best I'm back to not having a lot of junk in the house again. I did pretty well when I went to the grocery store last week. I hope if I go this week, I can limit the junk food too.

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well I hope everyone else is doing well too. I'm really unhappy with myself that I can't get started on losing weight and taking care of my health. It's just so hard

cj59, I know what you mean! I was struggling for months (if not years)! You can do it, and you will do it, you just need some sort of kickstart. I mean, I was doing the beck diet review and you would think that would be enough to get me going, but it wasn't until I didn't recognize myself in that window that the shock pushed me into action. Not to say that I'm cured. The good news is I am down again this week, 0.8, which is less than I would have wanted but two weeks of losses is a BIG WIN for me. I didn't eat much today because I was distracted with a project, but I don't have my guard up as much as I did the first week. I could easily slip back into my old ways. This week I am getting back into the swing of things with the kids school starting up. I'm hoping to find a good flow for weight loss. I do have a designated shopping day and I post the meal plan so my husband can see it and help out, which was a huge help today because I forgot and was going to make something frozen before he reminded me about the fresh stuff. And tracking is getting a little slippery so I need to tighten that up. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well this weekend and has a great week!

Hi irisinnia - Congratulations on another loss this week. I hope you can keep motivated and going down each week. I remember tracking and meal planning really helped me alot when I was losing weight and I'm sure you're finding that too. Hope everyone has a good week

sunrose49, Hello! I hope you're having a great weekend! cj59, Meal planning helps a ton. I hope that I can find what works for me and make it easier to shop and track. I'm up 0.6 this week. That was also kind of typical for my body the last time I lost. Two steps forward, one step back. I'm not upset about it, my tracking went pretty well last week even though there were some splurges. I think it's just a normal up before a down. Fingers crossed I'll see a loss this week. If not, I'll have to do something drastic - exercise, increase water, weigh and measure - yikes. I would really like to just calories in - calories out for a couple months until I'm ready for all the bells and whistles of weight loss. We shall see. I hope everyone is having a great weekend and has a great week ahead!

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well Hi irisinnia - Sounds like you have a good attitude about the small gain, that is likely just your body adjusting to something. I hope that next week shows a loss for you. That's the frustrating thing about weight loss. We can do everything right but our body just might not be ready to lose that weight! It's still nice to see a loss though after hard work I'm just not in a good place in my mind, sure wish I could get to a better one so I could focus on my eating and weight loss Hoping that everyone has a good week ahead
