August 5 is Green Peppers Day and Beer Day. Take your choice. I love green peppers, chopped and mixed into a softened cheese spread, spread on toast -- purely heavenly. Of course my digestion won't let me have them any more -- not even stuffed and baked.
Wishing you a peaceful night and a happy day.
Diane

After saying he really did not want to do anything on his actual birthday - today - Fred said last night that he would like to go to Texas Roadhouse. Found out they open at 3 today so that’s what we’ll do. Still hard to believe he’s 80! His sisters are doing a zoom with him tonight. Tomorrow we’ll go to Debbie’s and very glad she’s keeping it easy for her. She said she’s having a sandwich platter, side dishes, taco dip and cake. She was funny as she then said so don’t eat lunch before you come! Since we were invited for lunch not sure what she was thinking!
I messaged all my kids to ask what should I get in the way of beverages and snacks for next week when they come. Mike said chips/dip and Joe said the same but added Squirt, Diet Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke. He also said water is fine too. Debbie said any kind of cheese spread, also chips/dip, sausage, cheese and crackers. Don’t have to worry about actual meals as only Mike and Cindy will be here for meals Thursday and Friday and on Saturday after having snacks we’re going to a restaurant for dinner. After church Sunday we’re going to Avantis which is a local Italian restaurant which all of them like to go when they’re in town. Debbie said her, Jim, Maija and Tim will go to Mass with us as will Mike and Cindy. Joe said they won’t as after getting married he started attending the Lutheran church with Tracy and the boys were raised Lutheran. But that’s okay. They will meet us at Avantis and then head home. Mike and Cindy will drive back to Chicago to catch their flight home on the Monday. I told Fred we’ll both be pretty exhausted by then but he will have had a very nice 80th celebration. The only family missing will be Mike’s three kids but as they get older lives get busy so he’s happy at having those who can make it be here.

Well happy birthday to Fred. Sounds like he will have a birthday to remember.
I am not fond of green peppers they really tear up my tummy. But i love red or orane bell pepper and they dont bother me in the lrast. Can you eat those Diane? They are better for a person anyway. Ive always thought the green ones were just green, not yet ripe.
Sister says she is going home next week sometime. She seems a little depressed. Wish i knew how to help her

I slept all night without having to make a bathroom run. Mark it on the calendar.
Happy Birthday to Fred.

My sheets are in the dryer. Next project will be to remake my bed. Lucy, I usually get up for a potty run about 4:00 AM. I then check my blood pressure and blood glucose. It's now 77 degrees and partly cloudy. The high is predicted to be 86.

Happy Birthday to Fred!! My DH would have wanted a golf match on his birthday. LOL Dinner out later.
I love Bell peppers especially the green ones. Stuffed with meat loaf mix! in all salads potato or macaroni , and steamed with large chunks of onions and peppers and zucchini. Peppers and onions on hot sausage. I could go on and on. I feel like the orange or yellow have no taste. One of the things I have no stomach issues with. Like a cold beer at the end of a hot day, Usually get a light beer. But have tried some craft beers. I remember my mother in law putting salt in her cold beer. UMM never tried it.
I check my blood pressure usually early afternoon and again at night if Dr is asking for readings. he doesn't care what time I do it. Will do it in the mornings if he asks for them. Right now just getting reading now and then and he is happy with that. as am I. All good.
Picked up my DD's dress at the seamstress this morning. she took it in a bit and hemmed it, so darn reasonable. My DD will be happy and still time to try it on. I have never had anything not be perfect from her. I tried on a sun dress to be hemmed. It is one of the lettuce hems up and down and way too long so just having it cut off straight. don't care about the pattern just need it shorter and not that up and down look. Really deep differences.
Kids probably getting home late tonight so imagine they will pick up Sparkle tomorrow morning first thing. All the photos have been awesome and yesterday got the family one on the beach. I am going to do a collage of picture with that one in the center and kids scattered all around. I do shutterfly and they do an awesome job of projects. Will even give you tips. no other plans to day. We did rain but not a lot. just a summer shower.

Hi!
Connie, I love your picture of wading in the creek. When I was a child, we went to Arkansas every summer to the place where my dad grew up. We waded in Yokum Creek, and it was clean and cool and tiny fish would nibble my legs and feet. It was named Yokum Creek long before L'il Abner was a comic strip. Does anyone else remember Mammy Yokum saying, "I has spoken!" when she laid down the law to Pappy and the boys? I am so glad that we went to visit Dogpatch while it was a going concern -- kind of a poor man's Silver Dollar City.
Lucy, sorry things went wrong. Maybe you can go to the gym at a different time? Sandy, how nice to have a family gathering to celebrate Fred's birthday! Happy birthday (belated) to him! Jenny, I do eat the orange and red ones with no trouble, but I don't like the flavor of them for stuffed peppers. Picky, I know. Nancy, good for you -- getting the work done early.
It is up to 88º already. We're in for the rest of the day.
Enjoy your day! Diane

Lucy: I have never prayed about a toe before but I'll try that today.....Hope it's not broken.
I've been up and down all night since Jim was constipated with tummy pains last night and went during the night messing EVERYTHING. So much for sleep.....
See you all later for tuck in.

Diane, I do my laundry while I'm eating my breakfast. When my washer spins it sometimes get unbalanced and takes a "walk". It has blocked the door to the garage a few times. I have been able to unbalance it so that it hasn't happened recently.

I'm having another no sleep night.....Jim slept too much during the day again. Wish he could get his days and nights back in order.
Tucking you all in now in our blankets which are light blue in color with a full sunlight in the middle with a big smile on it's face.
