I looks as though everyone is busy today. I've been also but finally got a chance to come on. It's been a frustrating day on the phone and online trying to get my prescriptions my doctor prescribed when we visited her a month ago. I've left numerous messages asking what happened to my prescription. Last message I left was last Friday. Finally today a pharmacy called to tell me my prescription is ready and that is NOT the pharmacy the doctor said she was sending it to now was it the one I mentioned in all the messages I left. SO I called again and left yet another message at the doctor's office and at the pharmacy my prescription was erroneously sent to. We'll see what happens next. Good thing my life doesn't depend on getting this stuff right away.
I hope you are both having a good day. CJ I'm sure the Thanksgiving quilt is beautiful. I haven't see one of yours yet that hasn't been. I love some more than others in that I have my favorites but they are all extremely well done and beautiful.
I'll be back later.

Ginny,it looks like we were posting at the same time.Thank you for the prayers and good wishes for my bil. My fil (father of the bil who has prostate cancer) also had prostate cancer but it was another incidence of wait and see and he died also of emphysema. I can't remember right now how old he was when he died. I'm sorry that your ds had to work another shift.I'm pretty sure he's home by now but I'm praying anyway. I'm glad your new stove arrived. Those little dings usually aren't bad and if they gave you some money back it's worth it to have just a tiny flaw.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are doing well today and having nice weather. It's beautiful sunny day here, temps in the 60s. Ginny - I'm glad the stove arrived and you were able to save some money with the small ding. Did you try it out today? Ruth - Sorry to hear about all that trouble with your prescriptions. Things are so difficult to do these days. Hope you can get it worked out. Have you ever watched a YouTube person named "Hooked by Robin"? I saw a video of hers today showing the moss/linen stitch and I thought it was very easy to understand. I might try out a sample swatch. Here's a link to her video (she sounds British, so I'm not sure if she is using British or American terms): www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WDUZPIv2ykI didn't get to any quilting today, but yesterday I got all my fabrics pressed and cut for the Fall/Autumn blocks quilt. Hopefully I can get to that this weekend. I did pull some fabrics to try the first block in the Sewcialites quilt along that started today. I might try making the 6 inch block and see if I like it. If I continue, I may just make the blocks and put them in a simple row by row layout instead of using the layout they gave. I'll have to see. Take care everyone!

Thank you CJ, I still haven't been able to get to my online prescriptions but I do think that the people at the doctor's office have finally sent my prescriptions to the right place
CJ, yes I've wated a lot of Robin's videos. I like them a lot. I don't remember offhand if she uses UK terms but I think she does. I'll check. I have a lot of her videos listed in my pattern files. I think it's a fantastic idea to make one of the blocks and see if you like then put them together the way you want.
Since my Olaf turned out way too large to send and I couldn't find any patterns that made it smaller except on patterns that I didn't like because the end products they showed were not made well and ugly. So I'm working on adapting that large pattern. It's a little challenging because I want the Olaf that has cheeks. The body part is easy. The head part well we'll see.
I'll bbl to see if Ginny checks in

CJ, she does use US terms. Did you see her log cabin blanket? I love it so it's on my long, long list. It would help me use some of the yarn I don't have enough of to make something else too.

Sorry to get here so late.
CJ- today was a set up day for you- getting fabrics ready or organized to start quilting when you are ready. it saves a lot of work for the day when you start actual quilting, now you can jump right in and start when you are ready to do so. No I have never seen a hooked by robin video, but am glad she inspired you. Crochet is a pleasant diversion from quilting and easy to do when watching television once you have mastered the pattern..
Ruth, sounds like your prescription saga was a real mess and it seems odd that they sent your prescription to the completely wrong pharmacy. Hope that its all straightened out now and you are able to get the meds that you need. Its so frustrating.
Worked this am (plus trained, so it was 6 hours away from home). Ds was home today, so I tried so see him a bit. Then decided to rake some leaves and restack the wood. I had a nice fire in the firepit, so it was lovely being outside. I just got back from rehearsal at church (music for Sunday) So its been a busy day. Got no crafting in, but perhaps tomorrow.

You're never too late for me to read since I'm a nightowl. It sounds like you had a very productive day and were able to spend some time with your ds who seems to work a lot. Do your son and his coworkers have a choice when they work a double shift or is it mandatory? I know when I worked back in Buffalo over time was mandatory which mostly affected the 3-11 shift.
Well I'm so surprised I DID IT! I managed to revise the Olaf head pattern and it looks exactly as it should. I'm amazed. Now I just have to sew his head to his body. The body was easy to do because I just made two smaller spheres.I do have to make his arms and feet too but that's not problem either. I decided to do only the one Olaf and for the second stuffie I'm going to make a penguin. I saw a nice pattern for one and it will go well with the youngest grandson's shark.
This past week we had the most fantastic weather. The temperature hovered right around 70 but now it's all going downhill. Tues the high will be only 36 and we're to get snow on Monday. The whole week is going to be cold. I can't wait till spring gets here again. It's great seeing everything come back to life.
Just found out that another old friend of mine from high school passed away. I've looked up several people I knew back in NY and all have passed I haven't heard anything about my neighbor. He and his wife haven't been home in at least a month. I know they had much more important things to worry about than letting me know they were leaving and where they were going but I wish I knew. I didn't even get a chance to give him the prayer blanket I made for him. All there stuff is still in their house and yard. I'm wondering if he went somewhere else for treatment of his cancer.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Sounds like it was a busy day yesterday, hope you get to relax some this weekend Ruth - I'm glad you solved the situation with Olaf, I'm sure it looks great. Sorry you are going to start having bad weather. I'll hope that you still get some milder weather before winter. I'm glad to hear that crocheter on YouTube is good. I'm going to test out that moss/linen stitch soon. Phyl and Sue - Hope you are doing well. I finished making the quilt with all the Autumn fabrics in it. Each block as a sawtooth star in it and the block is a 9 patch. I used the same 8 materials in each of the 9 blocks and then two different colors for the starts. It's not very big - 49x49, but a nice wall or table size. I also made the first block for the Sewcialites 2 sew along. I'm going to try the 6 inch blocks and see what happens. I pulled blue fabrics and a white fabric and I'll try some blocks in blue and white. I might add a different color later, I'm just going to make the blocks for a bit and see if I want to continue. This runs for 24 weeks, so I wouldn't feel bad about stopping over the next month or so. It was a bit tricky working with the small pieces of fabric, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out, a picture is below. This block was labeled as "experience quilter", so I'm happy I was able to do it and maybe most of the rest will be easier. blog.fatquartershop.com/sewcialites-2-block-1-perennial-beverly-mccullough/ - Here's the blog post about the first block. I'm also putting a close-up picture of that Thanksgiving fabric I mentioned that I used in a quilt earlier this week. Take care everyone

I'm not surprised at all, CJ, that you were able to easily make the "expert" block. You are an amazing quilter. It's certainly very pretty. I think a whole quilt in just those colors would be gorgeous but it will probably be great with other colors also.

Wow, today was a day of great accomplishments…. CJ- the blue block is very pretty and I can see that its at a level of a bit more than beginning quilting, Nice work~
Ruth, so glad to hear that Olaf now looks exactly as he should! Yay!!!
Was hoping to get here much earlier. My former neighbor (who I visited with last February when I went out of the state) needed a friend this evening, and I have been on the phone with her. Her adult daughter is, once again, getting into trouble. It is a very sad situation and all I can do for my friend is pray and listen. G

Hello - Hope everyone is doing well today It's cloudy and cool here, and we might get some rain later. I needed to take a break from making quilt tops, I was kind of worn out from them. So this morning I pulled out my container with all my 2.5 inch squares I've been saving and sorted them by color. Then I can store them nicely in the container I bought. I can't believe how many of them I have, it has to be several hundred And I have one pile that just doesn't fit into any color scheme since they are some type of novelty fabric. I need to see how many of those I have and make a quilt top just using them. I've saved pictures of several quilts that use this size squares so hopefully I can pick one to use those squares for. Hope you are all getting to do some crafting today. Take care!

CJ- weather wise, your day sounds much like mine. Not bad weather however, it could be hot, humid, snowing or raining super hard. Do not blame you for taking a break from quilting, think a breather is a good idea to recharge your quilting momentum. Just reorganizing your 2 1/2 inch squares is probably motivating, its hard to look at pretty fabric and not think of the possibilities. Of course my mind goes to a scrappy quilt…but I know you are not interested in that, and of course that is ok.
Church this am- and right now I am feeling a tiny bit under the weather. I chose not to go to a ladies luncheon (but did drop off the salad I had made for it) because I was not 100%. Dd and her family are sick, or at least most of them are. I am not babysitting tomorrow., my DSIL (who is also sick) is staying home with the sick kids.
Hope to crochet a little bit. G

CJ, I can see why you would need a little break but then you did sort all those squares and already have some ideas for them
Ginny, I'm sorry to hear that your grandchildren and their daddy are sick. I'm glad you don't have to babysit them and probably get whatever illness they have. Sounds like you're not feeling very good anyway and I hope you got some rest today and will be able to sleep well. I'm sorry to hear about your former neighbor's daughter too. I'll be praying for her also
It was cold today and when it finally cleared up so that the mountain could be seen we could see that it's covered in snow. Down here it rained much of the day. I've been crocheting most of the day and am trying to get the things completed that I plan to send to Indiana because there are some things dh wants to send to ds this week so may as well get everything mailed in that one trip. Shopping trips are on the agenda for his week too. Weather forecast says that, although we may get some snow, there won't be much accumulation.
See you all tomorrow in the new week
