Dr appt at 1:30 to test for strep. Could be a viral thing, but going in to check her out.
Picked up the boy & dropped off 1 dz kolaches & 2 dz donuts. The swimmers loved it, but one of the moms said "I didn't know you had signed up for food." I said I didn't either, but the kids would eat it. "Well, I wouldn't have brought all this if I had known." She is one of the moms that I stay away from at our yr-round swim center (there's a group that I just don't fit in with....stay-at-home moms club...plus, my personality is way darker than their preppy cheerleader type). She has kids on the high school team as well (girls). Very ungrateful, and no, I did not sign up on the stupid email that was sent out on Nov 30, 4 weeks prior to this week's practice. I didn't even know what I was doing day-to-day, much less 4 weeks ahead.
Sandy, good choices. That's what we have to do.

This came across on my FB feed (WW):
ADMIN: Good morning/afternoon/evening! For many of us, today, Tuesday, 12/27 is back to the real world and that world includes getting back on track. No matter what took place up until now, it is in the past. Today we move forward, regroup, reset, with no regrets!
I like the "move forward, regroup, reset, no regrets" - getting myself mentally prepared...going to cut back on Diet Mt. Dew (seem to be drinking too much at home & shouldn't be) & carbs are killing me. I felt so much better when I had cut back. Going back on my plan & will start tracking again

I had bought some protein powder awhile back and finally got around to trying it. It's not bad at all. I added it to crystal lite.

LOUISE are you eating massive quantities of vegetables? B/c if you're not eating enough protein and staying away from most carbs, what ARE you eating? Don't get sick.
BECKY a taco salad sounds so GOOD. But I can't have beans, tortillas, cheese... so not on my menu. I wish it were.
STEPH I'm glad DD is getting tested! Bob has been to urgent care a few times last week for his cellulitis and he asked 2 different doctors if they were seeing a lot of flu but BOTH of them said no, but a TON of strep.
SANDY for me 1 bite of cinnamon rolls would be impossible. I'd have to do what you did... ZERO bites I can do. or 100 bites. But not 1.
SUZE maybe some year I'll do bootcamp. When it starts at noon!!
OK though it's not 100% a done deal, b/c the IRS still has to sign off and figure out my interest and penalties on what I "owed", I got really good news. Instead of $7,881, she computed that I owe $79 (plus int and pen.) That was $350 well spent and I really like this gal so now I have a new, good, local CPA. I signed the power of attorney paper for her to send in my check and she wrote the letter to the IRS and filled out the forms they were demanding. This SHOULD be a done deal. Except that they need to tell me what my penalties are. But she estimated they'll be less than $50. WHAT A FREAKING RELIEF. SUZE I can't remember how you came up but I mentioned something about Commerce and was saying where it was and she said "I know where it is. I have a client there." So if you ever need a new CPA....

LOL STEPH, shame on you for not following the rules. JK of course, and gosh, knowing active teenage kids – there is never enough food! Excellent words of encouragement. …very true. And that should be a thread name!
For me, that whole “start Jan. 1” thing is sort of self-defeating. I don’t know if that makes any sense at all, but it seems to imply a NY resolution – and you know how many of those are successful.
CELESTE that is GREAT news! Hey, thanks for the tip – I may not need one this year, but with all the trust stuff, I may next year.
In that regard, my DB (co-trustee) went to see the attorney today, never mind that DB didn’t “read the entire email” sent by the attorney at least 2 ½ weeks ago, that requested he stop by at his convenience to go over some forms that the attorney had prepared, and that NEED to be signed by all to get the ball rolling on closing up this LLC deal, moving property, etc. I read the entire email…Sheesh – but it’s in the past, right?
Anyway, DB has the paperwork and the sibs participating in the LLC can sign Saturday at our gathering. All but one will be there, and I and DB can sign of on the paperwork that we need to as co-trustees. Lawdy, I put this into motion at the beginning of October, glad this will be done.
Ran errands, set up new printer, put insulators in wall outlets, counted up bulbs so I can buy LEDs today and get the tax credit. I just have to do another load of laundry,
Have been consciously eating today – YAY. I need to get in some more water though. I’m going to order a Rocky Mountain tumbler (if it fits a straw) – it holds 30 oz and will keep water cold the entire day at my desk. That way, I’ll get at least 30 oz during the day. I always drink cold water as soon as I get up as well.
Off to do another load of laundry and pack, and send out a couple of checks.

Sheeesh SUZE I wish I liked water... cold, tepid or any way. I do have my S'well that is usually filled w/ water, ice and a bit of lemon juice. But I DO NOT like it. Now if it were ice tea w/ 3 packets of SPlenda... I can have several bottles/day.
OK so I woke up this AM w/ this feeling of impending doom and I thought it was perhaps due to the CPA appointment but it didn't go away. Then I REMEMBERED. So Suze and I saw Collateral Beauty and it's about a man who is grieving for his daughter that died. And at this support group for people that had lost children, one woman would say "My daughter's name is Olivia, she died of a rare form of brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme. She was only 6 years old." Now this was repeated MANY times over the course of the movie. Last night, I DREAMED I had a brain tumor and was scheduled for surgery and I had NO IDEA I was even sick. So I was at the hospital asking "What kind of tumor is it?" And one doctor said that if he told me, I'd just google it (and he'd be right), so they didn't want me upset so they weren't going to tell me. I kept trying to get people to tell me, and I remember thinking "well I can get a nurse to tell me. I think they HAVE to tell me if I ask." I kept saying "But I don't think I'm even sick." Then I started remembering all the symptoms I'd had. Like the fact I have no sense of smell (true) and that I had terrible headaches (not true). PHEW. At least now I know why I feel creeped out. Weird.

Regroup//reset//no regrets😳 yes it would make great challenge title for January daily /weekly goal ideas?
tenderized round steak, chipped up and simmering with stew veggies, will add a biscuit crust for dinner
plan to have a portion then put my plate away
good choices so far and plenty of liquid

At katy bday party I made comment that we needed more silver wear- well DS purchased 8 piece setting, also DH 8 piece setting - am good to go now😄
also so since eye surgery last April, I have two fingers on right hand that tingle and go to sleep often, am sure it's pinched nerve from keeping headdown, but no luck at chiropractor so have just been living with it
made comment that after sitting in massage chair getting pedicure, fingers are better once again DS and DH both purchased back massagers
i got double gifts for Christmas
ds found a house he likes, 3 miles the way crow flies, but about 9 cause we have to travel around the lake still in school district that kids attend on lake, 2 bedroom, 2 bath, large open concept with kitchen, dining, living, also covered deck facing lake a beautiful sewing room that could be turned into another bedroom
they have house plans but hard to get decent price from builders when living in country
so so glad my house is paid for😉

SANDY lol on the double gifts...that's great that your guys are so attentive and thoughtful! The house facing the lake does sound like a really nice place to raise the kids.
Weird dream CELESTE.
Extra activity - check. I got home from an errand, put on my walking shes, grabbed my headphones for a power walk. Of course, I apologized to Lu that she could not go. Boy I have no felt that twinge of a joyful dance-in-the-street feeling in a very long time. I also stopped to meet an elderly neighbor "Morley" who was mimicking me as I went by. Cute man.
Taking Lu out for a short walk and then back to my chores.

The rapid test came back negative, but I'll wait for the 24 hr test. The only time she's fever free is when she has Motrin. So, she'll miss another practice & we've cancelled her friend coming over tomorrow. She's not happy about that. She has 2 more friend dates which are sleepovers, one here & one away. We'll see how the week goes.
When school first started, I was doing really well with food choices and water and exercise.....basics....that will be my goal again and was working for me. Just need to figure out how to do it when the stress is there. AND...will get the exercise going again. Went over to the other house to get the stationary bike & Zachary didn't tell us he had pulled a groin muscle until we got there. I wouldn't let him pick it up & there's no way DH & I could do it w/ our backs. SO...will try to get it this weekend.
Suze, if you put ice in one of those tumblers, does it keep it most of the day like it says? The tumblers I use are sweat proof, but do not keep my drink cold. The nazi cafeteria lady doesn't like to give us ice...FREE ICE...it just puts her out if we ask for it...like it cost her anything. ANYWAY...there's some on Amazon that are not that expensive.
Sandy, those are the gifts we like, but for some reason do not buy for ourself.
Celeste, strange dream, indeed.
So, the protein powder is supposed to keep you full, right? I think I have 2 packets but never used them. Will look for them.

SANDY that is so funny about the double silverware and massage. Now the double massage... one can never have too many massage certificates!!
SUZE your frame of mind sounds like you're ready to take on the world. You GO GIRL.
I bet the prime rib smells good w/ the magic mushroom powder rubbed in it. I was going to make butternut squash and apple ginger soup but was too late to roast the squash. SO it's just going to be prime rib and tons of roast green beans. I have some Hawaiian rolls for Bob. I love them but I'm going to pass on them. Because I love them. And I'm evidently very low on fiber lately and today my stomach/gut pain is starting back up for the first time in ages. I'll learn some day. Like... TODAY.

Dang, I lost an earlier post.
Celeste - I really don't eat much. I'm not hungry. After seeing the Christmas picture I need to lose more.
wow, sandy, the cowboy has on purple chaps. I'm watching a pre-recorded Houston rodeo. The winners in each group win 50 thousand.

Celeste,On the taco salad I'm not including beans and I may just cut up a couple of tortillas and for that matter I may skip the cheese.Okay it may not exactly be a taco salad but it will come close.LOL.I agree with you about the cinnamon roll.It would have to be zero bites or the whole thing.I'm glad you don't owe near as much as you thought and I'm sure you are relieved.
Steph,I'm glad you are getting DD tested today. Are your allergies worse today?I saw on the Austin news where cedar was in the high category.
I don't like plain water but I do like it with lemon wedges. My cup is 20 oz and I fill it up with ice and water and squeeze a lemon wedge in it.It will also last most of the day anyway but I never leave it that long.I try to have 3 of them a day.
Celeste,What an eerie dream.I'm sure you are glad it was just a dream.
Sandy,I like that name also for a January challenge. We aren't perfect so we have to leave room to forgive ourselves when we don't eat according to plan therefore the no regrets comes in.Good idea of eating 1 portion and putting your plate away. You are set on silverware aren't you?How funny on the double gifts of massager as well.I could use both the silverware and the massager.I notice when it's cold in the house 2 fingers on my right hand also go numb. They don't go to sleep but they are numb.My right hand gets cold where my left hand doesn't.I always knew I was lopsided.
Suze,Look at you go with the power walk.Good for you.I didn't go for a walk this afternoon b/c of my back and my knee but I know I spent at least 30 min walking and shopping in WM in Bastrop today so that will be my exercise for today.
Steph,It's better to be safe in case DD has strep.I'm sure her friend wouldn't like it if she gave her strep either.I just have a Contigo tumbler and mine stays cold even overnight b/c I keep it by my recliner and if wake up with a dry mouth it's still got ice in it.I had to stop riding my exercise bike b/c I think that's what aggravated my knee and leg problem.Actually I'm beginning to think I'm falling apart.Where is that WHaaambulance when I need it?
We went to Bastrop today and ended up going to both WM and HEB and I had given Kenneth 2 gift cards for Whataburger and our friends had given him 1 for Christmas so we ate there.I had the grilled chicken salad so tonight I just fixed a salad with a HB egg,1 tbsp walnuts and light Italian dressing plus Yoplait 100 Greek protein yogurt.Kenneth was full so he just snacked as usual.I normally put some kind of meat in my salad but it tasted good just like that.
Celeste,You know you need fiber.I didn't have as much today as I normally do and I can tell in my appetite b/c it fills me up faster.Maybe some raspberries will do the trick.

Louise,If you don't eat enough it sometimes backfires and it makes it harder to lose.Protein is what keeps me comfortably full as well as fiber. Is it b/c you eat so few carbs that you aren't hungry?I know you have lost quite a bit.Pictures don't always tell the whole truth. It's how we fit in our clothes and how we feel about ourselves that counts.

STEPH yes it's one of those cups, and I like the size, BUT...I called customer service and she said it was an extra $10 for lid to accommodate a straw. So nope. I found a 30oz cup on Amazon that will, with excellent reviews for 12.95. By Baysea. Worth a try. I do wonder if the cust service understood what I was asking. Oh well.
Just finished updating trust spreadsheets now to pay bills and dry last load of clothes. And pack.
