CJ- well I am sticking it out for the final season of Chesapeake Shores., there is one episode left. What is pretty funny is that the actresses who play Abby and Bree are pregnant, the show has made no attempt to mask that they are expecting little ones. Its just pretty funny- both the characters are in relationships, but neither relationship is that far along, although the show promo’s are indicating that perhaps Abby becomes engaged (to someone I am not a fan of).
Not sure what today will bring. Got some household items to take care of. And I want to go through my yarn collection and donate some to Dd, who has started a crochet club at her school. So I think I will start there. Also yesterday got to look at the directions for the pin cushion I want to make for Jane for Christmas. It does not look difficult, and the shop owner said its an easy project.

Got a lot of housework done today. My crafting today might have been hanging a picture to make room for my painted board, and heading to the repairman with Jane to drop off her machine for servicing.
Hope everyone had a good day! Ginny

Hello Everyone Ginny - Glad you were able to get a lot done today. Sometimes I wish I had stuck with watching Chesapeake Shores, but I'm alright that I didn't. It bothers me some when movies take a book and make it into a whole different story. I guess I'm just too literal and want to see an exact adaption. That is funny that the actresses are pregnant and they aren't really hiding it I worked my half square triangles and star blocks for the Melodic Melody Mystery this morning and finished the star blocks and made all the half square triangles, but I still need to trim some of them. There were 60 of them and I did about 40 and then needed a break. Hope to the rest trimmed soon. Hope everyone was able to do some crafting today and that you are having nice weather. It's cooler here but it was sunny. Take care!

Hello Ginny and CJ and to Phyl and Sue if they look in
I cleaned the kitchen THEN did cooking and baking so then, of course, it was a mess again. So that's all the household things I got done.
Ginny It sounds as though you got a lot done like you usually do
CJ, I probably wouldn't be a good quilter because by the time I got the pieces gathered together and cut out then trimmed and put together I'd be tired of all the steps. I'm glad we have people like you and Ginny and all those others that make quilts so that the rest of us can see the beauty of all of them
It was nice weather her today. I think it may have gone into the low 70's
Tomorrow is another PT day. I need to get some things together to take to work on while dh is PT'ing. I ended up not doing anymore crocheting last evening and so far today the only crafting I got done was to look on the facebook crochet groups and on youtube to see if there were patterns I needed to add to my enormously huge stash of patterns. Luckily they're all online and not on paper cluttering up my house.
Have a great night all

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today and having nice weather. It's cool but sunny here.
Ruth - I hope you were able to do some crafting while your DH has his PT. I also hope the PT is helping him.
I finished making some blocks to use up the fabrics and smaller blocks left over from the Oh Say Can You Sew Quilt Along. I made a tablerunner and some other blocks that I'll add to my orphan blocks.
I only have some fabric leftover from the Moda Blockheads quilt along to use. It's lime green and white, which are already cut into strips, so I'm planning to make some 9 patch blocks with it and maybe I can use some more Halloween fabric and make a tablerunner.
Hope you have all been able to do some crafting today. Take care!

HI CJ, wonder where Ginny is today. It sounds like you got a lot done today too, CJ.
We went to Pt and I stayed in the car to crochet. They kept him only a half hour today instead of the usual hour plus. I didn't get much done crochet wise.Afterward we stopped in to Walmart to pick up just a couple things then home. I feel, though, like I did a whole day's work so plan to crochet the rest of the evening. It was quite cool today and didn't even hit 60. In fact it became overcast at one point and the temp dropped to 43 but that passed fast and it went back into 50's again

Good morning! Ruth, i was wondering if the weather was really nice because you crocheted in the car for Dh’s PT. Sometimes its just more comfortable to stay in a warm car instead of braving the elements. Having a walmart close enough to where Dh gets PT is nice, because then you can make it a combined errand. Were you able to get much crocheting done last night?
CJ- you always do such an outstanding job of using up all your fabric scraps, making a Halloween table runner. Will you finish that top and keep it out for the next few weeks? Now re reading the post this was something you were considering making. The Oh Say can you sew runner, will you keep that out and is that a finished project? I know some table runners are self completing, or quick turn making them ready to use when done.
Ugh. Ginny was tired and busy yesterday. I always struggle falling asleep after attending Bible study, just because I am out late and getting home around 9. I did babysit little ones yesterday, and had to drive DGD’s lunch to school because she left it at home. I tried to sneak in a short nap when DGS was watching television- he was right next to me on the couch. Probably got a few minutes of sleep that way. And on the way home I went to get my teeth cleaned.
Today will hopefully be a bit easier. I did sleep better last night, but would have liked to sleep a bit longer. I did check out some crafting supplies online and Jane and I are chatting about the quilt show that we will be attending in a few days.
Have a great day Ginny

Ruth, just checked my email and there is a recipe for fried cabbage in my inbox. Being that I had never heard of it 2 weeks ago, I find it pretty funny.

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well today Ruth- Sorry you didn't get more time to crochet during your DH's PT appointment. Hope the PT is helping him. Ginny - Hope you get some more rest tonight too. I'm glad you'll be getting to go to a quilt show. I look forward to hearing about it. I probably won't get any of the quilt tops I've finished recently actually quilted, so I won't be displaying them. I went out this morning to run some errands, so I haven't done any crafting today. Dealing with the traffic and people wear me out The new block for Pat Sloan's quilt along came out so hopefully I can work on that tomorrow. I really like her patterns but I'm finding that her designs are best done with fat quarters so you have a wide variety of fabrics/designs to choose from. It gets a bit tricky just using yardage and sometimes that isn't the best thing for the actual quilt. www.ilovetomakequilts.com/2022-hometown-charms-qal-1.htmlI'm really just griping because this week's block (Block #6) has a nice big center that a pretty fabric would fit in, but I really think I'm going to have to just put a solid light green in that area if I want my quilt to come together alright. I may wait until next week to decide for certain because Block #7 is repeated in the quilt top 4 times and I'd like to use the same fabrics in all of those blocks - and I want that fabric to be different from the fabrics in the other blocks. Thanks for reading all these disjointed thoughts Take care!

Ginny I'm sorry to hear you were so tired and hope you will be able to get rested up. That is funny, as in strange, that you got a recipe for fried cabbage in our email unless it was from someone you know. If not it's kinda scary that you mention something on a message board then start getting email about that subject. I find that often when I've ordered from a company or did a search for something that whatever I bought or searched from starts showing up in email and on FB. In other words, the world knows everything we do online.
CJ, thank you so much for that link. It's so much fun and so interesting to see all those blocks. I don't care a lot about the house blocks but I really like the others. And, yes, being out tires me out too. After just going to dh's PT where I just sat in the car and walking around Walmart I was exhausted by the time we got home.
Oh and Ginny, I think that's a great idea to donate yarn that you think you won't use to the school.
I did some cleaning today then some crocheting and, of course, since it's only 7pm I'll probably be doing more. I hope you both get a really good night's sleep.

Good morning!!
CJ- so the question that begs to be asked is how much fabric do you have in your house? It seems like you have almost always been able to put quilts together with very little additional fabric. I see what you are saying about block #6 and perhaps with some juggling you can find a way to make that block in a way that pleases you.
Ruth, glad to hear that you got some cleaning done (a necessary evil!) and also some crochet time. How did you sleep last night?
Got a little bit of crocheting in last night. I slept ok, woke up once and was up for a while but was able to get back to sleep. Wish I had slept longer, however. G

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today After several days of sunny weather we have a rainy day here today, but at least it's not too cool. Ruth - Hope you were able to get some more crocheting done. Thanks for understanding about feeling tired after going out. Besides just being a bit physically tired, I think it mentally tires me out too since I have so little interaction with people Ginny - I'm glad you did get some sleep last night, hope tonight is better. What crochet project are you working on? How are your monthly blocks coming along? I do have a lot of fabric in the house, but it's nothing compared to some pictures I've seen other quilters post I'm trying my best to use it, but for some reason new fabric does seem to come in from time to time - like the white and cream fabric I bought at JoAnn's yesterday But I justify that as necessary background fabric. I finished the block for the Hometown Charms quilt along and I'm satisfied with it. There is just enough of the dark green to have it pop out when the quilt is all put together. I want to try to put a bit of the dark green in all the rest of the larger blocks left to make (so that's 5 more blocks). Hopefully I can. I'm posting a picture of the block along with a few pinwheel blocks I made from the leftover HSTs. I was thinking that I should make a scrappy quilt of all these leftover pinwheel blocks. I also tested out a pattern for a block called "Farmer's Daughter". This one is 5.5 inches and I used one of my small lime green/white 9 patch blocks to make it. I like it but I don't have enough of the white fabric left to make anymore of these blocks. I do have enough white to make 5 other blocks that are sashed 9 patch, so I'm going to make them. I have this pattern in a 10.5 inch size too and I think I might make some of these blocks in that size using some of my Civil War Reproduction fabrics. It was a pretty easy block to make. I'm posting a few other pictures of those random Red, White and Blue blocks that I put together just to use up from the Oh Say Can You Sew Quilt along. You can see that they don't match up, but I will use these blocks in an orphan block quilt so it won't really matter. Take care everyone and have a good day!

CJ, the neat thing about those orphan blocks is that they can all go together to make a sweet mini quilt, wall hanging or table runner. The blocks are all so pretty~ I really like the simplicity of the farmers daughter block. Its a shame that you do not have enough fabrics to make any more. The tonal whites are such pretty fabrics.
The afghan (which might take forever for me to finish!) is for DD and DSIL #2. It matches their living room colors, and maybe I will be able to finish it some day. Ha ha ha. But seriously, I have to start working on some Christmas gifts and finishing projects that I have in the house. Please remind me not to buy any more fabric.
Hope Ruth had a good day. Phyl and Sue, hope you are both doing well. G

CJ, I really like that Farmer's Daughter block. I'm sorry, too, that you don't have enough of the fabric you need to make more of them. I know what you mean about having a whole house full of fabric. I'm that way with yarn and often have to get more to go with what I already have which, as you find with fabric, causes a person to never really make a significant dent in our stashes. Ginny, sometime you will get the afghan done. It's going to be beautiful when you're done with it. I really slept late this morning after having to get up 3 times in the night. Guess I must have drank more liquids than I thought during the day. I've been crocheting since I got up. I don't think there's anything else I really need to do today. I decided to make the two youngest grandboys each a hatching chicken. It's cute. It's a bottom shell with the yellow chick in it and he has the top of the egg on his head. They have real chickens so they'll like this stuffed one. This is going to be a big chick though and looks like it will be turning out about the size of an adult hen. I may have to make one of these for my youngest dggs too. Here's a funny one for you. My ds and his dw have 8 children and their youngest girl is the 6th. This grandaughter loves babies and emailed me yesterday saying that she wants her mom to have another baby because she wants a baby to hold all the time DDIL is 42 so I don't see that happening. I know how she feels because I was the oldest of 7 and loved helping with the babies. I told her that her older sisters may be meeting someone, marrying, and having a baby that she can help with but I did say hopefully not too soon because the oldest two sisters are 18 and 21
