Ginny, I usually always go in to the doctor appointments with dh but for some reason, while we were sitting waiting for him to be called, he said "oh you're waiting out here right". I said I'd go in but then said that since I can't hear well anyway that I'd stay outside. He mentioned to the PA that he had taken prednisone. I mentioned it on here back before we went on our trip that the doctor had ordered it but the dose was too high. I had called them to verify and the nurse claimed it was the right dose. So this woman PA told him it had to have been something else because no doctor would ever give you that high a dose of prednisone. Well maybe the nurse made a mistake and didn't want to admit to it.
Phyl, I'm glad you were able to get your info printed.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today It's been a lot cooler here today and very windy, I think tomorrow will only be in the 60s. I'm happy I'm going to put away my downstairs portable AC unit tomorrow, which will be nice. I went out yesterday to get a few groceries and run some errands. There is a milk I like (Fairlife) that is hard to find. I've gotten so used to this type of milk, I really didn't want to go back to regular milk. So I was really happy to find the milk at one of the stores I haven't been to in a long time. This morning I made the block for the Hometown Charms quilt along and the candy block for the Christmastime quilt along, so I'm caught up on those. I hope I can get the Moda Blockheads at least started tomorrow - I have 3 of them to make. It really takes a lot of time cutting out all the pieces that go into these blocks, so I might only get that much done. At least I hope to finish them by the weekend. Hope you all get to do some crafting too. Take care

Good morning!
SOOOOO glad its Friday.
Phyl- glad to hear that you were able to print out that pattern. It sure is cute.
Ruth, yes doctors do make mistakes.,and it does sound as though there was an error on the prednisone dose. Hope that is straightened out.
CJ- it sure stinks that you have a struggle to find the milk you like. Glad you found it. And yes the cooler weather is a welcome change.
Such a long day yesterday- and I am babysitting today. My wild goose chase is looking for my coffeemate sugar free peppermint mocha creamer. Its supposed to be available now and only one small store had a small quantity of it. I have looked in 3 other stores, and will have to go back to the first small store to see if they restocked. So frustrating.

Ginny, can you maybe order that creamer online? I hate when I can't find something anymore that I once really liked. I also hate that the prices of food are so ridiculous now. We shopped again a couple days ago but didn't buy much because of that. I refuse to spend my hard earned money on expensive food items unless they are an absolute necessity and are things you really can't stock up on when the price is low such as eggs. I hope you'll be able to get some rest time in this weekend and I hope the craft session with the children is going or has gone well.
CJ, I love the Moda ones especially but I really like them all. The floral one is my least favorite but it's great also.
I'm still working on bags because I keep changing my mind on what ones to do. I've ripped out several now.
I'm still working on getting things straight about dh's ortho visit. Either he misunderstood things the PA said or she didn't explain well. I keep getting phone calls to set up appointments for things he doesn't think she told him she was ordering right then.
ok back to my bags

Stopped at a store on the way home, and it was out of my creamer. I asked the dairy manager, he said he had not seen it for days. They suggested going to another store, and honestly if I go there and its available, I will buy a lot of it. That stores web site indicates they have it in stock. So it looks like I will head there tomorrow am, early. What insanity.
Ruth, now I see why you wished you had gotten in the examination room with Dh. Hope you can straighten the situation out. It would be great if you can settle on a knot bag that you like its appearance and is easy to make. How many more do you have to make?
CJ- as always the blocks are pretty! What is the finished project for the Christmastime blocks? I know its a short term project….not months and months of different blocks.
Long day. Got a busy day tomorrow, but Monday schools are closed, so it does make for an easier weekend.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today The weather here is cooler, in the 60s, and cloudy. Ruth - Hope you can get things worked out for your DH's appointments. Ginny - Hope you found your creamer today. Phyl - Hope you enjoyed your free motion class. I like the plaids at Christmas too Sue - Hope you are doing well and getting to do some crafting. I finished the other quilt top that used up the rest of the floral jelly roll strips. I made a Chinese Coin quilt with it and I'm happy with how it turned out. I also pieced together three rows for my Moda Blockheads quilt and have the last row ready to piece after I make the block that comes out this Wednesday. I also have one bonus block I need to make, so I hope to get that done tomorrow. I've decided just to put an outer border on this quilt. At first I thought maybe a small inner border, but when I tried it out it looked bad, so I'll just go with one larger border. I've enjoyed this quilt along, but will be glad to be done with it, since it started in March. I'm trying to avoid starting anything new, but we'll see how that goes I should just stick with my quilt alongs that are going on right now. I do have a quilt that I'd like to make, it's from a mystery from a few years ago. I have the pattern and I have fabrics pulled - blue/green/green-white print, that I think will look pretty. Here's a link to a few pages about this quilt: scrapdash.com/princess-charlotte-the-big-reveal/ - scroll down to see the quilt with the borders on it scrapdash.com/princess-charlotte-mystery-quilt-pics/ - here are pictures of other quilts from people who participated in the quilt along Take care everyone!

GOOD EVENING, YES,I did enjoy the free-motion class, LORI did somethings different then she did 4 years ago. got there and my machine didn't want to sew. turn out it was the thread LORI gave me. seamed to be messed up. Lori said some machines just
don't like rayon thread.
the machine worked better, but at times gave me fits. still problems with the thread. I KNOW IT WAS GOOD WORKING ORDER, HAD IT CHECKED AND CLEANED IN AUGUSTA.
she even gave us a couple of spools of thread and we also got to try different paddles and hoops for moving fabric.
we had a great lunch, sandwiches for jimmy johns, cookies, lays snacks, candy, bars. was a fun day.
I A TRIEDS.ALMOST FELL ASLEEP AT THE COMPUTER WAITING FOR IT TO DO IT'S THING. PHYL

You got a lot done today,CJ.I like the Charlotte quilt and it's interesting to see pictures of how different people have made it.I like the simpler ones the best..
Phyl, sorry about your machine acting up after having just been serviced. I hope when you get to working with it at home with your own thread that it is ok. Sounds like a great lunch. I've seen Jimmy John's advertised on tv.I don't think we have one here. I'd probably never go to it anyway. All the sub prices I've seen for all these different shops are way too high in my humble opinion.
I'm still working on the bags and getting tired of them. I started one today and it ended up being too big so ripped that out and started over using my own base. I hat doing those oval bases. Otherwise it's a very pretty bag and very unusual. I hope to finish it tonight but probably won't.

Good morning and blessed Lords day!
CJ- just checked out the link for the princess Charlotte quilt, and its a very very pretty quilt pattern. I loved the color combo “Laura” used, blue and yellow which is a favorite of mine. Bet you are happy coming to the end of that blockheads quilt top. In the past you have mentioned that some of the blocks were challenging to make, but that you had learned during the process.. It sounds like you will be able to finish that quilt by the end of the week, if you can get the last block done and the bonus block cone. I understand the hesitancy to start or even consider a new project. You got a ton of quilting done in this past year and perhaps felt too pressured to stay current with each project? But its SO hard not to try a pretty new pattern….i get that too.
Phyl- some machines do not like certain threads. The person who sold my husky to me told me that it likes less expensive thread, and I had some trouble with sulky thread just before I had it serviced. Sounds like you had a lovely day. Free motion quilting is fun, in my book.
Ruth, I forget how many more knot bags do you have to make? Hopefully this is the last one- perhaps you can work on a hat for a few days to break up your knot bag fatigue.
So the saga of me and my stupid creamer is almost done. Yesterday, I left the house early to drive a fair distance (20 minutes) to a third store, that the second store suggested might have my creamer. No luck. I spoke to the dairy manager there who told me he had not seen the Christmas creamers just yet and come back in a few weeks. He too lamented that some of the flavors are just so difficult to get. So I drove home passing store number one and store number two and decided to give store number one try again. Well they had just stocked the shelf and I bought six bottles of my creamer! Very successful day and I know this stuff keeps very well so I’m not worried about expiration dates being a problem.
I think I’m going to that quilt show later on today, so I’ll stop back in later on to chat about it.
Have a wonderful morning Ginny

Ginny, I'm glad you found your creamer. Isn't it amazing how we "get a feeling" like you did about stopping at store #1 and found the creamer.
I didn't finish that bag last night but will today if nothing comes up to take up my time. I have one more to do but I might make more later and trade some of these to different ones but we'll see. There are so many things I want to make. I still want to do some sewing too but it never seems like I have the time. I do have a lot of time though. I just need to use it more productively.

Ruth, I just got back from the quilt show, which was great. Jane bought some fabric, I bought a pattern and I forgot we each got a free fat quarter for our attendance. Think for her it was a much needed day away…..anyway we stopped in to see a presentation by a woman who specializes on applique. She was very funny and super inspiring. I am not a big fan of applique having done it once or twice but seeing her quilts was really something. She ws full of great tips and stories of her journey to make 5 queen sized applique quilts a year.(insane). And she says she gets that much done by setting a schedule, she figures out how long each block will take her to make, then she sort of sets up a calendar based upon how long it will take her to make a block and when she wants the quilt completed. I wonder if it might be a good idea for you to schedule a “sew” day into your life, and see how that works for you. Between placemats, table runners, quilted mug rugs, it might give you a good alternative to crochet if you need a break. And I know from experience that sometimes its just a good idea to get things set up to sew, get the machine out, threaded, fabric out and take a look at the pattern. Actually, Barbara Blanton (the applique teacher) says while she is working on one project, she is mentally planning her next project, thinking of fabrics that she wants to pull from her stash, the pattern etc….
What I loved about her is that in each beautiful quilt she showed us, she also showed us all the mistakes! In one quilt she explained how her star points were off, another how she had to add another piece of fabric to cover up a hole, and another how she forgot part of the pattern, and oh well, part of the pattern is missing. She is a very relaxed speaker, fun to listen to and absolutely not too hard on herself. CJ, she is from Williamsburg, Va- so if you ever hear of her speaking near you, its worth listening to, even if you are not such a fan of applique. Both Jane and I came away from an hour with her, inspired.
Hope everyone has had a great Sunday and gets some crafting time in Ginny

Ginny, that woman sounds like a fantastic speaker and teacher. And she's human and gives out the impression to others that it's ok to be imperfect. I'm sure she also showed, by not even mentioning it, that most mistakes would not be noticeable by others. It sounds like she's saying to relax and enjoy. Recently I set up a schedule for my crocheting but have yet to adhere to it. Sunday is supposed to be hat day for instance.I guess I'll put in a sewing day which will involve cleaning my machine, threading and filling the bobbin and organizing my fabrics so that I can get to them...right now they're buried under boxes of yarn and my stash of gifts for children. My sewing day may be only once or twice a month. I haven't been able to get to the bag yet today because ds set up camera's on our Indy property and I tried for hours to set up the program online to see the camera views. After MUCH frustration I finally got it.Took from the time I posted here earlier until just a couple minutes ago I still hope to get that bag done but I was also hoping to start on the last one.
