Good morning and Happy Monday!
All crafters are welcome here as we discuss crafting, life and our weight loss journey. Crafting includes actual hands on crafting, such as crochetting, knitting, sewing, quilting, needlepoint, painting, jewelry making, etc.....plus reading craft catalogs, craft blogs, watching craft you tubes or other crafting videos, chatting here about crafting, chatting with another person about crafting, reading craft emails, thinking about crafting, organizing crafting supplies, going into craft stores or the craft aisle in a store , attending craft fairs,or any other activity that inspires or directs your mind toward a crafting activity- even visiting us here to join in our posts!! There are plenty of days in which the closest we get to crafting is a visit here, so even if you have no time to craft, we would love to hear from you. We welcome newcomers to our friendly discussion! So glad you are here!! Please feel free to stop in and say hello!!

CJ- guess later on I will have to look carefully for the “H”- which I did not see on initial inspection. But I do not blame you for fixing it….it looks great and is such a pretty quilt.
Got the Queens funeral on now, so I will be brief- and come back later to chat.

Hope everyone had a good day and got some crafting time in! For me, after a day of babysitting, I got no crafting done. Took the little ones to the park this am, which tired them out and set me up for a nice nap from both of them. I have a craft planned for them on Friday, www.google.com/search?q=hedgehog+pine+cone+craft+for+kids&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari Hope the link works they will be making pinecone hedgehogs. I picked up some great pine cones on my walk the other day and have the rest of the supplies here. I just have to find my wiggle eyes and cut the faces and ears from felt. Easy for a 4 year old to handle and a 2 year old with some assistance. Have a good night!

Hello Everyone Ginny - The hedgehogs are so cute, hope the grandkids enjoy making them Ruth - Hope you and your DH are feeling better Phyl and Sue - Hope you are well. I didn't do any quilting today, I think all that I did over the weekend burned me out Hopefully I'll feel like making the blocks that are coming out this week for the quilt alongs. The weather here is nice, just a bit warmer. I'm sure looking forward to some cooler weather. Take care

I hate talking on the phone but a wonderful friend wanted me to call. My phone battery is dead though so I'll have to wait.
Tomorrow another doctor appointment for dh. This one with an ortho. Hopefully he has some good suggestions.
I'm working on the 4th knot bag and will probably take that with me tomorrow to that doctor visit for dh. If this one is done tonight I'll start another and take it. I finally finished the third one which should have been easy but I kept messing it up.
CJ the quilt is beautiful. After you pointed it out I did see the H's. It looked fine with them but I think you're right that it's better now.
Ginny, you're a brave woman doing all these crafts with the little ones. The grandchildren will remember all your love and care for a lifetime though so it's sure worth the work involved.

Hello Everyone Ruth - Glad to see you posting, so I hope you are feeling better. Hope your DH's appointment goes well. The second block for the Christmastime quilt along is out today, so I thought I'd post a link for you where you can download the PDF: www.fatquartershop.com/christmastime-mystery-quilt-along-week-two-hard-candy-christmas-quilt-free-pdf-patternPat Sloan and the Fat Quarter Shop both have videos on YouTube today, although they are using paper foundation to make part of the block - but with the PDF instructions you don't have to. I still have some of that other jelly roll quilt project to finish, it bugs me to leave it half finished, but I also don't want to get behind on these others, so I'll have to figure something out Hope you all have a good day

Ruth, were you able to get that phone charged so you could chat?? Its good to see you here- gee great progress on the knot bags! These will be awesome Christmas gifts for the granddaughters or whomever you chose to make one for. How did Dh’s orthopedic appt go? I know you brought a knot bag to keep yourself busy, but it would be nice if the wait to see the doctor was not too long and that the doctor had some good input for Dh.
CJ- thanks for posting the link for the second block. Its sure a cute block, but I think I will pass on this one. I will make a mug rug though, that tea mug pattern was so cute. Yes most of the time paper piecing can be avoided. I know you are not a big fan of it, and your blocks come out super well anyway. It sure does help keep corners crisp. Somehow I know you will manage to get all your quilting priorities straightened out and get all the blocks and quilts done this week that you had desired to do.I am happy that you are enjoying some Christmas quilting…the standard Christmas red and green is not something we usually quilt with (colors) so its a nice change of pace. I find Christmas colors happy.
I worked this am-and was happy to be home by 9:30. I got back late last night from Bible study so I actually took a nap mid morning. I did some yard work, we are still cleaning up from all the work that was done, and its a slow process putting everything back in its place. But its gotta happen before leaves start falling, which will complicate the process. Think tonight my temperatures dip into the 50’s (nice!), and then fall temperatures really arrive on Thursday. I did not get any crafting done yet, but might crochet this evening for a bit.

HI, CJ, thank you for posting today's link of the mystery quilt. I tried and tried to get the site to put it up and could not. you might have to keep posting for me. THANK YOU. the problem with printing it off, is the printer wants to just print the first page. I TRIED EVERYTHING I know how, Don just put in 2 new inks. FAT QUARTER SHOP has my name and emails so maybe things will go better.
ok quilt show in Madison,we left here at 6:45 a September 10th and it was raining good,so much for the local weatherman saying just little spurts. AS we go down the hwy about 30 miles the bus passes us up. I KNEW THE GIRLS WERE GETTING ON THE BUS AT 6.30 ,SO THEY MUST HAVE STOPPED IN ANOTHER LITTLE TOWNSHIP.
WE get to MADISON about 9:15 not to bad.I was surprised there was not a line at the ticket booth.we go inside the auditorium I just felt a different apostrophe compared to the other years.
so we started going down the aisles, didn't have to much of a problem going through the vendors or crowds. well in some places we did but not for long.
you know there are always think they are the only customers in the world.
I had my walker with and only used my cane in some places. there was one booth I HAD A BEAUTIFUL FALL KIT IN MY HAND AND DID NOT TAKE IT,SHE SAID IT WAS HER LAST ONE.**&&^%%$PHYL did not follow through on her thought in the car,see something, think I WANT IT, TAKE IT.WELL I thought come back, guess what could not find the vendor and I KNEW IT WAS GONE.
how many times do we do that to ourselves?
we did run into some guild members, when we sat down by Pauline, I WAS telling her about The kit, said it waS NOT THERE IT WAS NOT MEANT FOR ME. SHE SAID THAT IS HOW SHE FEELS WHEN SHE DOESN'T GET SOMETHING.
so walk around some more and went to lunch, which is expensive!my chicken salad sandwich was 9.00 and DON'S TURKEY RANCH HOAGIE WAS 8.00,CHIPS 2.00 AND SODA 2.25. WELL DON'S SANDWICH THE LETTUCE WAS WILTED, BUN DRY,HE TOLD THE 2 WORKING CATERS IF HE MADE a sandwich like THAT he would feel bad to sell it for 8.00
so back into the show we go,I finally spent some money ,bought 2 little kits, pumpkin attic window and lil 'dinomite this has to do with birds.
I did buy 3 raffle tickets to see if I COULD WIN A PRIZE FROM WISCONSIN PBS, (they put on sewing with Nancy and fons and porter and later in the year quilting arts.
we sat down to rest for awhile and Don fell asleep for awhile.I MANGED to make it till 300 just could not do it till 4.30. so we left, stopped at cracker Barrel and had supper, got home and I could tell I WAS SORE, WENT TO BED ABOUT AN HOUR EARLY AND WOKE UP SORE AND SORE MOST OF SUNDAY MORNING.
THE EMAIL I got said there were 15,000 attendees (3 days) 240 vendors.so in my book that is small compared to other years. Sandy said they said they were really busy THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
b
well price of gas for some, maybe medical reasons, maybe vendors retired ,who knows, a lot happened in 2 years of covid.,
would I GO AGAIN? WHO KNOWS, HAVE TO SEE WHERE MY BODY IS NEXT YEAR AND DEPENDS IF DON STILL WANTS TO DRIVE IT. PHYL
ONE OF the VENDORS I bought from is from FISHKILL N.Y,The other I DON'T KNOW.

Fishkill NY??? Not all that far from me Phyl- far enough as in I would not normally drive there but I sure know how to get there. Glad you made it to the quilt show. Sounds like a good day, and while you did not get that kit that was “the last one”, well obviously it was not meant for you. Of course the snarky side of me questions why she even had it out in the first place, but guess her leaving early said it all. Perhaps she had another customer who asked her to hold it for them. And why do we do this to ourselves ??Dunno….but it sounds like you got some other good stuff when at the quilt show. Glad to hear that Cracker Barrel came through with a good meal after a long day. Sounds like a good day overall and I hope that somehow you can get that link to work for the mystery quilt. Will see if I can import the link for you. So last night I did end up working on some QAYG blocks. Love the fabrics, its so pretty. I do want to move on to the next step, putting the blocks together, but still have quite a few blocks to make. All in good time. The next few days will be busy for me, but I hope they will go quickly and easily. I will get here, just not sure when. I do have to cut the faces for the hedgehogs, and think I will do that in a few minutes. www.fatquartershop.com/downloadable/download/sample/sample_id/7815/ Phyl, see if that link works, if not CJ will have to perform some magic.

Hello everyone. I had a bit of cleaning to do today and phone time to make appointments and clarify some issues from dh's doctor visit yesterday so am just getting here.
Phyl, those sandwiches sound expensive but even McD's now has sandwiches that cost almost that much. I'm glad you had a good time at the quilt show.
Ginny,, you are a busy woman! Don't wear yourself out too much. I'm glad you like the fabric for your quilting project.
CJ I hope you're having a good day
Dh's appointment went ok. I didn't go in with him and I should have. But basically he is going to be going to PT and will have a hip injection sometime soon. I didn't know they injected the steroid through the groin area! I've never seen that done. I did have plenty of time to crochet while waiting for dh. I didn't get that bag done yet and I left it in the car when we got home so I worked on a hat last evening instead. That was a waste of time because although I was following a youtube video and thought I was doing exactly what the person in the video was doing I kept getting extra stitches so I gave up on it. I have plenty of hat patterns to use without having the aggravation. Today I started another knot bag. This one is with the star stitch.

Good morning, Ruth, would your Dh have allowed you in the doctors office with him (Mine usually did not). Anyway, Hope that the treatments will work and that if you have additional questions that perhaps you can get them answered. Nope, I had no idea that an infection would go through the groin area.. sounds painful for sure. Again sorry that the youtube directions were not what they should be, leaving room for misunderstanding and errors. I give you credit for taking on new patterns, but what you are experiencing is why I do not often take on new patterns. You have the patience to figure out issues with a pattern, I do not.
I did get a few more QAYG squares done….am up early this am to take a friend (also a widow) for her colonoscopy.
