This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone I hope you are all doing well and that you have a good month with your weight loss goals. I've been depressed for a few days, but I'm trying to push myself forward so I started our thread. I did a small bit of walking yesterday and I'll try to do that again today. Even if I only do 5-10 minutes, it's better than nothing. I saw someone mention that they had lost weight by counting calories during the week but taking off on the weekend. It made me remember other dieter's saying they had been successful with taking a day off during the week, and staying on track the rest of the week. I know that I used to do that when I went to Weight Watchers meetings. The day of my weigh in I let myself have some extra food and I still did good during the rest of the week. So I may think about trying something like this. At this point even if I had a couple good days in a row and then a day off counting, it would be better than what I'm doing now I just need to start rebuilding all those good habits I had in place. Thanks for the support I receive on this thread, I appreciate it Hope you all have a great weekend!

Good morning
Cj59, thanks for our September start. I think that’s a great idea to take a couple days a week off. I’ve done that in the past and was successful. I might try it again this month. I’m hoping September will be a better month for not only me but all of us.
Waving to all

Hello! I've been on vacation for a week, and there's been a lot of personal stuff going on so I couldn't check in. I'm weighing in tomorrow, not looking forward to it as I am definitely expecting a gain, but I need to see the scale number so I can track it, and then track my food and keep going. Vacations and stressful weeks are both a part of life, so I need to learn how to navigate those better, and since I don't have those skills just yet, I need to recommit as soon as I can. It's all about shortening the duration of 'off plan'. sunrose49, I hope you are having a great week, I think September still has plenty of potential to be a great month for us all! cj59, I love this idea of having a day where you eat a little more. I think sometimes I get lost in the "Oh no this is forever!" cycle while I'm eating a salad (usually because I had a big breakfast or have plans for a big meal later). Silly thoughts. Much better to have a plan with some wiggle room and stick to it! I hope you find success with your strategies! Have a great weekend everyone!

Howdy
Irisarrina, two hard but doable things to navigate. You’ll get the hang of it.

Maddie crossed the rainbow bridge on Saturday. 🌈
It’s been so hard. I keep looking for her and dealing with her stuff is not easy. She was such a sweet girl.
She had a tumor in her spleen. They said I could do surgery and maybe that would buy her a little bit more time but she was 11 1/2 and I wasn’t gonna put her through that.
My heart is broken.

Hi sunrose - Hope you are doing well Hope everyone else is doing well today. I'm thinking about joining the 100 day challenge on our board. I think it might start tomorrow, I'll have to check the thread out. I just want to do some walking every day, I don't care if it's 5 minutes. I was thinking that posting there each day that I walked will motivate me to do it.
